Nachiket instantly turned her around, still holding her, he whispered into her ear.. "look into my eyes..and you will not have any confusion.. your heart will get all the answers it seeks.." Ragini looked into those deep black eyes.. she felt deep love in its truest form encompassing her... The feeling felt familiar and comforting. she felt as though she was HOME..the home she had hunted for in her mind, like crazy all these years. Her heart feeling at ease and her body relaxing.. she had never felt so light in all these years. She cupped his face, leaned forward and kissed him..he kissed her back..it was a long passionate kiss..both of them finding solace.. that comforting feeling that they had been looking for all these years. They had found the missing piece that made them complete.. "Sajanji Ghar aaye.." played in the background as the movie ended.
They broke their kiss only for air, neither of them willing to let go if each other..Tears flowing from their eyes.. the tears of happiness..tears of finally having come back to each other. They kissed again, this time it was a more intense than before.. They broke the kiss and Nachiket carried her to the bed..He layed her on the bed and burried himself in her neck, planting kisses on the neck and all over her exposed upper body.. she moaned in pleasure. She had missed this..her mind and body had yearned for it all these years.. She surrendered herself to him, to take her and make her his. Nachiket slided to her waist, he drew a wet line around her naval and kissed her on her waist.. He was very soft and gentle, putting her at ease more than arousing her..aware that there is one more hurdle for them to clear before they can cross the line... She pulled him up and kissed him again.. As they broke the kiss, Nachiket could feel her weaken..with the tiring day it was and the emotional and mental turmoil they had experienced since the night..he understood how tired she must have been. He crossed over to face her back, he kissed her one more time on the neck and her shoulder, held her in his arms and with hands around her waist pulled her closer. She fell asleep right away, sleeping like a child in his arms..They looked completely relaxed in each others arms, and slept like they hadnt slept in years. Their prayers to be in each others arms finally answered..
Morning..
They lay in the same position they had fallen asleep in. Ragini woke up, and instantly turned to look at Nicheket, she couldnt believe she had slept in his arms all night. There he was, by her side, still holding her..peacefully sleeping.. "he looks so much as peace, he must have not slept like this in years" she thought to herself. She slowly sneaked out of the bed not wanting to wake him up. She went to the closet, pulled out one of her old chudidhar kurtis, that she had left there when she had last visited the room almost 16 years back..Went to the bathroom and put it on, she was surprised that she could still fit into it with ease. Only thought on her mind, was to get back to her room as early as possible before anyone notices her absence. She set her hair right and quickly made it to the steps to the lower level, closing the door behind her. As she got down the last step, last nights events started replaying in her mind.. his touch, the warmth of the hug, his eyes, their kiss.. she was blushing and smiling to herself.. she walked slowly through the hallway, lost in her thoughts, smiling.. when Ashaben and Sunny Tai greeted her.
Ashaben: "Ragini.. where are you coming from? and what this that you are wearing..."
Ragini coming back to reality: "Nothing ma..(all set to lie).. I had just gone to visit Nishi in the room at the end of the hallway.. "
Ashaben: "But nishi is down with others.."
Ragini (partially lost in the last night): "haan.. I didnt find her.. I have to go now ma.. I will talk to you later"
Ragini sprints to her room, as Ashaben;s voice fades in the background.."But where..."
Ashaben: "Ajeeb ladki hai, badli badli si lag rahi hai..I hope she is ok"
Sunny (to herself): "Looks like the red lipstick worked its magic.."
Ashaben (confused): "chal..bahot kaam hai"
Ragini goes into her room.. shuts the door..looks herself into the mirror and smiles.. she has never seen herself this happy before... she wants to scream in excitement and her heart wants to dance around.."It was so nice last night..I spent the whole night with him.. after so many years..I got to be with him..It was magical..Should I go back?, would he have woken up? what will he do when he doesnt find me? Will he come here looking for me?"..She was excited like a college girl. Still replaying the events of last night, she finds her towel and goes to shower. As she is showering.. her excitement subsides..reality strikes.. "What happened last night was it right? she looks at her engagement ring, i am engaged.. how can I spend a night with my ex-husband..(well he was more like a boyfriend yesterday than ex-husband). What will Nachiket think of me.. Ms Ragini Patel slipped? Gave in.. could not be in control anymore.. what was wrong with me and what will Dr Aman this of me?" her mind rushing with thoughts..
Then she concludes (this is so unlike the typical Ragini) "I know one thing now, that I love him.. and after last night my mind is clear, there is no confusion anymore, I dont know what Nachiket may think, what our future is, if there is one.. But, there is one important thing that I need to do right now.."
Nachiket wakes up and is not very surprised to not find Ragini beside him. He thinks, she must have sneaked out early to avoid others from finding out. The events of last night, the comfort, the warmth, still fresh in his mind.. bringing a smile on his face. He walks out on T-shirt and black khakis.. to find Dr Aman on the terrace...
Aman: "Good morning Dr Niel.. aap yahan kahan se aa rahe hai"
N: "Haan woh main..." "I was excercising on the other side.."
Aman: "you look refreshed.. and happy"
N: "haan Dr Aman, subah subah aapko dekha maan kush hogaya.. Chaliye na Dr Aman.. lets go for a walk". He takes Dr Aman for a walk in the frontyard.. proud that he has won his girl back..
During the walk.. Nachiket thinks to himself, "what ragini must be thinking.." and all that comes to his mind is.. "She must be hating me. I knew she is engaged still I approached her.. kissed her.. she must be pretty upset with herself and me.. God! I can't face her.."
Ragini, after dressing up, walks over straight to Dr Aman;s room. Waits there till he gets back..
Dr Aman: "Ragini tum yahan, subah subah?"
R: "haan, aapse kuch baat karni thi"
Dr Aman: "is everything ok"
R (Smiling.. her happiness showing): "Everything is fine Sir.."
Dr Aman: "Ragini you smiled.. are you really ok?"
R (composing herself): Yes Sir
Dr Aman: "Kya baat hai?"
R: "Sir last night I realized one thing.. Something I discovered about myself.. That I cannot be with anyone.. I cannot have a relationship with anyone.. That kind of relationship.. My heart just doesnt let me..I will not be doing justice to you if I continued to be engaged to you. "
Dr Aman (shocked): "you have come here to break up our engagement.. suddenly last night you realized that you cannot be in a relationship with me? how can you do this Ragini?"
Ragini: "Sir, I understand how you feel, this must be a terrible shock to you, but last night I realized that I am just not prepared for any relationship.. I cant love you in return for your love.. so I wont be doing any justice to you or our relationship. I have been alone all these years and didnt feel the need for a Man. I got engaged to you only because I felt that was a way to return all your favours, but that is not the right foundation to lay a relation on. I dont connect with you, the way I.. "
Dr Aman: "I am glad you came and spoke to me directly after you took this decision. I am proud of the fact that our relation gave you the freedom that you could easily come and talk to me.. Ragini, I have always looked to you as a friend, a very good friend, some where I felt that I could be more than a friend to you, but I was wrong, that place is already taken by someone else.. I dont want me or our relation to become a burden to you.. So i think you are right.."
R: "Sir I am sorry.. I didnt mean to hurt you.."
Dr Aman: "No no Ragini.. I will not be hurt as long as you promise me to remain my good friend.."
R: "I promise Sir.."
Dr Aman: "should we take our rings off?"
Ragini (tears in her eyes and smiling and nodding..) Takes her ring off, hands it to Dr Aman and walks out.
Relieved.. she walks down to the kitched where everyone is gathering for breakfast and Tea.. Nachiket is no where to be found...
