Back with detailed comments.

This is one of the best Companion Fics here that I have read and I mean it. As of date. 👏 It's not easy delving into the minds of 2 separate individuals around the same situation. The common thread over here between the two however, is that they are in love - they are well aware of it but they are not sure of what to do with it. The feelings, I mean.

The way Ragini falls asleep on Nachiket's shoulder indicates that subconsciously she feels safe and secure when he is around. That's such a warm feeling.

And then there is that instant at the end when he enters a few steps before her, so that she doesn't witness the confusion and then the clarity of emotions and thoughts that runs through his head.

His dilemma is understandable, but he surely needs to work around it himself. He just has to answer one basic question - Would he want to leave Ragini all alone again?

Wonderful read. Thanks 👍🏼

Rachna Di, I seriously don't know what to say to this...where should I even begin? One of the best companion fics? 😲 You have no idea how much that means to me, especially coming from such a talented writer like yourself. Thank you SO SO SO much for your wonderfully kind words. 😳

I think they both are falling back in love, it's just that they are too scared to accept it. And Ragini falling asleep on Nachiket's shoulder...well, that's just where she belongs. The poor girl has spent so much time waiting for him but now that he's finally back in her life, she has to keep holding herself back.

Nachiket's resolution was what I was having trouble with in writing this piece. Somehow it didn't feel right to me that he would reconcile with himself so easily. So I tried to write it in a way that brings him into a moment of clarity, but still leaves the cloud of confusion in his head. You're absolutely right, along with enjoying himself in the short term, he needs to decide what he wants in the long term. Does he have the heart to separate himself from Ragini yet again? And he has yet to understand and answer that question that will really define this relationship for him. 😊

Its like this:
Hot chocolate and marshmallows for the mind ;)

About this companion piece and the original, it was so well done.. as Rachana said, it's really difficult to do this but you managed.. and so beautifully.. it was the slow, luxurious pace that we all love to read in a romance.. the loving details and the calming pace.. WOW..

You aced it, lady!

Thank you for this :)

<3

Good lord Sukhi Di! 😲

Hot chocolate and marshmallows?! That's just too sweet of you (literally)! 😳 I hadn't thought about the scene from Nachiket's POV at all, so I wasn't sure if what I had come up with made sense or not. It was hard for sure, but it's all worth it if it made you happy. 😊

Thank you so much for reading it; the real treat is in reading your lovely comments after every piece! Thanks for all your love and support, for this and for all my other stories! 😳

A giant hug for you in return for that high five! 🤗

Ok, now that I can give this my full attention...

Many things I loved about this:

1. Your use of metaphors - Nachiket's need to be in control and have a finite destination (beautifully illustrated) vs his situation now - he's still in control (not of his heart though) but doesn't know where he should be going. Instead, here he is trying to enjoy the journey with his Ragini, come what may.

2. His emotions as she fell asleep and grabbed his arm. Doubly so his feeling of loss when she awoke.

3. What his wedding band signifies for him

4. His decision at the end - it's almost impossible to give these two a happy ending at this stage but I thought you handled it wonderfully, between his reasoning and that smile - just enough hope that maybe they will find their way back to each other.

Loved it ❤️

Especially enjoyed how it wasn't a rehash of the first part, which is a trap I've fallen into many times before..fantastic work Shikha 👏

Nidhi! ❤️

The car/journey metaphor was the first thing I came up with and it's what gave this story its direction. I wanted the moment when she fell asleep to bring that clarity into his thoughts, and I had a bit of trouble getting that part to sound the way just right. I honestly think he married her in his mind long before that ring adorned his finger and made it official. 😊

And the ending was the hardest part; closing the story on a happy note yet still making it seem believable. I didn't want his problems to just magically be resolved, but I wanted him to at least put his foot on one path. At least he's starting to understand the situation so that he can make a well-informed decision about what he wants, from Ragini and from their relationship.

I'm super glad you picked out all those specific parts, since those were the parts that I really worked on in getting this story written. 😳 Thank you so much for reading, Nidhi! Your beautiful comments always make me smile. 😊

Ok, let me confess something here:

I was always the student who dreaded writing, both analytical essays and creative writing assignments. Honestly, I always had trouble with getting my thoughts down on paper and that was clearly reflected in the horrible grades I made all throughout my life. 😆 I never thought I'd write for fun.

I started writing fanfiction for this show on a whim, with the intention to write maybe one or two pieces. But as soon as I started posting, you all welcomed me with open arms and encouraged me to write more and more. I started taking steps out of my comfort zone and trying different styles, sometimes romantic and sometimes mature. Regardless of what I wrote, you all were there to support me the whole time.

Now, writing has turned into a hobby for me and helps me to relax after a long day, which is something I had NEVER expected. And I am most definitely a MUCH better writer than I was when I started out on this forum. It's only been a short while, but I just wanted to thank all of you for reading my crazy rants that I have the himmat to call stories, for liking and commenting on them, and for supporting and encouraging me. I've learnt so much from each and every one of you, by reading your amazing works and by going through your comments and trying to replicate the parts that you all enjoyed. 😳

THANK YOU! 🤗

*end long and sappy comment* 😳
