Hello Guys!!
I am new here and this is my first OS in this forum..I really hope you find it okay :)! Inputs welcome!
This is totally different from the storyline in the serial-Just a random One shot..
If you feel it resembles something that you have already read ,do let me know,I will remove it immediately :)
Forgive me for errors if any,didn't have time to proofread 😆
"Nachiket! Just get the saree from the boutique will you?"
"Yeah that sounds like a request alright"
"Okay wait... Nachiket my dear brother , the bestest in the world, can you PLEASE get the saree on your way home from the hospital? I have already ordered it,you just have to pay and collect it", Pam told him,stressing on 'Please'!
"Yeah whatever. I am doing this because I don't want you eating my head for anything, after I come home"
"Done.Deal.Pacca.Promise"
"I also want you to make me some pasta "
"Sorry bro, not happening"
"Okay then I will see you at home in ten"
"Nachikettt! Okay fine I'll do it. Bye", she said and cut the call before he could use the golden opportunity and make her do something else.
Nachiket rolled his eyes at that and directed his driver to take him to 'NeiRa Fashions' thinking 'What kind of a weird name is NeiRa?' (Nope,not at all weird ! You will know if you are a member in IF 😛 )
He saw the working hours and was relieved when he noted that it was almost closing time..He rushed in to collect Pam's saree..
"Excuse me..I am here to..." and he let his sentence trail off when he looked at the girl in front of him..
'Woah bro she is beautiful', his mind told him..
The girl tried her best to bring him out of his dreamland and waved her hand in front of his face..No response..She came from behind the counter and stood near him and slightly tapped his shoulder..That brought our hero out of his own world.."Wom umm sorry"
"How can I help you sir?"
He was blank for a moment and thankfully,before he could embarrass himself any further,realised that he had come to collect the saree..
"I am here to collect Ms Pam Khanna's order.."
"Oh sure just a minute", she told and went inside to be back in a minute with a gorgeous pink and purple saree..
"Wow did you design this?", he couldn't stop himself from asking..
"Yes sir", she politely replied, smiling at the compliment (Wow sure was a compliment 😆)
"It's beautiful! Thank you", he replied and took his card and paid for the purchase..
"Thankyou for coming Sir.. ", she smiled and he returned it before saying "Its Nachiket.."
When she gave him a puzzled look he clarified with "My name is Nachiket, not sir", he said and walked out thinking why he had a problem with her calling him sir..
His brain was ready with a 'You are in love brooo!' Love at first sight!' for a response..
He wondered if that could be true because he never really believed in that..He shook his head and walked to his car after giving the boutique one last glance..
It was Pam's school friend's engagement the next day and the friend had invited Nachiket too,as she knew him from when she was very young..Nachiket was never really into attending functions and meeting a lot of people,but it was the girl's,who was almost like another sister to him,so he decided to go anyway.
He wore a black pant ,shirt and suit with a red tie and Pam wore the beautiful Pink and Purple saree..The bro-sis duo reached the venue on time and were welcomed by the friend's family..
Pam went in to help the bride in getting ready and Nachiket was bored and decided to wander around the place..He was walking aimlessly,typing on his phone when he bumped into someone .
"I am so sorry", he replied instantly
and looked up to see the same girl looking breathtakingly beautiful in a red saree with black border (yeah unintentional color coordination 😆)
He couldn't take his eyes off her and the girl started blushing cos of his intense gaze.."it's okay..", she murmured and walked into the hall before she could let him affect her more..
"Arey Ragini! You came!", Nachiket heard one of Pam's friends comment..
'Ragini..What a nice name'..Nachiket thought..
"Omg you look beautiful maam", Ragini complimented Pam,who just came out of the bride's room..
"All thanks to you Ragini! You are amazing and I absolutely love this!Patha hai how many people asked me about it already ? You are going to be famous pretty soon " Pam said winking and added "ma'am nahi Pam bolo" to which Ragini smiled and nodded.."Okay Pam"
"You look gorgeous btw! Red suits you so well", Pam complimented her and turned towards her brother who was standing few feet away,seemingly lost in Ragini..She decided to have some fun after realising the effect the girl had on her brother and looked at him asking "Hai na Nachiket?"
He came out of his world on hearing his name but could only reply with a "Uh?"
"Where are you lost Nachiket?", Pam winked at him and looked innocently towards Ragini and the latter blushed knowing Nachiket was looking at her.. She herself couldn't stop noticing how handsome he looked in the black suit and the fact that he was looking at her a lot,didn't help..
"Woh..nothing I was thinking about the hospital and my shift for tomorrow "
"Yeah right..seemed so", Pam replied rolling her eyes and took Ragini with her to meet the bride..
The engagement got over soon and though they had a sangeet planned, the bride and groom wanted to have some fun and asked people to dance..Most of them were more than willing to and joined the couple on the dance stage..
Pam was dancing with another school friend of hers when she saw Nachiket looking at the stage but stealing glances at Ragini and vice versa..She decided she had to do something and excused herself and pulled Nachiket and Ragini on the stage..
Both of them were shocked and Pam smirked at them,gesturing them to follow the music and dance along..
Nachiket hissed 'Pam ! You know I don't dance'
"You don't KNOW to dance and you don't dance are two different things bro. I am sure you want to dance now", she whispered winking at him and he couldn't argue further.
Deep down he knew he wanted to dance with Ragini too,but he didn't know how he could be so attracted to someone he had met just a day back.
He didn't want to leave the stage and embarrass the both of them and so extended his hand towards Ragini.
Ragini was a bundle of nerves..She had no idea why she was feeling a mix of excitement,nervousness and fear at the same time..She blushed when she nodded slowly and took his hand..
He took her hand and placed it on his shoulder while he placed his hand on her waist..
She felt an electrifying sensation when his hand touched her waist and she couldn't get to look at him,fearing she might let him know how her heart was thudding loudly at the moment..
Nachiket could see that she was equally affected by him,as he was by her..This whole thing was new,something he had NEVER experienced in his life before meeting Ragini..
"Pehli nazar mein" was playing in the background and they slowly swayed to the music,feeling good in each other's company..Words were not exchanged but they felt content with the silence,somehow it was not awkward. The song was apt for their situation too and that made them smile inwardly..
After dancing for some more time it was time to have dinner and Ragini left soon after,thanking Nachiket for the wonderful time..Nachiket was surprised and happy that she spoke and Pam didn't stop teasing him till the next day 😃
The next few days passed by with Ragini and Nachiket not able to take their minds off each other .. They didn't know that they would get affected and involved so much,with just a couple of meetings..
Nachiket went to the beach, just like always,whenever he wanted to clear his mind..The calm waves soothed him..Just as he was about to leave,he saw Ragini sitting few feet away from him,looking at the waves and the setting sun,deep in thought..
'I am not dreaming am I? I might be..I have started seeing her everywhere nowadays', he told himself and pinched to check if he was dreaming..The red mark on his skin,in the place that he had pinched,told him she was there for real..😆
He decided to tell her about his feelings cos it was driving him crazy..He couldn't even concentrate on work much..
"Ragini ?", he slowly called and she looked up and was surprised to see him there..
"Aap?!"
"Haan I guess it is me", he replied chuckling mildly at her surprised cum shocked expression..
Ragini,who was also thinking about how her life had turned upside down after meeting him and how she kept making mistakes in work lost in thought about him, was really surprised to find the subject of her thoughts in front of her..
Nachiket decided to go for it .."Um Ragini..I have to tell and also ask you something"
The way he said her name gave her goosebumps and she swallowed hard when she heard what he said..She slowly nodded..
"Ragini..I will get straight to the point cos I am really not good at these things..I think I like you and would like to know you more..we hardly know each other so..hmm..would you like to go for coffee with me?"
Ragini's jaw dropped on hearing this..'How was he able to just say it,like so casually?I have been breaking my head thinking what to do about this..'
She came back to the present when she heard a light chuckle and saw Nachiket closing her mouth with his index finger..Her cheeks instantly betrayed her,turning a deep shade of red..
"Woh..um.."
"Yes Ragini?"
"Yes I would like to", she nodded nervously,smiling at him..
He smiled back,elated with her response and got up,extending his hand which she held and got up too..They smiled at each other and proceeded towards the car park,hand in hand and each lost in thoughts about how easy the first step had been..They only hoped everything would turn out well for them and for now,Life seemed beautiful 😊
