^^ I agree w ur last sentence there. I don't know how things in India work, I've only visited the country twice. But judging somebody based on how they appear is lame and sad.

I'm a physician by profession, so maybe we are just not at the same level interms of our values and compassion for life. I see pt's come in w lung cancer, who still continue to smoke even at last stage. I don't deny them care bc I don't like smoking and their choice to smoke contributed to the lung cancer.

I teach my kids to be compassionate towards everyone, be it a person driving Lamborghini or a person panhandling. Our Sunday's include going to the homeless shelter and making and serving food to the homeless. My kids sit with them, eat with them and hug them goodbye and there is no other way I would have it. It makes you appreciate life and make a difference in someone's life.

Agam and suhani have a rich dad. Giving that lady $100 is not gonna make difference to them, but it may provide her and her family with a better meal.

Bottom line: if you have extra money, sharing will not kill ya. you can't judge a book by its cover. Ur thought about how she was dressed and relating that to her being diseased is extremely disrespectful and inappropriate. I hope you learn to empathize in near future, but it's your choice, like it is Agam nd suhani's to correspond w a beggar.

Very nice of you to go to homeless shelter and serve them food and sit with them and eat with them.

In "controlled" circumstances showing such compassion and even allowing one's kids to serve these homeless and sitting and eating with them is kind of safe. But even so it takes a very large heart to be kind and bringing one's family to interact with such people.

Being a doctor by profession you must be knowing the ways and means to protect oneself from infections and communicable diseases. and you must be having your own reasons for allowing your own kids to serve and sit and eat with homeless people.

In India especially regarding the homeless and the people who beg on the road it is a different matter altogether. and there is no knowing what one might contract by being on the road or drinking tap water or touching surfaces outside of one's own home. Visiting restaurants where one knows hygienic methods are not used eating out from roadside stalls and other things may make a person contract any disease.

A person who begs on the road this lady is a con artist. She is conning people into giving her money. and that is because she is making money that way. and the kids use her for their own deceitful purpose even if that is for a good cause.

Now this lady could be anything. visibly on the scene she looks dirty. that is because it helps her "cause" to make money by begging. and In India there is no telling what an average beggar is capable of . He could be really in need of money or could be using a child to beg or be part of a larger gang and a woman could be doing prostitution on the "side"( don't tell she will not . being a beggar makes her potential target even if she does not want to) That being so very possible she has other types of diseases too.

Agam and Suhani are not on a community service spree. They are also conning. and using a beggar to their benefit. In this process if they touch her and get some communicable disease will they not suffer?

there is a Mother Theresa who looks after lepers on the roadside and helps them. God blesses such wonderful angels who walk the earth.

But everyone has to protect themselves in order that they are in a position to help others.

I still say that what Agam and Suhani are doing wrong by interacting with the beggar woman.

@pyaaribehna- I am sure the way you are analyzing even creatives wouldn't have analysed. Let's stick to the show and discussion related to the show and leave beggars/doctors/circumstances/ social services/ gangs/ peddlers alone.

I don't really understand what the diseases at this point have to do with anything. If anything, that remark is totally disgusting.
I read your replies, and honestly I am not sure if you know the concept of what the other lady was trying to say. She was saying that despite the lady being a beggar, one should not discriminate with talking to them just because she is "dirty".

This is so bad, I don't even know where to begin. I just hope that you don't carry this ideology practically. Being hygienic is one thing, but voicing your opinion on a social medium like this is another. It's true that you are entitled to your own opinions, and deep down I cannot judge you, but the comment about the beggar really bothered me.

I don't mean this in a rude tone. I am calm and just letting you know, that maybe the way you phrased this comment was not really appropriate.

The beggar in this soap opera is actually a reflection of real life. It happens everywhere. United States, India... everywhere. We aren't anyone to decide whether they deserve sympathy or if they are disgusting. Yes, they have used her and she is a con person. But it happens and most of these people don't know how to fix it.

When you're in that place, it's hard to try to fix it. Especially when they most often aren't sensible in how to rationalize their situation. If they were able to do that, then they wouldn't be in that situation in the first place.

anyways, I don't want to create a whole new argument because it seems like this was settled in the last comment. I just felt so strongly about the subject that I had to voice my thoughts. Thank you.

TV is a social medium. If it is not the fault of a beggar woman that she begs then yes you are right and I am wrong in saying that the beggar woman is dirty or whatever. I agree.

This lady has change for 1000 RS. and has two cellphones. Her begging is a natak for earning money. If she has so much money why is she so dirty? And why is she still begging? to make money of course.

Such people don't deserve sympathy. On top of that the whole thing is made out to be a joke kind of thing. Her begging, her having two cellphones, her acting , her having money everything.

and two kids conning their parents using the beggar. TV as a social medium should not be used to depict such things. even for jest.

Excuse me. Why are you so concerned about the beggar women? They haven't given us any details of her personal life. Why are you making such a big issue for no reason? It is kind of like wandering off topic.

Not to be offensive, just saying my pov.

She has enough money to keep herself clean; but then people would not feel pity on her and give her money!! It is a matter of survival for her; who are we to judge.

Oh and even if she has change for 2000 rupees, 2000 rupees is not at all enough to turn her life around! And the part of your comment that really appalled me was when you said 'touching the woman was eeks'. I can assure you that your immune system is powerful enough that it won't let you catch a disease by simply touching someone. And when you talk about her changing her life with 2000 rupees think about this: it takes money and SELF-ESTEEM for someone to change their life which comments like the one you made stop them from having. And yes there are people who beg as a source of income but by that you cannot say that all beggars are the same. In fact most beg because they really need to beg just to put something in their mouth.
