I honestly found them gaudy as well, but Ronit and Pallavi made them look good. So no its not just you. But, yeah they could have made them so much more classier

bold: true. in old days, bride's mum used to wear their wedding gharchola at daughters weddings,
.
as I said in another post, bride wears panetar (white/red) to start off with (from her mum's maika), then in-laws puts gharchola from their side around brides shoulder.
.
that is why I queried nivedita's saree which is white/red. It made me think she was going to sit under the mandap 😆 but seems might be bengali attire for weddings

Bengalis don't wear white for weddings. White colour is not used in the celebrations.

Ekta's shows have given rise to this misconception.

the typical garad saree (off white and red border) is sued for Pujas, and not for weddings. 😊

thanks. same in gujarati. white and black not worn at weddings, only bride white/red. but now a days anything goes. bride wears lehenga or sarees either in pink, maroon or red. some guests comes in " black" sarees or anarkali's etc.

Thank God! I'm not the only one who found the clothes in wedding gaudy & flashy especially Pallavi's saree.
Anyway I find fashion of sarees & Anarkalis in India now-a-days generally too loud & flasy!
