ahh just saw the second part two! love how you've picked up the scenes from the show. emotional and powerful chapter and everyone so in character. this is really great!! thank you so much for posting :)

Just read both the parts.. You write so well! Really liked it.. Love that there are both Ragini's & Nachiket's POVs.. Waiting for the next part!

His ears buzzed. His head started spinning. His knees began to shake. He was feeling so weak that he could hardly walk. Neil managed to go inside where he found a bench and sat down. He had to think.

What is happening to me? I am a practical man. I cannot let emotions mask my decisions. I had to get my act straight. He thought.

Just when he was about the throw the paper which still in his sweaty hands, he noticed Nishi outside. Crying. And a young boy trying hard to console her. He gave a kiss to his Nishi on the forehead. Neil's protective father side felt an urge to crab the boy from the collar and beat the shit out of him.

But how could he? He hasn't been a father to Nishi for almost 16 years. He felt he lost all rights. And that hurt him the most.

His own blood, had become strangers because of his choice. Because of that one decision. If only, he'd known it was going to tear his family apart.

But he was helpless then and he's helpless now.

Goodbye India, please look after my children and my wif- Ragini.

He spoke to his motherland in his mind.

"Welcome back sir," one of the maid's at Neil's New York house greeted her master eagerly.

Neil didn't notice.

He could not get rid of Nishi's accident scene from his mind.

What if anything happens to her again? I'm going to be responsible for it. Damn it! He banged his wrist on the coffee table in his room.

He knew he would not be peaceful until he helped his daughter, who he has missed every day of the past decade.

"Hello?" A sweet, soft, and feminine voice questioned on the other side of the phone. Her voice was still so fresh in his ears.

He was stuck. He did not know how to talk to her.

" Mein... mein..." he silently pinched himself. He felt liquid trickle down his forehead and behind his ears.

I can't back out now. He thought.

Ragini's POV

" main... main..." she immediately recognised that distinctive husky voice.

Nachiket.

She didn't have the courage to call him by the name she had always loved and adored.

"you?" she swallowed hard. "why are you calling me?"

" I... need to speak to you." He replied after a while.

It worried Ragini.

"what do you want now?" Her voice was going to break because she was on the verge of shouting at him for his betrayal. For leaving her alone in the cold dark world. She bit her lip so hard, she was sure small capillaries had been broken by her sharp teeth.

*Flashback*

"Ouch! Owww!" Neil held an ice pack on to the left side of his jaw.

"Ow, Raginin, my tooth. It's hurting"

Hahaha. "You're a budha." She said to him. He shot her I'll deal with you later' kind of look. She knew exactly what it meant. She blushed and bit her lips.

"Don't bite your lips. You'll make them bleed again... and then you won't let me kiss them" Neil said over her shoulder. He had that cheeky face on.

"nuh uh." She smirked at him. "I have to go-"

He grabbed her still...

"just one kiss..."

"nope"

" oh come on... it'll make me feel better"

Okay then.

She kissed his left jaw. The tiny stubble stabbing her lips slightly... the touch had a tingly sensation, which she enjoyed.

It was odd but nice.

" There? is it better?" and Neil picked her up

She started kicking in the air but he wasn't having it.

" You're trying to be smart with me, huh?" he smirked at her.

*end of flashback*

"nothing."

As expected, she thought.

She cut the call. And let out a loud whimper. She had to. Or else her weak side was going to be shown to the man who can break and mend in her heart in a matter of seconds.

Her phone ringed again... and again...

She finally picked up...
