PART 5

Khushi reached the AR office the next day and met Shaun .She was afraid whether she will have to meet the boss but he was no where to be seen.Her duty time was from 2.00 to 7.00pm.The AR office was situated in the same building where the new show room was going to function.Khushi was entrusted with the job of handling customer queries . There were only a very few staff members in the office.One HR manager, PRO, IT administrator, 2 full time office assistants and I part time assistant , Receptionist and 2 attenders apart from herself.Out of 10 members 4 were ladies and the rest were gents.Her co-workers were very friendly and helpful, particularly Angela. Angela was a very smart and very talkative person and was a big fan of the Boss.She was very sad when she told Khushi that he didn't even look at her while he was there.

Angela: Youknow Samantha,he is very choosy about girls

(why Khushi was known as Samantha will be revealed later)

Khushi: Why should you bother ?

Angela:Why you know, there was a girl working here before yourself. Her name was Susan. She was so obsessed with him that he kicked her out .But if he takes an interest in a girl he will sure get her and when he is done with her will throw her out entirely from his life.That is why he is known as "Ruthless Raizada without a heart".He is a heart breaker. Beware Samu..You're very beautiful. He may have an eye on you.

Khushi: Don't be silly..You're in a dream world.I'm least bothered about all these. I'm in a panic of adjusting my studies and job.

Angela: Don't worry about job. I m here know to help you.

Khushi: Thanks Angel.The name is very apt for you.

It was the second week of Khushi in the office. After the college she rushed to her work place. It was 1.45 when she reached there and she had 15 minutes to report in the office. So she decided to have refreshment from the restaurant in the ground floor. By 1.55 she rushed to the lift and while she was entering she felt the fragrance of a perfume she was familiar with very nearby. Her heart beat increased and without looking back she entered the lift.The door of the lift closed and she saw him standing nearby her. For a moment she forgot to press the floor number and then when she was trying to press it , he also pressed it at the same time.Their hands touched and Khushi felt a feeling like an electric shock and quickly withdrew her hand.He didn't ask her anything but was simply watching her.She wanted to hide somewhere.Angela's words were lingering in her mind. When the lift opened she rushed to the office. In her hurry she didn't know that her silver chain with the pendant was missing . The pendant was a beautifully shaped S.And she also had no idea that it was safe in the hands of somebody else.

As soon as Khushi was seated ,her eyes closed ,the attender came and told that she was wanted in the Boss's office.Her hands were shaking and the throat was dry.Angela was observing her.She asked whether anything was wrong .Khushi convinced Angela that it is because she was rushing from college that she is tired.

Khushi knocked on the door of the cabin praying to devi mayya.

Arnav was sitting on his chair and his gaze was entirely on the laptop in front of him. She stood in front of him.While she was opening her mouth to ask why she was called to his office,he asked:Don't you have the manners to wish your superiors ?

Khushi:Yes Sir, sorry sir,Good afternoon sir

Arnav:Have you got aquainted with your job objectives

Khushi:Yes sir

Arnav:I'm sending certain new designs to your mail. Check it and give me your comments before you leave today

Khushi: Yes sir.

Arnav:Ok then, start you r work

Khushi left the cabin after saying a curt thank you.

Arnav leaned on his chair,looked at the closed door and said to himself: Is Aman right? This girl seems different. But no ...these girls are pretenders.I'll prove him wrong.

In the evening by 6.00pm she went to his cabin to give the report of the new designs he sent through mail. He was talking to s ome body in the mobile by standing near the window.She was standing, holding the file. The call ended and he turned against her.He slowly moved towards her.The smell of his perfume evoked some unknown feeling to her.He came near by and stood in front of her and after a moment extended his hand for the file.Khushi was very alert throughout and her hands were shaking.She gave the file to him.While handing over the file he placed his long fingers on hers.Khushi was shocked , snatched her hand away and the file fell on the floor.

At that moment there was a knock on the door and Aman came in. He sensed some thing wrong and was turning back ,but Khushi fled from the room without looking back.

Aman slowly came forward, took the file from the floor and placed it on the table.Arnav, without a single word, went to his seat. Aman sat facing him.He looked keenly at Arnav which irritated him.

Aman:So I think the first trial is over

Arnav didn't reply.

Aman:And it didn't work

Arnav:What about the deal with the Mehtas?

Aman:I'm not in a mood to discuss it

Arnav: Who is the boss?You or me?

Aman:Ok.no arguments..The deal with the Mehtas is fixed.

Arnav:Good

Aman:what about your deal?

Arnav:you want a punch?

Aman:Ok..dear friend ..let us make a move .We have a meeting with Sharma groups at 8.00 pm.Forgot?

Arnav:Yeah..I know.

Both of them left after a few minutes.while driving Arnav was thinking of Khushi's response while he touched her. He was totally amused.He had an urge to meet her again.

His mobile rang.It was Anjali.Aman was sitting beside him. He parked the car on the side of the road and picked up the mobile.

Anjali:Chote,This is too much. Why didn't you come home today as promised for the family pooja?chote, what your friends and employees say is right.You are never concerned about other's feelings.You are really a kadoos without heart.

Arnav :Di, don't call me so.I'm sorry Di..I had an important appointment ...

Aman intervened:with a beautiful girl

Anjali: who's with you?

Arnav covered Aman's mouth with one hand and answered to Anjali:It's Aman Di.I'll call you later. Now I'm on the way for an important meeting.

Anjali:When are you coming home?

Aman released the hold of Arnav and said loudly:He has an important to deal to sign Di.So please don't expect him in the near future.

Anjali: Arnav, which deal?

Arnav got so angry at Aman who was laughing

Arnav: I'll call you later Di.Bye and cut the phone.

Arnav:I'll kill you scoundrel.

Aman :Arnav,Are you really serious about this girl?

Arnav didn't answer but drove on

Aman sighed looking at him.

He knew Arnav since childhood.His father was a rich business man and Arnav and Anjali's child hood was a very happy one. But his father was cheated by one of his friends and lost every thing except a small house when Arnav had just finished his schooling .Aakash was still in school.Anjali had already taken her masters degree and her engagement was over. But due to the financial crisis, her fiance and his family were not ready to proceed with the engagement . Arnav's father left home and for the past ten years there was no information about him.His mother died due to heart attack . It was his maternal grand father who sent Arnav abroad to study . The took care of Anjali and Aakash while he was away.He was totally a changed person by the time he completed his studies after 5 years.

Aman was with him till school final and after wards they met each other when he came home every summer.Aman could see the transformation in Arnav. Whenever they met they talked about the business he is going to start after studies.It was due to Arnav's interest aman joined for MBA.

Now Aman was very proud of Arnav.He knew how he struggled in the beginning.

Arnav was very gentle to girls. But something happened in his life which entirely changed his opinion about girls. He had only a few girl friends and he became seriously involved in a relation with Ridhika, his collegemate.. She was a very beautiful girl whom most of the boys admired. Arnav loved her and really wished to marry her afterwards. He even told Anjali about her.But she had cheated him in such a way that Arnav was not ready to trust any girl or to lead a married life.During a vacation Arnav returned to his college earlier than the proposed date.The same day he went to meet Ridhika but saw her in a compromising position with another boy of their college. It was then he came to know from reliable sources that she had many affairs earlier. Both of them never met again.He then decided not to trust any woman in future.Afterwards he had many girl friends but he never involved seriously with any one of them. His entire attitude became different. That is why Aman was so amused and confused about his intention towards khushi.

But Aman knew very well that he was a good person at heart. Only he and Anjali knew that.

The car reached the hotel where the meeting was held and both of them got out.
