Hi Mate, I'm back and yes new thread for us haha. It was such a beautiful update. I couldn't stop from grinning ear to ear. He really know how to shut her up. And Khushi's way of persuading him was simple yet cute, just like her. I loved loved loved it. Such a feel good chapter. Cant wait for the wedding now. P.S. My exam went really well 😃

Chapter 29

"Kitna kuch karna pad raha hai tumhe ghar laane ke liye" Arnav commented.

"Are you complaining?" Khushi giggled. Arnav smiled listening to her melodious voice that never failed to soothe him. It was the night before the wedding. They had, much to Arnav's hesitance, completed all the pre-wedding rituals a few days ago. But if it meant getting to keep Khushi to himself, he would do it.

It had been two months since she'd tried to friend-zone him when she'd come to his house. He made sure to make her realize that she and he would be much more than friends. After spending some more time with her, he'd brought her down to meet his family who had finally come home. He looked on, amused as she fidgeted, paced the room, bit her nails.

When he'd asked her what was wrong, she innocently told him she was worried his family wouldn't like her. He Hmmed, and told her that they would run away together if that was the case. Her eyes turned so wide that it could rival the moon.

The meeting with his family went well, as he expected. After all, who wouldn't like her? His family, specially his di, teased him all the way despite his glares. They were shocked at first when he expressed his desire to get married. They knew what he thought of such customs. But when they observed the two, they couldn't deny the love between them.

Nani told him that they would bring a formal proposal to her house soon. If Arnav thought that things were going too fast, or that it was too out of character for him to be thinking about marriage, he didn't show it on his face. Instead, he glanced at Khushi's radiant face and held her hand in his, feeling nothing but peace and happiness flow through him.

They went to her house two days later with gifts and sweets and Khushi's family stood stumped at the mountain of gifts they'd gotten, for the shagun. Khushi shyly stood by the kitchen, waiting for her Arnavji to show up. When all but him arrived, she pouted.

She turned and continued preparing snacks and tea. She jumped when a hand snaked around her waist, the sari allowing some skin to show. Before she screamed and brought the house down, she recognized his touch and relaxed back into his body.

The families agreed for the proposal, though they were unsure if Arnav babua would be able to handle Khushi. "Babua, think again. You'll have to handle her for life." Buaji joked. Arnav looked across the room where Khushi sat, looking at him mischievously.

"I wouldn't have it any other way, Buaji" Arnav smirked, watching her eyes avert and cheeks blush, while he remained unaffected by his family teasing him again.

The exhibition was happening in three days. They decided to announce their wedding on day three. For the next 48 hours, news of ASR being off the market went viral and much to his amusement, his company's share prices sky rocketed.

The exhibition went well. Khushi enjoyed every bit of it, spending as much time as she could with him. They had lunch together during the break, came and went home together.

After the exhibition, the prites announced the auspicious date for the wedding. Khushi couldn't control her excitement. Now, she would never have to make an appointment to meet with the ASR, she smiled to herself.

They got engaged soon after. Khushi's eyes teared up when she saw he'd picked out a star shaped diamond ring for her, with five bright rubies surrounding it. He smiled at her, knowing she would like the star.

The mehendi ceremony was celebrated by both the families together, despite the norm being that it would be done separately. When the lady asked what initials she should draw, Arnav slipped in slyly and said LG. Khushi's eyes widened and she flushed when he flicked her nose.

The sangeet ceremony was full of joy, laughter and crazy dancing done by the family members. Khushi looked on in wonder and shocked when Buaji shook her hips to the music. Arnav too gaped when his rainbow colored mami and nani danced as if there was no tomorrow. He looked at Khushi, knowing this day would never have come if she hadn't walked into his life. He intertwined their fingers together.

Haldi ceremony was Arnav's favorite. When everyone else was busy teasing each other, chatting and eating, Arnav brought down the cloth-curtain between them and dragged Khushi away to her room, ignoring her shocked look.

She'd pretended to be angry with him. She told him that he didn't love her as her mehendi had faded very quickly. He'd grabbed her against him then pushed her against the bed frame, daring her to say that again.

He looked agonized. She apologized immediately, sensing his unsaid feelings. He told her his love didn't need any proof and she fell in love with him again. Before she could say the same, he started rubbing his cheek against hers, transferring some of the haldi to her. She got shy and turned around, holding onto the bed frame. He didn't stop. He dragged the haldi from his hand onto her back, thankful that her blouse was low cut. She shivered at the contact, not knowing whether she wanted him to stop, or continue.

Before leaving, he cornered her against the wall again, looking deep into her eyes. When she asked what he was doing, he simply said he was taking in his fill of her since they wouldn't be able to see each other till the wedding. She looked down, overwhelmed by the way he was making her feel. He kissed her cheek. She clutched a fistful of her lengha.

Someone might come, she'd told him. Let them, was his answer. He kissed her other cheek. She took in a deep breath. She heard footsteps and panicked. He kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes. He looked down hungrily at her lips and she shut her eyes tights, waiting for stars to explode that always did whenever he kissed her.

But as the seconds dragged on and she didn't feel anything, she opened her eyes and looked at him questioningly. In return, he only smirked at her.

"This is for making me do so much to make you mine. I will not kiss you until you are Mrs Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada" He laid down the rule. She pouted. His eyes went to her lips and he cleared his throat. She batted her eyelashes and still he refused.

She pushed at his shoulders and moved her body against his until he was against the wall and she trapped him. Next, she leaned in very slowly, about to kiss his cheek when she moved to capture his lips. Needless to say, he'd been shocked but wasted no time in returning her kiss. When they finally broke apart for some air, he narrowed his eyes at her.

"What? You said you will not kiss me. So I kissed you" She explained to him.

She giggled and hugged him as he muttered "Minx"

"No, I'm not complaining." He told her, stretching his body on his recliner as they spoke over the phone. She smiled into the phone, extremely grateful that he'd agreed to go through all the rituals.

"You, however, might complain." He informed her. Her eyebrows pulled together.

"What would I complain about?" She inquired.

"About how tired you are." He waited for her question.

"Tired? But I'm not tired." She was energized, waiting restlessly for their wedding tomorrow.

"Not now. But you will be" He smirked.

"Arnavji!" Khushi was getting confused with his one sentence answers.

"Exactly. You will be tired tomorrow. And you will be saying that." He casually said, his tone carefully kept neutral.

"Kya? Arnavji kya bol rahe hai aap?" Khushi pleaded to know.

"Tomorrow is our suhaagraat, Khushi" His innocent voice did nothing to burn out the sudden flame of desire burning within her.

"Haan, toh? You predict I will be tired? Okay. I will go to sleep tomorrow night early. And of course I will say your name. Whose name should I say? Jiji's? She won't be sleeping next to me. You will" Khushi waited for his reaction. She wasn't disappointed.

"What the!" he exclaimed.
