Ruchi, that was too good. I was caught up in the whirlpool of activities in my AD. Sorry for the delay. I have been waiting for long now looking forward to something from u - a OS or start of a SS. And bang here it is. I loved this take on the sis-bro. Nobody can doubt or raise a finger at Anjali when it came to her relationship with her brother.
Nice one Ruchi
Please keep giving us such beautiful surprises

That was outstanding Ruchi👏. A wonderful tribute to brother and sister relationship😃
Loved how beautifully you wrote about the bonding Anjali shared with Arnav from Anjali POV.
Anjali remembering her childhood with her partner in crime is very sweet and cute.❤️

Ruchi, how beautifully you have brought out the bonding Anjali shared with Arnav from Anjali's POV.

In the original IPK we mostly saw the love from Arnav's POV but today reading it from Anjali's POV and how life which was perfect, suddenly changed overnight for ever scarring Anjali's heart too.

But even when circumstances were totally against the siblings, its the love they had for each other that made them sail through the rough times and the belief and trust that they are there for each other always, hamesha gave them the strength to battle all the odds against them.

Beautiful OS Ruchi. 👏

Now waiting to read more and more of your works.

Thank you Kavi 🤗

You voice it so well. That reassuring hand holding the other was the splintered piece that kept them afloat when life hit the iceberg.

Ruchi di, after a long tiring day. Like literally tiring day, I had no plans of opening IF. I didn't have the strength to. But I just checked the PMs and your Subject had me swooning. Especially the title. "Mera Papad ka Tukda" wow what an innovative title and extremely apt for this wonderful shot. Jigs the banner was the best! I have to give it to you both for making my day.. (technically night).

Oh Anjali and Arnav have always shared a Very special bond and many of us have termed them as the leads! But on a serious note, their bond spoke of Love, clarity and respect. It also made us love their mumma, didn't it? We all admired that faceless Mrs. Raizada only because we could perceive how she would have been, by Anjali and Arnav's behaviour. This pre IPK jhalak just made me wish they had shown tits and bits of their past. The happy past. I would have loved to see it, but you have beautifully shown a potential past. This is the reason we all urge you to write.

I am very glad you did give us this. Yet my heart yearns for more. You know why? It is because your writing has so much depth and layers of emotions wrapped behind every word. The writer in you keeps peeking out in the form of comments and we can't wait to see you take the plunge completely!

Waiting for more from YOU,
$@dh

Sadh, thank you so much for your warm sweet words 😳

I too would have loved to know more of their mother. Her children's innate goodness seems to have been a reflection of her. Her sound advice given to her Chotey, helped him see right from wrong at a crucial time in his life.

I really enjoyed reading this OS as much as I liked Anjali and Arnav bond in the show. Ruchi, the way you took off this OS, Anjali looking at old photographs and fondly remembering those golden days of childhood and family time is outstanding. I loved reading this POV of Anjali, how her life changed during these years. I am looking forward to read many more OS/SS/FF stories from you.

Jay thank you 🤗

Anjali and Arnav's bond certainly withstood the buffeting of the Trade winds didn't?!

Pranks, silly fights and inside jokes, what would our childhood be without them ... or even adulthood with siblings for that matter!

Edited:

I apologize for being late. I was typing the comment and I was interrupted by my roommate. So coming to the OS, I have always loved the fictions where Anjali or other IPKKND characters' POV is highlighted. And it is very rare in this forum, it is always either egoistic ASR or timid Khushi, if not always, most of the time. I am glad you chose to write on Anjali. Apart from ArHi relationship in the show, I loved the bond between the siblings. Remember how ASR helped Akash to win Payal? That suicide thing?😆 And how Anjali adored Arnav and how beautiful Payal and Khushi's relationship was? Thank you for exploring this relationship.

I am damn sure my big sister can relate to this, tum badi ho beta. One TV, two siblings and she had to sacrifice her movies because of my cricket obsession. Even after years, kuch nahi badla hai She still sacrifices and listens to my never ending drama and I still love her like my Mommy 😳 This OS reminds me of my adorable relationship with her and I thank you for writing it so beautifully!

I loved the OS a LOT and I am definitely going to ask my friends to read it. This is a beautiful OS and no one should miss it.

Thanks Ruchi!

Cheeni thank you so much for your lovely warm words here ,,, bilkul apne naam ke jaise :)

All the sibling bonds in IPK were so beautifully defined. As you said, when ASR helped Akash, much to his own bewilderment 😆 And more so when he asks Akash directly "Tum iss ladki ke saath apni puri zindagi bitana chahte ho" about Payal when they come back from that restaurant drama ... the concern in a brother coming out even while an ASR was saying "dekho yeh pyaar vyaar ki baatein mujhe samajh nahi aati"

Payal was the older sister who always indulged her sister. Her soft spoken nature a perfect foil for our exuberant Sanka devi! And Cheeni, Cricket > Movies hamesha ;)

Ruchi I am sure with your OS most of the readers have relived their young days with their siblings. Love: The word itself is overrated according to me and have lost its meaning at many levels however the most innocent of all i would say is the love of brother and sister; that too at the age that you have described. With age doubts and insecurities come in to picture and that is what happened to Anjali.

The only consistent or constant thing in IPK as you said was this love of Anjali and Arnav. Both were each other's anchor. With one Tornado in the name of Shyam, the weak one which was Anjali lost its faith in the relation and the trust that she had in her brother was shaken resulting in her
"Waqt badal gaya hain, Sab kuch badal gaya" phase of her life.

Beautiful OS and to go with this OS i can only think about this song. One of my fav singer and my all time fav genre of music.

Last but not least would just add and say
"Yeh Dil mange more Ruchi"

Its always a treat to read your words👏

Bhavi, thank you for your lovely compliment 😳

Memories of our childhood always come with that tinge of nostalgia and this ghazal you've selected says it so beautifully. The simple joy of sailing paper boats down little rivulets, our entire being focused on willing it to stay afloat!

Ruchi such an amazing piece. I must say Anjali's character irritated me a hell lot post kidnapping track but that was more because of creative reasons. For me even if she blackmailed or cried, she was a strong woman. Arnav always sheltered her but at the same time she too sheltered him in her own possible ways. She was the mother in his life post their shared tragedy and a mother can never be weak. So her being blindly devoted to Shyam was a letdown. But I have to say even at that time her love for Arnav was unquestionable.
You weave a magic with your words Ruchi. Their pure, inseparable bond was as clear as it was in the show. Their bond connects with everyone who has siblings. I loved how you have shown the childhood side of Anjali - when she was carefree and mischievous.
Write more..😊

Ayaat, thank you so much for always encouraging me with your warm words 🤗

I love how you've said it here. They were both incredibly strong and incredibly fragile in some ways, an interesting dichotomy which continues to fascinate us all. And sigh ... the creatives ... such mai kyu dard hai itna ...
