so right about that relationship. i was thinking today, after making a vm on asr khushi, that actually ipk is one of those rare serials where all the relationships worked and felt real. each one was valid. if you wish to, you can happily make vms on asr nani, asr anjali, khushi payal, khushi babuji, mami all by herself (oh my phaborite is she), even have little interjections from the servants, of course khoosie bua ji. and they will all be fun to watch.

they wrote it with meaning initially and each actor took the role so seriously they almost became those people. i saw rahim chacha being hari kaka in a show while surfing, wanted to yell, give my rahim chacha back. 😆

i realy enjoyed your anjali asr shot.

Indi you aren't alone... 😆 When I saw Rahim Chacha in that other serial my only response is to yell out "you thieves how can you take Rahim Chacha away from us".

Even lakshmi the goat is special. Ridzy (that mystique lady in blue - BlueMystique) write a whole OS on our lakshmi sometimes back and it was another Arhi story if people like it or not. If anyone ask how is a goat an Arhi story my response will be "d'oh"

Thank you for this wonderful reply. You perfectly captured my feelings about IPKKND.

Last time you made me cry with Wistful Reflections, and now...

Dont even ask me, I dont have a brother, I grew up between two cranky sisters 😆 (Oh dear, you know that whole history and chemistry😉)

No Rakhi, no gifts. Life do shuck man.

This was definitely a wonderful shot. Short and sweet, everything perfect. I always adored the way Arnav cared for her, the way he proved it every single time with his actions. Though Anjali had her fair share of misconceptions after Shyamu's ghar nikala 😆 she truly was the best thing about him, yes of course other than Khushi.

You know how I love the way you use Hindi words in your stories, I so adore that. Amrud, my favorite fruit and Aaamras... I miss summers in Delhi 😉

...

Sorry for being late, hamari marzi nahi thi, fever ne Ramanchi ki.

P.S. I am still waiting for you first FF, kaaab aayega?

P.P.S. I love you! 🤗

Indi, Re Re you are both so right!

Ria had mentioned seeing Lallan in another guise and I had felt ajeeb 😆
Still have this very proprietary feelings over all of them. They're ours ...

Re Re, Ridz's tale about Lakshmi was a riot. Brilliant imagination!

Indi, new VM?! I want to see please!

Thought I'll comment in leisure but that doesn't seem to happen soon... Thanks for writing this memorable piece... Your quiver has started to fill up! Good for you! Good for us too...😉

Rashmi 🤗

As always, you put it so beautifully. Encapsulating wonderfully all that I was trying to portray.

My quiver is burnished so warmly by all of you, it encourages me to keep adding to it 😳

What an awesome piece of writing! It was so heart warming... and had an air of deep melancholy, as well...couldn't stop my tears, flowing silently, while I was reading it!

What we would be, without our siblings? I don't have a brother, but I have a younger sister, and she is my rock. No one in this world could replace the bond, which we share with our sister/brother.
And how wonderfully you have written about this bond...in a bare few words...

Your writing is extraordinary Ruchi, please write more...will be waiting.

P.S: Loved the title of this story...it contained all the love, Anjali has for Arnav.

PPS: As someone suggested in this thread, I would love to read a story on Khushi and Paayal...they also shared an exemplary bond. Loved them.

Thank you so so much for your very touching words :)

There are moments in life when we look back with a "what if" and some moments with a "thank God". And hope that the latter occurs more than the former.
And I will always wish that your tears are that of a "thank God" <3

yes there is insecurities, fear of rejection etc in her...years passed by and each nd evryone dear to her happy family slowly vanished out of the picture but her chotte...he was, is and will always there by her side as a strong support...
may be thats why she emotionally not very much stronger and seems so fragile...
fab writing yaar...👏..
do cont wid this type of hatke topics...

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words :)

You voiced it very well when speaking of Anjali's fragility. There was so much that conspired to make her the way she was.

That was so beautiful...thank you for choosing to give us this particular walk down memory lane in Anjali's unique perspective, we often see so little of it, and even less often, the good aspects. She is in many ways the mystery woman of IPKKND?...I agree Khushi could be intriguing, but it was honestly the poignant, pouting, limping, cringing, laughing, whimsical Anjali that stole the show and the commendation for always being the soul of Shantivan, always giving her brother and her family undivided attention in her gentle, coaxing, cajoling manner.

And yet, she was not really only soft...some of the most impactful scenes in the show belong to her, the unique one between her and Arnav from the show for me will always be the Rakshabandhan ones...both the first one where she recites that little childhood litany she and her brother made up...while looking tearfully at him with wistful eyes, and the second one, where she is delirious with joy because he wore the kurta-pajama gifted by her...

This story was in many ways waiting to be told...thank you for sketching up atleast for our feverish imaginations as crazy fans...these little vignettes and scraps torn from an album...some happier memories of a tree-shaded farmhouse, a dadaji who loved them to bits, and the omnipresent 'maa'...thanks for taking my mind through those sepia-tinted images of Di and her Chottey...zestful, peaceful, lovely!

Your inimitable style is poetry in motion, my girl, make this a more regular occurrence and our more established writers here might have serious competition for 'Writer of the Month'! Love it! 😊👏

God bless!

PS: And, while your tale is in Anjali's perspective, the song that comes to my mind for these particular scenes is only the evergreen...'Phoolon ka taaron ka sabka kehna hai,
Ek hazaaron mein meri behana hai..."

Anu, I absolutely loved your wonderful analysis of Anjali's character here. 👏

It's your words which have the ability to move my dear 🤗

Phoolon ka taaron ka ... fits in with so many stages of their life.
From,
Dekho hum tum dono hain ek daali ke phool
to,
Jeevan ke dukhon se yun darte nahin hain
Aise bachke sach se guzarte nahin hain

Thank you for always being so warm and encouraging 🤗

That scene in the temple, where Arnav pacifies Anjali, is the first time you realize the depth of his character. To the world, he might have been ASR, but to her, he was always her Chotey, and he would forever remain so. One of the things that drew me to the show, other than the sizzling chemisty between Arnav and Khushi, was this beautiful portrayal of sibling relationship between Arnav and Anjali. There was just something so endearing about it. Even if we couldn't relate to anything else in the show, this relationship was the one thing we connected to. So thank you for reflecting on that, and making me remember once again, all the aspects I loved about our beloved show.

As for Anjali's pensiveness...

"Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk." - Susan Scarf Merrell

No matter what, the brother and sister would always have each other, and that is comforting indeed.

Ruchi, please, please write more? :)

My Dear R,

"Lottle and lottle" love for your Jalebi wale meethe and A ki eyes wale warm words ;)

That temple scene <3. The feelings of deep regret and remorse pulsating through Arnav's entire being was amazing to watch. And the way they showed Khushi's reactions as an observer was brilliant.
And those droplets of rain on his face ... those eyes framed by those eyelashes made even longer with the water clinging to them ... sigh ...

Lots of love hamesha,

R

For all of Arnav's arrogance
His love for his Di shined through
For all that is his life's essence
His devotion to his Di rang true

It was fun to imagine with you
Such a beautiful and carefree childhood
It was easy to imagine Chote too
Such a naughty and mischievous boyhood

Such an apt phrase - 'partner-in-crime'
They are that always, aren't they?
So complete is his protection every time
There is nothing beyond his Di, anyway

Thank you Ruchi, for this re-awaking
Seems, their childhood is pretty normal
Thinking of Anjali screaming is charming
Seeing Arnav being annoying is optimal

My dear Re Re, when thoughts are as eloquently and beautifully put forth, thinking can never be overrated! And I will always, always want to know yours (demanding much?!)

Thank you for being so warm, encouraging and supportive hamesha 🤗
