Meera!!!!!! I didn't know what to expect when I saw the dedication.. But didn't expect this!
I'll start from where my mind went to when I was reading this. On one of the Aarohan practices, there was a day when Arjun said he was trying to make another girl jealous, and Khushi said something similar indirectly..and the way you had narrated his expression and his sudden exit from the scene that day, made me suspect that he was actually trying to make HER jealous, not some other girl..and when she said that, he must've suspected about AV sir, coz if I'm not wrong, Arnav came into the scene immediately afterwards I think.
Then when Arjun told her about Arnav's fiance and she was shocked, he said he thought she knew. That must've been why he didn't think she was serious about AV sir, coz he thought she knew.
I'm just trying to see things from his POV. We girls don't believe people like us romantically until we are being told in clear words..yes, we do have those instincts and suspicions, but I don't think we actually BELIEVE it then. Boys, on the other hand, take it as an interest, even if girls didn't object to certain small things like name links.. This I'm saying coz of their school incident..where their names were written together..I'm sure Khushi saw it as an embarrassment and didn't want to keep that in the limelight so didn't talk about it and ignored. But Arjun might've taken it as an interest, who knows?
Maybe I'm digressing, but I need to put out all that is in my mind, so please bear with me..
So having all these in mind, just imagine how confusing he must've felt, just like Khushi in AV sir's case, if she actually liked him or not..
He was able to provoke her into singing just by annoying her with songs. I would see that as an encouragement from his POV, I dunno..
Now coming to the present.. I've got a feeling that seeing Khushi's behavior around Arnav (from the beginning of this trip) got him frustrated, desperate and again a confusing roller coaster-does she like me? Does she not?- what with her saying she misses him and all.. He must've noticed history repeating itself through innocent Antaksharis and unsuspecting glances, and might've been motivated to not lose his chance again..
And thus, this night happened..
If we fast forward to the prologue and come back here, there are certain things to consider too.. Khushi is angry with Arnav. Arjun tries to placate her (or something similar, please forgive my forgetfulness). It's a complete contrast to what's happening in the present. It makes me wonder, if Arnav was in the background on this night and heard Arjun's confession. If he assumed that Khushi might've said the truth that Tripti was talking about Arjun on that Aarohan night. If he tries to give them a chance and backs off during this trip itself. If these are the reasons for such a reaction from her in the future...
Maybe she also manages to tell Arjun about her and Arnav.. and maybe Arjun manages to bring them back on track as promised..
Whatever said and done, I cannot bear to see unrequited love. But I think in this case I must bear it. And to such a lovely character! Oh Meera! You broke my heart!
