You brought up another point of shadi I had problems with..

ASR's kurta. I have seen photos floating about on IF on how uncomfortable he looked sitting in it. And really, what a garish choice of print, fabric and style. The same people who in faux pas manage a cravat when a tie didn't look good were now selecting such wedding attire for Arnav Singh Raizada. Plus Barun's hair was non gelled and flopping on his head. All in all a very unappealing look.

In contrast, on the night of the forced wedding both ASR and Khushi looked beyond gorgeous. Barun sharp and stylish in what we love him best in. I found Sanaya beautiful too. With her hair open, in shades of carmine and saphhire..feminine, tragic and exquisite.

Rhea don't discuss about IPK's pathetic wardrobe. we even sent them petition to change Khushi's potao sack and to give Arnav better wardrobe. but sigh, our wish never fulfilled. Khushi's blue and red lehenga was not classy also. It's sanaya who managed to look beautiful in those horrible costume. i think Khushi's designer is actually a children costume designer. all those velvet, cut and paste rainbow tents look like some little girl's attire.😆
You didn't like ASR's peacock sherwani😆

Episode 336

I am on the opposite side of a laptop screen, not breathing the disappointed air of Shantivan and still I am close to giving in to Anjali.

"Humare Shyamji humein lauta do.. Hum unki patni hai. Humein unki bahut zarurat hai".. Return Shyam back to me.. I need him.. A lot.. Anjali shed copious amounts of tears and finally came out in the open to admit to her brother she is longing to be reunited with her husband. She is his wife and will always need him, she tearfully answers back when he questions her. For ASR its clear enough. Shyam cheated on di, how could she ever want him back, but di does.

I have always listened to everything you have decided... more emotional blackmail. I can't quite believe he didn't give in.

Then again, not for nothing is the man Arnav Singh Raizada. A character we can't stop talking, dreaming, writing about. The tough choice he is making made me think of him as her guardian. The decision he takes might not be popular, but it will never be about conforming to the expected. It will be about what he thinks is sahi. haha it's almost as if the choices as much as his clothes that seem to make this man the one I can endlessly fixate over.
ASR though was Anjali's younger brother, but he indeed was a father figure for her. He took care of her, pampered her as much as possible, protected her, loved her and what not. He actually was more than a father. so he had the right to decide for Anjali. My question is, Did anajli's love was tantamount? Absolutely no. otherwise she would've trusted him, wouldn't blackmail him emotionally.

When he had announced he and Lavanya were not going through with the engagement, everyone had questioned him. Even Khushi had been hurtful and blamed him. He had not bothered to explain. It was the right thing to do. Now its di and a much worse situation. Di is the child in a sweet shop wailing for the chocolate that actually hides something poisonous inside👏. And he remains strong to protect her from herself.

Even Akash, bhai's staunch supporter was swayed by the tears, but one person seems to hold strong.

Nani, the voice of reason. Today even she comes to losing her temper around dadi'd baseless accusations. "dhairya naahi khona chahiye".. Let's not lose our patience.. cautions the elder who is behaving like an elder of the family in this time of need.

The other elder lady, who prefers to be this blind fool, continues to rave and rant nonsense. Dadi blames nani. Our lovely nani, who is stern enough and firm enough to take her grandson's side. Nani, who trusts him. For all the years he has proven himself to take care of di, she will stand by his decision. It is not an easy decision for her either, seeing her granddaughter absolutely distraught, but she is wise enough to know that there is no easy way out. And she will stand by her chote. Time and again we get a glimpse of how proud she is of the man he has grown up to be.
yes nani always was right. Amazing personality she is. Only one time I didn't like her decision when she tol Khushi not to confront anjali after Shyam's revelation.

I almost wanted to stop the video when dadi declared with completely certainty that Khushi is responsible for all thats going wrong in Anjali's life. Outrageous suggestion!

Sadly, the world is full of such deluded people, who live their lives in pretense of this false piousness. We only want best for everyone.. their verbal motto. But they neither have the courage nor the vision to see through the myriad falsehoods and face the truth of life.
Dadi was obnoxious. she came in the house with a preconceive notion and extremely manipulated by Shyam. Her baseless accusation to Khushi was disgusting.

Nani trusts khushi. She was vocal and clear about it. This is not Khushi's fault.

Dadi however with full right blames that dusri aurat. Of course its all her fault. And her beta is the gullible pure man who was waiting to be waylaid by the scheming scarlett woman.😆 Everyone blamed the poor apple of her eye, her darling son, and no fingers pointed at that other woman. She was the one who committed the sin. She will answer to god. Her son should have come out unscathed of this scandal.
what a horrible woman! 😡

I have to give it to the writers. They couldn't have made dadi more infuriating even if they tried to.

lovely edit.

In his room, alone sits he. Inert, head bent. Ruminating about all that has happened. And though he is not moving, there is an undeniable energy and sheer life that radiates from the man.

Phenomenal.. that tortured defiant wretched look in his eye. What is he really to do? We have all in varying degrees been in such twisted unfathomable helpless situations. Though most probably we don't look as good while we face these moments.
loved this para. beautifully described his state of mind. he indeed looks more gorgeous with such serious visage.

"mat jao".. He implores in a voice hoarse with feeling. A certain right in it, but also simply a disarming plea. Wanting someone and admitting it, can be empowering it is own esoteric way.

Khushi is torn between being "good" as is expected or as her heart dictates. Most probably she had come in to talk about Shyam. Arnavji is in extreme pain, how to bring up something that most probably will only make him mad at her. Approaching someone rather difficult, and wanting desperately to help, but not knowing quite how to, is something immensely real. And in the midst of all this she is supposed to leave him and go home, because she can't stay with him in this room that they had shared for six month.
she indeed wanted to talk about Shyam. Khushi is a kind heart, she couldn't bear Anjali's pain, as she was driving insane for Shyam.
it was strange that being his legally wedded wife she couldn't stay with him. I really don't get this kind of stupidity of hindi soaps.

"I know".. Watching her internal struggle the man concedes she has to go. The way he is, utterly giving, in his relationships can be a study of its own. Magnanimous and hardly ever asking for anything. When he does ask, it is beautiful.
very good observation. I agree.

In that other fight he has asked her .. "aur main?".. Vulnerable and loving. Wanting her to stay with him.

"lekin ek min ke liye baith toh sakte hai". And she snuggles upto him.

This entire scene reminded me of holi.

Using his knuckles like a small kid to wipe away his tears. Not wanting to let her go. She resting her head on his shoulder. Then, it was a happy time because they had managed to shed the hatred they were supposed to feel and embrace the love that they actually felt. A blissful moment stolen from all the chaos.

Today, its in the middle of an awful lot of discord. No young newly weds, but a husband and wife battling problems which to a large extent are completely out of their hands. Worldy problems, but the feeling exactly the same. An oasis of peace right there, with her head on his shoulder.
they find solace in each other. In the hospital when she was distraught, sad, Khushi only tried to find solace in Arnav's embrace in sipte of so much drift between them.

Who would want to walk away from this? What promise to family, what seven pheras could be more powerful than this call of the heart? Of the longing to stay with each other in a time of need. Her presence is the balm he needs. She is the strength he seeks. 👏👏

I was just asking Indi di when was the last time we heard rabba ve.. And it played today.. Only it was the sad one.. And ASR looked at the spot of mehendi on his hand and again got a reminder of how ephemeral this illusion of happiness really is.

For he had been happy. For most of the evening he had been very happy. Even told his nani he wanted to look towards his future. Di had been smiling. Khushi dancing. He had held her, tied that dori, and even got a spot of her mehendi. He was celebrating. And it had all slipped away.

A cry.. And di left crying.. Wanting something which he could not give her. Demanding the one thing that was most harmful to her.

Please someone slap dadi. Please.. Dramaqueen anjali is also getting too much too bear..😆
You mean stopwa and rudali! here you go.
Oh he is back in his vest and rolled up sleeves.. Looking like ASR from far.. Closer he is too worried.. I like him angry, or distracted, immersed in work, or wry and amused.. don't be sad please..

Kissing his wife. A kiss on the head makes you feel safe, I believe. Khushi and ASR together almost are becoming stolen moments. I wonder why? When they were supposedly nothing to each other they got screen space to fight and fall. To happily rabba ve. This is an okay episode really, but I would rather be watching the spirited young lovers doing their ajeeb rabba veying with bluetooths and jilebis.

Ughhh dadi.. She is so insensitive and obtuse... I don't feel like watching..

it was a nice read Rhea.
i'm glad that you still are writing.
IPK was kind of messed up in these phase. The only thing what gripped us is Arnav and Khushi's scenes what Sarun's chemistry made it more enthralling.
I marked all the lines blue what I loved and my comments are in purple.

You wanted a slap for dadi? here you go.

By the way I also didn't like dadi when she asked Khushi to stay away. ASR's wedding peacock attire.. how you make me laugh with your comments Sohara.

Russian girls going crazy about the show.. feels nice.. lately I have been feeling quite listless and hopeless with no worthwhile news about Barun. Atleast IPK still lives on.

thanks, durga, for posting 348...

got to be one of my favourite ipk episodes.
mine too.

first time i saw it, i remember leaping into a post with "she did it, oh yes she did it..."
hehehe

i was proud of khushi... terribly. for scaling a barrier she had placed on herself in deep consultation with social norms... she had not yet made that essential connection between love making and love.. not realised, it's a little beyond sex and marriage.

sex is a physical act... marriage is a human made institution.

love and love making come from our hearts, our inner chords, what's in us, not what's told to us. or imposed upon us. when you make love, you unite with your lover, submit to a feeling, flow with it and say, i believe, i trust, i love.

sounds bizarre maybe, but to me the act of sex when shared between true lovers has always felt like more than just a physical act. though yes, it's all of sex too... the fun, the play, the physical craving, the tension, the yearning, the physical joy, everything.

i felt she made that connection at last. on the night of janmashtami, looking at radha krishna, thinking of pheres not done, she had hurt the man who loved her beyond himself... it became a question of sex when and what's right.

tonight she took it with just a little help from a devoted man, a very aroused devoted man, to what it really was... love making.

desire at its most beautiful.

i totally fell for the beginning of the episode. that corny, sexy dance. youthful, vibrant, speaking of desire in its own way. nothing shy or timid or unadult about it. a woman was out to tell a man, he was hers... no fooling around with chudails.
loved it too. Maybe my thought was a bit more bizarre. I wish if I could see Khsuhi doing pole dance wearing the most revealing outfit. I know that's too much to ask for a prime time daily soaps.

otherwise, cat fight and murder was on the cards.

he loved that open wanton wanting of hers... strangely it seemed to soothe him, filled him with joy, made him want to share what he had wanted to all along with her...

her stars.

and then one thing led to another... she couldn't stay away this time. not even when he was willing to let her go.

one night before that forced remarriage of theirs (yes, if any marriage was forced in ipk, it was this one), before the social go ahead to "it", she stroked his cheek with loving hands and said, i know, i understand, i trust.

khushi's submission to me has major subtext. in a scenario where sex is almost treated as a big bad thing and even married couples are shown to abstain for all sorts of cooked up crazy reasons.

but the thing is... neither is marriage all about sex, nor is sex only about marriage.

that inner element of this act... its emotion, its purity, its essence... episode 348 brings to light that. and makes it a part of their entire love story, right from that moment they met... and felt.

with grace, beauty, and absolute headiness. had no marriage taken place the next day... had no marriage ever taken place... even then it would be love making and the two of them, lovers. true ones. real ones. the kind television usually has no idea about.

uff the gifs! just took my breath away. Too carnal, too enthralling.
It was one of the beautiful episode of IPK and the most seductive, but aesthetic love making scene I've ever seen in my life.

I respect your thought about sex. But my POV is different in this matter. I don't like premarital sex. It's not that I was taught that sex before marriage is a sin, but you can say I am kind of disgusted to see people around me practice and literally abuse this sex game too much. I think there should be some boundaries and restriction between man and woman until they are committed. Commitment is very important for a relationship. And marriage is the biggest commitment.
I feel having sex after marriage is blissful. For me sex is not just a physical pleasure, it has to come out of love. It disgusts me when I see people have sex just for pleasure and next day they even don't remember with whom they shared the most intimate moments of their life. there are lots of other way you can have fun without having sex. i think sex is the extreme expression of love. and I just don't like loveless sex. people are deeply in love obviously can have sex.
I also believe in the institution called marriage. i thinks it's sacred and most beautiful thing not created by people but by God too. Though it's a bitter truth that in most of the arrange marriage couple have sex without love. But love grows gradually.
In Arnav and Khushi's case there was no question to break social norms or doing a sin. Cause they already are legally married husband and wife. Moreover I was kind of annoyed with arnav that he didn't make love to Khushi when the misunderstanding was over between them. Why he took so much time? I really didn't get why suddenly pheras became so important for Khushi while she was ready to have sex with her man in the hut.
I was actually happy that she consummated before the remarriage. And I absolutely agree with you, it was indeed a forced marriage.

Yes I will start writing again. Not right now though. I am just waiting for my semester to end.
IPK's costume was bizarre. we became frustrated in one point and gave up anyway. During Mrs india pageant Khushi told that anajli bought lots of new clothes for her. Saw her with lots of shopping bags too. But never saw khushi wore those new clothes. Only saw her in that blue and red Anarakli what were torn during kidnapping track .I think she sewed it for several times but still kept those.

I really don't know what Barun is doing. i think he is not serious about his career. You must saw his recent interview in the charity event. "I don't know when my movie is releasing." and laughed out loud after that. what kind of gesture it is! He at least should answered sensibly. It will be very painful for me to see him leave acting.

hi sohara,

great to see you and thanks for reading my quick one on 348 and liking teh gifs.

carnal... 😆 huh?

about sex. i guess i have been surrounded by a repressed society which is deeply hypocritical where the meaning of sex and its place in our lives is so bludgeoned, it's just plain sickening. and i believe this silly attitude to something as fundamental as sex has done untold harm.

i don't connect socially sanctioned marriage and sex. i connect deeply felt love and sex. not casual by the way love, or crush, but deep committed love, love that scales and attaches and abides. if you don't happen to find such love and marry and choose to have sexual intimacy within a relationship where there's respect, that feels okay. but there are many cases where there is marriage but no respect and sex is pretty disrespectful too and that is a complete no no for me.

i don't believe in casual sex at all. one night stands say to me you have no idea of the beauty of love and this whole me me must have sex just bores me. i totally get crushes and some physical experimenting, kissing, necking, etc, but to allow someone to get that close to you without the deepest of feelings... terrible. kind of wrong.

however if there is an adult relationship, such as the one asr and la had and there is an understanding between the two and they have intimacy, that is really their look out... and their right. i may not do it, but if they wish to... fine.

marriage is a blessing and a choice, and we humans make it work on this earth... and oh yes it takes work. a healthy sexual relationship where there is space for intimacy and fantasy and play is beautiful in a long term relationship.

i guess respect for me is key. not a formal signed sealed piece of paper only.

sometimes sex feels instinctively right. sometimes not.

for me, that rejection of asr's loving respect and joy filled gesture was really painful. and anyway, this phere obsession is a tv thing trying to pander to the largest group of viewers. there is no principle in this. indian television shows the most horrendous things and then says people want to see this...

and yes, they were legally married... so... exactly what this whole issue was i did not get.
it seemed to reduce both the notion of marriage and the idea of a man and a woman expressing love through normal physical intimacy.

i am glad khushi made a journey in her mind... it was good to see that.

pole dance he he... asr would surely have a heart attack. i quite liked her chameli bai type of filmi number... very very sensual and almost predatory. poor asr was smiling wondering should he pounce or play along, knowing how nutty his woman is.

i love these two together.

they show me the beauty and breadth of a feeling called love. when i heard a russian girl say she learned of relationship family and most of all love through them i was grinning and nodding. this deep understanding and complete holding up of a true emotion is really what ipkknd is about to me. i often think this will do more for young people and a healthy happy existence than many pompous serious sounding things ever will.
