The Diwali almost kiss is one thing...that was a moment where i can justify to myself with "caught in the moment" but what rreally gets me is that all the monologues she had with her DM after she started to develop feeling for this man and she must feel his longin for her at some level, which very evident in the epi she comes to return the key. ...not even once does she say "what about La ji?" or feel bad for La. With ASR atleast that one scene where he realized "what am i doing" and he breaks up with her...this goes to show he didn't realize just what he was doing. but with Khushi who is supposed to be a bherry bhery good girl, no shade or grey...it was harder to digest.

now had they developed La properly, i would hv been made a bigger deal. countless times they show her upset with the effect chamkili has on her guy...yet other times they show her sending khushi to his room to get him to help with something or "what are doing ASR! Go help khushi out of the candle maze"...what the! me being very ppossessive types...would do send my man to rescue someone i feel he has chemistry with...sorry...not.doing. that.

I wish La was played be a more talented actress, who could have handled a bit more and maybe the character could hv been explored more rather than used for convenience.

Oh La as a character indeed was a character. A very carefree girl with so much of attitude, money and power can not undergo the insult that woman had to go through. No woman in right state of mind will go and live with a man and his family. People here opt in for live in relation but that is just BF/GF not with family.

ASR shouting on her for every little thing, Her being intimidated by ASR and last but not least taking help from another woman who is working in your house damn it. Khushi was a paid servant. Whether we like it or not. She asking ASR to help her or even asking khushi to hold his hand when he is hurt😲 😲 . Like Anjali she too was blind in her own world. Despite being modern and upfront she could not stand for herself.😕

Were they trying to show that despite being modern La needed support and was not self sufficient whereas the seedhi sadhi ladki from small town had too much of self respect and was too strong.😕 . In real life i have seen many examples that girls from lower middle class despite having values when married to upper higher class creates chaos and issues in their married life.

Our shows just lack consistency and tries to show things that are not realistic.

ASR's dialogue on sasti cheez and mahengi cheez was more to taunt Khushi but is a true dialogue.

@ INDI - please don't get me started on the planned SR. Khushi's act was just👎🏼. All of sudden she realized that she was not married to him😕 when ASR was like she is his legally married wife. Does it mean that if you marry in court marriage is not confirmed?😕

The biggest issue i had was how did the Radha-Krishna murti appear in the bedroom of a person who does not believe in such nonsense or the person for whom DM is the best friend. Only for that scene it conveniently appeared😕 .

At times i really feel that why am I watching Indian soaps😆

teehee, yes, bhavii, suddenly radha krishna in asr's room... wasn't it the same one that was in anji's room?

but really, the other thing is more what gives me angry eyes and asr gussa, heck couldn't i be as good looking as him, uff angry asr.

what maddens me is the cavalier fashion in which woman characters are treated... look at khushi, la, anjali... was anyone spared?

why is it not important to draw plausible and individualistic women? anything goes when it comes to us... just tools to take a story forward. barun had sort of said that as in all our stories, this too is more about the man.

and the lie is ostensibly all these channels are making woman centric shows.

which woman i wonder.

i so agree with ami when she says khushi lying about buaji's health was disturbing, we are all taught never to do such things. and yes, suddenly her lying is cute... i liked that fab fight scene where he asks her, so what would she do, tell a lie maybe?

anjali was written with a certain empathy, then destroyed.

and yes, as sohara says some of the cutesie so called funny bits with sana made her look excessively silly... weakens the character...

maybe men just don't get women... we are always in that good girl bad girl mother tart trap... never us.

i have no problems with anyone being anything as long as it is convincing...

and the disrespect to women characters is sickening.

if the trp audience is taking this nonsense they too are to blame for this.

^^ Yes she lied but i will say that she can be saved for that. This does not mean that I support lie or any such act.. But at times men, especially some one like ASR leaves the other with no choice.

This is such a big topic of debate. Not sure how many of you have kids but be strict to them beyond a limit and see how conveniently they start speaking a lie and that is exactly what happened here. Khushi who never lied was left with no choice but lie as ASR did not want to budge.

At times change of place is must especially after what all Khushi has gone through and on top her husband blaming her for everything just because of his love for her sister. Every one was in pain and were blaming others for that. I guess this track was handled very realistically. In reality too once the bad phase starts to fuzz out, blame games starts and when it starts one needs to part. Everyone needs time out and time away from each other in order to understand better each other without being rude or unreasonable to each other.

Khushi was blamed for everything, Her wedding was a contract marriage and done to the person who does not believe in the institution called marriage. The guy had a history of dumping girls due to any reason. So how can she be sure that despite him telling her I love you - he will be with her😕. Contract wedding had bruised her inner core and so to me her act was justified despite I do not support or attest lie.

Missed all the La talk last couple of days..

To start, ASR is realistically good where as Khushi is tv world good, that is too white to believe.

While I agree with indi at the heat of the moment that Diwali day Khushi's questioning him was indeed an absolute treat to watch and it is IN character for Khushi, being the impulsive girl she is, not to think of La at that moment but only in an urge to seek answers from him. but her not thinking of La at all even later, for whose rights she has been fighting with asr for the last few months, was totally absurd. While asr being impulsive and being judgmental was much highlighted, he same light hasn't been shed and addressed about khushi, who is identical to him in that regard. both are them were flawed..

Agree with ami, Sana as La gave an entirely different flavor. she was very detached at times about asr- Kh. If it was portrayed by a seasoned actress, La would have been more convincing. But perhaps Sana's portrayal of La is just what the doctor ordered for a asr GF for the makers. If there were more emotions, more of her involvement...she feeling jealousy at every step fr asr- Kh's hots, this love story would have become a messy melodramatic triangle than the passionate tale it is now!

La has been turned around as per needs, the only time she was realistic was initially with her attitude and in her break up with asr..

On another note, in a strange kind of way asr always felt kind of committed to La. having La around justified his being I denial about his feelings for Khushi, he was super guilty the minute he uttered Khushi with La and broke off with her... how clean is this man! Esp, becos he knew Khushi is engaged by that time and not readily available to him..

Khushi madam, lot of hypocrisy in writing her, loved that initial gutsy darthi hai par karthi hai one. Upon entry into RM, how she intrude into ASR- La relationship was unbearable...laterwhen she didn't tell asr about Shyam even after the terrace, makers were only making her ultra unrealistic than mahaan..

agree with all indi had to say in that regard

Sohara, loved your take too, "La looked asr's allergy"..😊 true.. it did.. that's why so may discussions stemmed what made La stick around him for even that while, he was actually a true real khadoos with her not exactly with Khushi.. no girl can tolerate such indifference.. but again as I said that made the real love story shine beautifully...

Bhavii, it indeed looked as if the intension was to show that the modern, well educated, phorein bred La didn't have the arsenal to tackle his attitude where as the small town girl did. It was consistent in that phase. But the transformation La went in the RM was rather unconvincing..

actually each line every one wrote would reap bundles of discussions.. some time .. may be..

😆 Like Indi di, I liked the way Sana played La. And the character itself was fantastic, felt real. Her not seeing the ASR-khushi thing, Khushi was so unlike a woman that ASR would even look at. Completely out of his sphere, guess that's why Anjali & La did not read anything into it. Plus all the history of antagonism between asr khushi played out in a public manner. The few times when la saw that thing, they never followed up on that.
Were all the writers of the show men? Guess that explains a lot! The utter callous way in which most of the female characters were treated. Anjali, Khushi started off so well. Anjali came across as this educated cultured person, probably if we are to look at their background. And khushi, she was so enthralling, refreshing, that you could see why the khadoos had to get beguiled.
Coming to that asr setup SR, I was also what the! the conveniently placed radha Krishna murti. Do you guys think, if ASR had comeback from that drive before she slept off, she would've said, hum tyaar hai?!!!! He would've gone what the then!!!!! She was happy with that declaration of love, and they do show her sort of appreciating what he had done. Khushi's character was played with as and how they liked. Currently on the reruns, I feel the depths to which they fell, with the story and execution. But the first 200 or so episodes, magic! I still remember, the first time I saw the hospital hug, for me that was when I felt, that this was not your regular fare.

i liked reading your pov on khushi and why she lied...

i have a different view on this, especially because it is khushi we are talking about and her views on marriage. will write in my take on 296. but i abs agree, the feel was extremely realistic and real, palpable... brilliant acting and body language, need and hurt filling up the screen and welling over, and none of us is perfect... everyone makes mistakes, especially when we love we end up hurting the other... and feeling more hurt than them... not easy, this love thing. 😆

super interesting point, yeah, i guess chamkili was so not his "type".

lead writers all men, there was however a janaki v working with gautam hegde and gul kept harping about how she was very involved, her baby, etc. the rather heavy word "travesty" comes to mind when i see how the two main female characters were treated... also poor payal.

i think they tried to indicate that... but why would a girl who called herself patni in this cutesie way five minutes before the chaos (there was alsoi talk of babies, when she did super coy himdi film heroine act) suddenly go all crazy and say the marriage is incomplete... i loved asr's reaction and was totally stumped and enraged by hers... plus radha krishna never had pheras... so now what, shall we organise a "remarriage" for them too? despite many rounds of conversations on this... i have never been convinced and to me what khushi did was ridiculous... absolutely.

you are right and indu is dancing somewhere... first two hundred... beauty.

and all those issues of thinking of la, etc., could have been happily included later... the characters were still fine. and yes, while watching it again, it bothers me more... the first time round i thought things would develop meaningfully... even anjali's abortion... i had no idea they would waffle like that with her.
