I was reading indi's original forum post from that day on page 63 and flown straight into the thoughts how this all unfolded for all of us, borrowing from indi again.. Diehard Ipkkndian... I laughed at this term but take an absolute pride in being exactly that.. a diehard IPKKNDian... that day. . ...July 4th 2012...celebrated as independence day here in the US.. .. symbol of freedom.. how we were all here ecstatic at the literal freedom ASR acquired that day...at the symbolic freedom asr and Khushi's love secured that day.. Love until now held in the clutches of denial, some one's foul play, finally liberated... reaching, drenching them.. their first unconditional coming together ... with no fear of goons or a guile... with no confines of a bricks or bluff.. ..

Not exactly this epi, but the gutsy Khushi we all loved came back rushing when she put Shyam firmly in his place.. "zameen asman ka farq hai.. par ye farq aapke samajh ke bahar hai"... there is a sea of difference between you and arnavji , but this contrast is beyond your understanding..the sight of Khusahi all gagged up left to literally die on the road was heart breaking.. then there was a sight when even the non drollers of that time couldn't help .. oohing, aawing,. swooning... at the sight of a specific man in a down rotten vest flying away in a topless jeep with his hair flowing all over.. can we have more of that please.. drives in a topless 4 wheelers??!!!.. thats what we exactly felt that day...

I still do not know how many times he said Khushi... 26, 28 , a number read some where seem to knock.. but every time he took her name it came straight from his soul. Singing from under the belly is considered one of the hall marks of great singing, not just sounding from one's vocal cords .. it comes from much under below.. the impact hard to miss..
Every time he said Khushi.. it felt it came much deeper than just from his lips... his heart.. his belly.. his soul...

that reunion on the hill top... did he really lose Khushi.. his Khushi..
the power of love... undeniable... ASR remembered precisely how their hearts connected.. how they can not beat without each other.. how they beat for each other...how they beat TOGETHER.. if his is beating.. hers MUST..who said asr- Khushi's love is all about physical attraction, sexual tension and shallow... can a love be any more soulful and heart rendering...

The mandirt in the backdrop couldn't be a coincidence, but a spot on the top was carefully chosen to include that.. didn't Khushi pray to DM while praying in that bhoolbhulayya in the sheesh mahal and her path taken led her exactly to her man... didn't she lose her appointment letter to AR warehouse at DM temple before she commenced her work that led her exactly to AR desings instead of warehouse.. this is a union very dear to the supreme..

How much her habitual things like grabbing his lapel mattered He breathed life just along side with her.. with her "hmm"...how relieved, over joyed he was...a walk on with her in his arms... with a holy mandir overseeing... a sight to behold, treasure...

Irony ...a man who claims to write his own destiny can not take one breath without a frail, pesky and petite girl..

Long live my ASR and Khushi.. where ever you are...

Thank you all of you to celebrate this very special moment...

Beautifully written, Indu. That cliff top scene get you every single time, irrespective of the number of times you've watched it. That grabbing of the lapel, the man has noticed that from the very first time its happened and never forgotten it!

Sohara ,indi , Rhea and Durga 😊
thnx, glad u enjoyed the thoughts and the edits🤗

He wanted to kiss that hand that day when he saw his name in it...he touched it in the pool as it was hard for him to resist but he saw her scared of these overwhelming feelings , but he tried to awake in her those yearnings in which he is burning and that day he was disintegrating each second especially after teri meri...and NK who was provoking his patience...and he ended up kissing her first time...after that day this is his first lip touch...and we are again standing at the same spot...circle of eternity...

You are asking When DeviMaiya said that...

The destined Night...He was her protector ...all along...right under DM's ...Khushi's mother

Today and the day he picked her up in his egoistic denial yet telling her straight "you are mine..."...

or the day he sealed her Heart...with him...the Blood of hers that day was on his finger and he went after her and agin her blood is on his fingers but he let her go...aaj keh baad shakal nahin dekhni hai...and here her blood is in his hands...but"No! Khushi tum mere saath aisa nahin kar sakti...talk to me Dammit...

The Key of Hearts has finally unlocked all the doors...Two hearts one beat or you can say Two Hearts One key

Agree with Kizh.. lovely capture of feelings Indu di.. them and yours..
And thank you for rewatching the VM and liking it.

your comments on the flashbacks used in the sequence in my vm and also kizh's mention of the lapel clutching..

made me think of those memories of his..where she holds on to him even unconscious.. its these small things that aren't made a big song and dance of.. ASR never spoke of it.. but it remained imprinted in him.. the way she reached out to him.. the creators added in these layers to the story that made it breathe life. And then using all the flash backs at the opportune moments added much gravity to the tale.

In this clifftop itself as she falls he remembers the first fall. Indi di in her post mentioned when Khushi was on that ledge her last thought was sindoor smeared on her forehead.. his wife.. and here ASR's thought was how he made her his wife.. all the times Khushi remembers that diwali walk towards him.. all the times he remembers blowing dirt out of her eyes.. nothing random in the playing out of old scenes when mixed with the new ones.. it is like an actual person is looking back at his journey of love.. i don't know if other shows do this.

Is it the editing department that adds all this into the frame? Not sure, but whoever put in flashbacks was always right on mark. brilliant.

one of iss pyaar ko's most spectacular episodes gives us nearly ten minutes of deadly grandeur and beauty. every time i heard the "it's not FUNNY" in the promo, even if i weren't looking at the screen at that time, something would give way inside me. this time too, it reached right in and scraped something within. a man, a woman and love... was taken to a height again. clifftop? more like the top of a majestic mountain where the air is rare and the feelings pure... where nothing touches you except for crisp clean gusts of wind and mists of rabba ve and you smile slightly when she says "hmm", a smile that touches the skies. under the open sky he had rushed and held her in the rain... had lost his resistance, almost his mind, as he walked toward her just feeling a desire, unable to think... under this very sky he had roared into the night and let a trap claim him, again because of that very love... and just the night before they had spoken to each other though far apart, she sitting right below her stars, he with that image in his heart. what a magnificent place an emotion has reached... also, really, how many times did he say "khushi"?

welcome to episode 288.

here's "tenderly", a vm about the rescue episodes. it is long... eight minutes and a bit. with one of my favourite love songs that i thought went very well with the story.

i do hope you enjoy. please switch to "hd".

Indi Soothing lines and such a soulful VM...Love the song selection ...incredible scenes and all fit together like a puzzle pieces...

Thnx for this treat❤️

Thank you so much for sharing this Indi di. I vaguely recollect seeing it earlier but it felt good to watch this today. Loved the slightly coy hesitant Sanaya in this segment. Almost a role reversal from regular as she tries to explain her point of view. Watching this my flight of fantasy soars.. the cast must also have these deep discussions that we do why certain things are the way they are..

Thank you for watching the ishaqzade vm.. i am pretty sure you have watched and commented when I had posted here.. but it still feels fresh to you..am happy.. I think this is one of my favourite vms. and that last shot, also the first fits with the mood i also thought.

I have been been meaning to comment on your crooner post for a while too.. loved it.. I love all your crooner posts.. something instinctive in those which always stir..

you mention a lot of things in the past few episodes. i also want to go back and talk about those. I had no idea they were this effective or I would have not procrastinated watching them.

concise, precise, heart stopping..

arnav ji!
a terrified look.
a flutter of blue dupatta.
he turns.
quiet everywhere, a mournful melody haltingly makes its way through a cascade of beautiful scenes from their life.
she falls into his arms that very first time.
she is falling.
he snatches her out of harm's way and hugs her in the rain.
she accidentally bangs against him, earring caught in his jacket.
he winds the bandage round and round on her ring finger before the temple, it is the sacred hour.
dust in her eyes, gently so gently he rubs it away.
payal by the poolside.
her foot goes over the edge... arnav ji!
he puts the mangalsutra around her neck.
the homa fire blazes.
he is putting the sindoor on her parting.
fire.
rabba vey fades in, looking up above the mortal world with a single call of two words from the heart.
he has put the sindoor.
she falls.
the dupatta again.
khushi!

i posted this on the forum, soon after the episode was aired... have posted it on blast before... but this seems the right place post it, so here goes.

the first almost 10-minute sequence of the 3rd july episode was one of the most beautiful i've ever seen anywhere. we all remember arnav frantically looking for khushi, finding her, and bringing her back to consciousness. i was fascinated by everything in that scene, including what was said, with words and otherwise.

for diehard ipkkndians, here's the text of arnav's dialogues on that day. much laughter has been shared over how many times he said "khushi". i think i managed to catch all of them. count if you are a stats freak. just read if you wish to go over those moments again.

right at the end he says something very interesting. no need to say anything.

starting second sequence of 3rd july till last evening, 5th july, that's what he's been doing: not saying anything. or is he actually saying everything without uttering a word?

in these words of 3rd july lie the roots of many things we'll be seeing from now on, i feel. so, a ready reference. enjoy.

khushi!
khushiii!
khushi!
khushii!

he's looking for her scanning the ledge and the trench.
pause, he sees her.

smiles and makes his way to her:
khushi!!

rabba ve enters as he reaches her.
khushi, khushi, everything is fine... khushi! sab theek hai.

he gathers her close and draws her away from the slope.
rabba vey under.
cut to shyam's call.
back to asr and khushi on level ground.
he checks to see if she's alright, notices her hand lying limp.
guest house flashback, nainital flashback, remembers how she's always held on to him even while unconscious, and now her hand is motionless.

khushi... khushi... khushi... khushi, don't worry, sab theek hai, khushi... everything is fine (shaking her gently) main bhi theek hoon... we're safe now, khushi.

looks at her face, perplexed, worried sick.
khushi, tum kuch bolti kyon nahin... (voice thickening)... khushi, say something, dammit!

growing urgency, shakes her face.
khushi... what... khushi, baat karo mujhse... (voice rising with an edge of anger born of extreme worry) khushi, say something!
khushi!! khushi! khushi.
crash of thunder, music, he sees blood on his hands from the back of her head.

khushi! khushi! khushi, talk to me dammit! this is not FUNNY!
lifts her hand and starts rubbing it.
khushi, kuch bolo!! say something... please say something, khushi, khush-!
her hand falls to the floor, lifeless. crash.
he's nonplussed. mournful music strains in. he's beginning to panic, close to tears. looking at her face, imploring.
please kuch bolo na, please say something dammit, KHUSHI!
looks at her face cradled in his hand. hugs her to him, crying.
looks at her again.
khushi, khushi, wake up please.
pleads.
checks to see if she's breathing, hand below her nostrils. nothing.
noooh... apni ankhen kholo, khushi please please... just breathe... just breathe, khushi... i'm telling YOU TO BREATHE DAMMIT!

lays her on the ground, starts pumping her chest.
tearful.
khushi, wake up, please.
flashback, only voiceover, then visual:
khushi: phir aapke zindagi ki sabse achhi aur ranjhe ki zindagi ki sabsi buri ghadi ayegi.
arnav: matlab?
khushi: hum mar jayenge.

he starts and shudders at the memory of the heer ranjha scene.
pumps with determination.
khushi! khushi, wake up dammit.
voice wobbles even as he tries to stay in control.
khushi, say something to me...kh..

another memory in voice only this time:
khushi: samajhiye hum bhi tara bangaye... raat mein daayen se tisra, jo sabse zyada chamak raha hai, wo hum hai.

he keeps pumping.
no khushi, you can't do this to me, khushi.

he won't let her go, she can't just die. mouth to mouth resuscitation. no use. he is desperate. in ragged whisper.
khushi, please say something.
strokes her face.
khushi, please say something.
pulls her face close and in tears, eyes shut, presses his lips to her forehead.
looks at her face tenderly.

voice thickening with tears and emotion:
khushi please, please khushi... khushi, mai tumhare b-!
he cuts short the bad bad thought.
tum mere sath aisa nahin kar sakti, khushi.

he's wilting under the weight of the horrific thought.
sobs... khushi... don't, you can't do this... sobs

remembers at the poolside he's told her that day of holi:
jab tum meri paas hoti ho, to tumhare dil ki dhadkano ke saath saath mere dil ki dhadkane bhi tez ho jaati hai... hamari dhadkane ek ho jaati hai.
he lifts her hand and places it on his heart. holding her close he rests his head against her sobbing.
heart beats fade in dhak dhak dhak dhak. her fingers flutter, he is unaware.
tearful:
khushi...
hm! she says!
his eyes fly open.
hey hay heyheyhey rabba vey.
he looks at her, she coughs, breathing in, he wraps her in his arms. hugs her close, gently rocking.
strokes her hair and looks into her face.
tears choke his voice.
you- (i think that's what he said)
she tries to speak: arn-av-j-
he cuts in:
sh! sh! kuch bolne ki zaroorat nahin hai.

after this, there's not a single word spoken.

she lifts her hand and strokes his tear and blood stained cheek. he turns her palm and puts his lips to it, a joy filled kiss. tender and sweet. again he turns her face and kisses her forehead. music floats around them.
he folds her in his arms again, smiling delighted that she is here, here in his arms and alive.
rabba vey.
they just sit holding each other close, taking in the moment, one with the hills, greens, trees, sky. temple in the background.
rabba vey plays on.
he gets up, places her dupatta on her shoulders. she struggles to stand up, he moves to pick her up.
her fingers reach up to hold his vest.
a beautiful moment as he sees this. she is doing what she's always done, even when unconscious.
he is absolutely ecstatic, turns and smiles into her eyes.
he picks her up in his arms, they look at each other, a pause, he smiles, then starts walking.
he walks with her in his arms as he has done many times before.
she snuggles there easy, he is tall and strong and striding confidently, her dupatta floats, the temple looks on.

Indi even I read this many many times ,but still feels fresh as day one..those 10 minutes seem like eternity of IPK...Sanaya's innocence and Barun's emotions were emoting all sorts of things in us and yes some of us feel teary eyes at that moment along with him...

And that pride...he gave her this right unintentionally that she can have her hand on him even in her unconscious and that takes me her first dream when he saves her from Guest house and she sees his hand caressing her hair...

She gave him right to call her name , drag her , win her , touch her and all...Yes she is his pride...
