Dear Sanaya..
It is still 17th Sept in the land I live, so I hope you don't mind these late birthday wishes.
It was a lazy Fall evening, I turned my TV on and saw a rather weird looking girl stuffing samosa in her mouth, rolling her big beautiful eyes in astonishment that I didn't know at what... it could have come across rather crass for an elder doing so, but she did make it look convincingly interesting even adorable.. for lack of a better word...I didn't know the name of the actress.
I was always curious to know the story of this show with "pyar" in its title, but my inherent distaste for daily soaps kept me away. But after that initial rendezvous, following few days I saw that girl very adeptly narrating a folklore, engaged in an intense fight with a very hot looking guy, reluctant to accept help from this badtameez in a middle of the road brawl... then a very authentic drunken act in a truly tom boyish manner that even very established actors would be proud of and all of sudden the woman in her awakened by sensing her man in vicinity...I still didn't know her name... but by now I was completely floored by the versatility of this very fair and lithe actress...
She portrayed an entire gamut of emotions effortlessly.. and convincingly. I had to run to google that night for the names of the actors followed by a sleepless next 2 weeks to catch up with this interesting story.. and the rest was history! Btw, I couldn't really be empathetic with that guy she seemed to have a very interesting relationship with.. .. who would fall for a Rakhsas anyway... but he was a necessary evil.. an absolutely inescapably necessary evil.. wasn't he...as you.. I know your name now.. ...Sanaya Irani ...brilliantly portrayed Khushi's helpless draw as well as discord with him!
It was all sunny and hay next few months.. but it has to rain at some time.. when the writers failed to show their conviction, and let the character wander off...it was your panache and prowess as an actress that had let Khushi continue to stay and connect with me. I cannot forget the gay abandon you danced with in that dark green anarkali following a lackluster Swami calling. That was Sanaya dancing... the sunny girl spreading her joy and you said writer directors inserted dancing even when not needed just becos they loved your dance! And I don't blame them!
Your 100% dedication to your work and positivity all around is almost infectious. My show bid farewell.. but you had a hard time bidding that. I didn't get a chance to closely watch your other avatars as I am greedy and like package deals, where the entire package has to appeal to me.. but I am sure you would have been just as perfect.
On this very special day, I wish you all the good things. May you be blessed with versatile high quality roles. May you never lose that smile and always be happy.
So, wish you many many happy returns of the day Hamari Sanaya!
