Gandharva Rajkumar and Maya mohini.. truly bowled over... Jaadu tona is asr's turn...😃
I am on a Malayalam high since yesterday..😆.. altho my understanding is limited .. listening to some 80s Jesudas songs.

Yesudas, what a voice. He's called "Gaana gandharvan"!
If you like watching movies in other south indian languages, the movie I enjoyed a lot in recent times, a Malayalam movie written and directed by a lady and a wonderful cast of young actors (male & female). Its called "Bangalore days", comes with English subtitles. I watch very few movies, this one I loved. Had stopped watching movies in my language as they had become really bad in between. But now with a new lot of writers, directors, actors, some really good movies, with good concepts.

interesting that the malayalam version presents him in a positive light, a man who made his own life, i get dhak dhak at the very thought of such a man... any man.. but when it is asr, i have to quietly die.

gandharva rajkumar he is and she maya mohini. there is an apsara element to that maya mohini thing, and those good old stories of how a beautiful one comes and breaks the tapasya of a sage sort and completely beguiles him into submission...

i wonder if there are several other serials that have been translated/dubbed into so many languages? while everyone makes money, i hope the actors do too, usually there is a clause about dubs and stuff, right? and in the meanwhile i just miss this whole thing and wonder how anyone could finish it off so mercilessly...

Episode 250 - 251

Kahaan hai?
Mere khamosh kamre mein chupke se aake
Gungunanewali wo jhankaar kahaan hai?
Kahaan hai timtimaate taare?
Deewar pe lagke, itraata Salman kahaan hai?
Mere berang almari par karke kabzaa
Usme bhare huye chamkile rang kahaan hai?
Kahaan hai wo shaitani mizaaj?
Mere dil ko choota wo alhad muskaan kahaan hai?
Jab wo khud rahe door, toh kyun poochta hai man
Jo kare baar baar pareshaan, wo kahaan hai?
Kahaan hai wo raahat, ke main chal diya door?
Aise mein dil ko milta chain kahaan hai?
Translation:
Stealthily entering my quiet room
And humming, where's that wind chime?
Where are the twinkling stars?
Where is that boastful Salman on the wall?
Taking possession of my colourless wardrobe
And filled with shiny colours, where are they?
Where is that mischievous temperament?
Where is that naughty smile that touches my heart?
When she herself stays far, then why does the heart ask
The one who harasses time and again, where is she?
Where is the relief that I am going far?
Where is the peace of mind that I should be having now?

Nice Durga👏

yes , where is the peace of mind?

He is so much into her but his hot brain just doesn't accept that.

Rhea, oh yes by that time we were anything but sure that it was Shyam. The hints were always dropped left and right with the start of the will documents track. His blue bracelet was shown when he was rocking on the chair the fist time the kidnapper was introduced, All the kidnapper theories we were fancying went down the drain we thought. 😆 And then in 271 the profile of the kidnapper, hair style from all angles showed it to be Shyam esp when he turns back at Khushi and mamiji hiding behind the boxes. It was kind of a suspense only until the confession phone call.
Actually, i watched the show only from teej time when shyam's identity was revealed to be Anjali's hubby. So I asked those who watched from the start if they ever guesses the PG in gupta's house to be Anjali's hubby. I was told/ shown an article from before the show started that hero's BIL would eye the heroine. So every one knew it..😃

Kizh, thank you for that movie suggestion. Will surely check when I get a chance. I Don't watch movies much. that number came down even drastically after IPK. Must have watched some 2/3 movies last 3 yrs.
Indi, yes most of the other serials are dubbed too I.can say for sure for Telugu. Not a single reasonably successful one is left. Once the serial goes on air it's all channel's property. The regional channels must be paying all the GEC network channels hefty amounts for these rights. Not even the Production houses have any rights let alone the actors.
But I am not sure of remakes. I don't know of any Hindi serial being remade in telugu where as in Kannada and Bengali IPk is remade . Perhaps each region has its own way of gaining these rights, some for remakes and some for dubbed versions.

khushi is in police station, but scared to give Arnav's info, because the police wants to come to her home for inquiry. It can be dangerous for him. Or moreover the family will become tensed if they come to know about it. So she leaves without filing the report.

While mami was reading horoscope in the newspaper Khushi enters the house and saunters slowly across the hall towards her. mami's horoscope says that khushi, means happiness is coming to her life. She doesn't want this Khushi but that khsuhi. She quips; nowadays phatti saree became Dukhi more than khushi. She bumps with her and the newspaper fells down on the ground. khushi notices an ad in the newspaper about Prithvi detective agency. Khushi thinks to go there, as they will not come home for inquiry. she marks it on the paper. But her phone does not have enough charge to make a call. So she calls them from the home phone, but cut the call immediately, thinking if any body hears this, can create problem. But the call already received by the PDA. They call back immediately. And mami receives it. Naturally she got flummoxed to get a call from a detective agency. She remembers the last phone call was made by Khushi. She is incredulous now, why she called a Detective agency!

When khushi went to her room to charge the phone, Shyam took the newspaper; Khushi scurries fast after him and snatches the newspaper. She is already suspicious about him; in that case she has to be meticulous. She tells him, she was reading. Shyam also snatches the newspaper from her hand. He jests her, what she was reading in the newspaper, whether any news about saale sahab published or not. khushi exasperates to hear his nasty banter. She is also recalcitrant to get back the newspaper. shyam imprudently flirts with her, as she asked how can he refuse! He tells her to ask lovingly.

"I just told you to ask me lovingly, not asking your love."

khushi enrages more. Seeing khushi's irate visage, shyam gives her the newspaper back and smiles sardonically.

Pause: it's unbearable to see, during Arnav's absence shyam is trying to establish his entity every where in the house. you are so right... horrific to watch him misbehaving with khushi and also yeah trying to be asr...

Khushi makes an appointment with the detective agency. When she was going there, mamii sees her through binocular. my cousin is such a canidate for the loonybin. 😆 She follows her. khushi tells nani that she is going for grocery for dabba service. nani tells her why she is not sending HP? khushi wants to go by herself to get cheaper and fresh vegetables. mami gets precarious and thinks to investigate this matter.

nani thinks how can she go alone. So she sends chandu mama with her. chandu mama also wants to go outside to see some marble museum, what the king made for queen. khushi gets him, he is talking about tajmahal. She tells him, it is in Agra, but she is going to vegetable market. mami beckons him with her eyes that he should go with her. Khushi tricks masala mama that she forgot her list and she will have so many goods that if he goes with her there will be not enough room for him to sit in the auto. So he should go separately. Though khushi successfully fled from masala mama, but she can't evade from mami's suspicious look. She follows her

Isn't it weird that business tycoon's wife moves around by auto? How cum she doesn't have a car and chauffer! good question... writers are exactly in which lala land no one knows... also, given channel's fear of alienating "kitchen" audience and our ageold erroneous and ridiculous perception that wealth automatically means not good, i suppose achhi bahu can't be seen in car, must struggle for "aato" and be perceived as everyday common person... i don't know what but such a gaping hole there. even mami took auto and now they are both haring around town in several autos looking for the tycoon... satyanaash.

Khushi comes in the funny detective agency. It seemed she reached to some joker's place. most times they treated kidnap as a humour track, perverse absolutely. khushi tells them everything about Arnav. When they ask about fees she gets tizzy. Or moreover according to her wish if they would do the investigation in secret, the charge will be more. khushi doesn't have so much money so, she leaves. To see her worried face those funny detective are sure that she will come back. While Khushi was in the detective's office a person wearing black gloves espied her.

Pause: It's so unreal that khushi came to a detective agency without money. She is so intelligent, then how cum she doesn't know that she will need money to hire detective. The cvs only wrote Arnav's character craftily, but ignored all the other characters. And especially they did quite an injustice to Khushi's role. Today I was watching 265 in TV Asia, and I became spell bound to see sanaya's brilliant acting. I only find very few Indian actresses who can act so brilliantly. Of course there is no other TV actress as beautiful and as talented like sanaya. the whole kidnap story was bizarre only asr's acting and their love saved it and khushi's acting when they gave her a chance... they played badly with khushi and actually later did not spare asr either... sanaya is a very capable actress and lovely to look at, they could have done so much with this track... it was all piecemeal timepass writing... blame the hero for being away, though he is coming in all the time and write rubbish... everyone will blame it on asr's absence... uff the lack of integrity and talent.

After coming back from the joker's place, Khushi searches her phone everywhere in her room, but she can't find it.

shyam comes to her room with her phone. She left the phone in the hall. He again stars to flirt with her shamelessly, that she looks tensed and all. khushi infuriates and answers him grimly that he doesn't have to bother she is tensed or not

She asks her phone. Shyam adds wryly with his lips curving humorously, why she needs her phone that much,

"kaunse aapki arnavji apko call kar rahi hai."

khushi gets emotional again to hear his name. Tears well up in her eyes. Shyam just nailed her weak point. She can't control her emotions. He knows very well about their bitter relationship, what he doesn't know that in spite of so much differences and bitterness, Arnav and Khsuhi are tied with an invisible thread called love. The love between them is so visceral that already surmounted the hate. She knows how painstaking it is to think that arnav has been kidnapped. Or moreover, when he confessed his love to her.

shyam relents, he raises his hand towards her to comfort her. khushi moves back in abomination. She admonishes him tersely to touch her and he should leave her room.

hume chhoone ki koshish bhi mat ki jiye aur bahar nikal jaiye yahan se,"

shyam becomes frenetic to see her loathe for him .

Rather talking to him further, khushi intends to leave the room. If she could she would've given him a tight slap. But she can't show her abhorrence that much because of the family. She didn't want to let the family know about shyam, whereas Anjali was pregnant. She knows how precious Anjali is for Arnav. He married her and tolerated shyam for his di's sake only. During his absence how Khsuhi could take the risk to hurt Anjali

Shyam holds her hand and pulls her back like the way Arnav pulls her. Eww, what a disgusting scene. After Arnav left, don't know why cvs tried to show more Shyam-Khushi scene! Her whole visage grapples with pure loathe. Khushi retorts him angrily to leave her hand. But Shyam gets flagrant in anger,

"Why you feel uncomfortable when I touch you. Or your tears flow for the man who gives you so much pain. He has hurt you more than me, then why I only get the punishment. But he?

"You really don't know!"... She can't take the insinuation of her beloved arnavji and wished if she could tell him, because they love each other.

Shyam extricates her hand and turns around from her. He is now cantankerous in anger. khushi reminds him of the paper,

"For a moment I thought you must be thinking of the paper. Did you forget those papers! When arnavji was here, whole day, whole night, you were after those papers. And now when he left, you don't need those papers any more?"

shyam says he doesn't need the papers, cause he fixed the old papers. When he sees that he can't inveigle Khsuhi with his flippancy, he leaves in anger.

Pause: I was actually happy to see Khushi broke down in front of shyam. He again came to know that how much khushi loves Arnav and how much he hates him. There is no place for him in her heart.

there was an interesting moment there and i did think they might bring some complexity into shyam again, but didn't happen.

shyam is already enraged after having a tiff with khushi, and a phone call rankles him even more. Something wrong happened. Anjali asks him what is the matter and he answers her very rudely calling her by name. He only calls anjali by name when he is mad at some thing. Normally he loves to chicane her by calling her rani saheba. He realizes, what he just did, he can't upset his ATM machine. So he tries to coax her.

Khushi is thinking about what Shyam said earlier. When she was engrossed in thought, mami enters her room. Khushi thinks its Shyam. she was about to scold him, then see, it is mami. mami wants to do some talking with her. She will only questioning and she will answering. she asks her what she talked with arnav on the other day? khushi recollects his I love you. But how can she tell her that. she just says mami that he said he is fine. mami notes it down in a pad and leaves. khushi is dumbfounded to see mami's preposterous behavior.

.

Not so good episode. After watching fabulous 258 and 259, it looked really dull. Especially the detective agency was just a caricature. We know IPK always tried to show some kind of comedy, but it was not comedy night, or Saturday night live, it's an intense love story. So why this stupid detectives! I guess the cvs thought they already gave us enough dose of Arnav-Khushi in the previous two episodes, so why more?

it also felt so incoherent that the man was kidnapped, one of the most cogent man of delhi, a business tycoon and nobody knows about his whereabouts. I remember the media people were chasing him on the first episode. Where are those media people gone! where he was not in touch with the office since he left, why Akash, or Aman were sitting reluctantly. so many bloopers, but still love IPK so much.

"daro naahin, phatti saari, bhy fears when mami is heres..." don't be scared, phatti saree, why fear when maami is here. i remember i liked this crazy sounding dialogue, so made note of it.

i had actually forgotten this was the episode where nk is brought back. that entire prank with hoodie and fake knife had slipped my mind... i forget so many things, but watching ipk again was about the things i remembered. and sadly very little of those in these episodes. Nk comingj phir bher goings nobhun eej noingj

serial writing is not easy, the pressures are immense. there's trp... then writing for an amorphous "mass" is always tough, and the many restrictions that anything watched by everybody is bound to have. despite all that, near brilliance, and sometimes plain brilliance was achieved in ipk.

so now when suddenly there's barely any sign of it, it feels kind of sad and empty.

i was glad to see nk, but couldn't understand that prank. and did i get startled the first time i saw it? yes, for a few seconds... then it felt so stagey, one couldn't insist on being tense and worried, even though the man is tied and with kidnappers.

the only time during the kidnap track anything felt real was when there was asr on screen or both asr and khushi.

they were together in this episode only for a couple of minutes, when nk very sweetly gave khushi her wedding gift, a heart locket with both their pictures in it, so cute and nk like... khushi remembered her man. walking toward her, wanting to make love... he had carried her and laid her down on a bed of hay. it was a poignant and sensual moment. i loved the colouring of the flashback. I wonder if the moments chosen for flashback were random or to bring in audience attention or actually to show Khushi remembering exactly what those looks meant.

there was another flashback later of him ripping off the ventilator unable to bear the sight of a man misbehaving with khushi. i wish they had spent a bit more time showing us what she remembered.

payal and akash did some awkward movements in a sequence written to establish something about relationship, but for the life of me i could not guess what. payal was no dolt, so why would she wear two layers of heavy gold jewellery to an office party? unless of course, she had decided mami ji was her style guru 😆, but then payal used to have brains and guts, what happened to that? did marriage rob her of herself almost? not a bad story there, quite plausible, especially in the indian context, but then that had to be shown well and developed in a meaningful way, not just be explored through these sporadic bouts of payal in a mess and akash in a huff or whtaever he was in at that moment.

she knows it is not a wedding, not even a sangeet... and why was akash waxing eloquent about some woman who has started her own business despite being married? and why did akshay'e acting seem so off all the time these days? i think the only day he felt normal post bubbly's entry was when asr made that phonecall.

deepali tried to do a convincing payal but for a couple of months now her character is being badly mangled and not given any direction whatsoever.

i guess what i was watching was the slow undoing of a thing that had come together so beautifully that you'd never imagine this might happen.

anyway, akash felt a bit full of himself. the sweet akash of the early days who looked longingly at a girl and wondered why money was so important was gone. in his place, a slightly all knowing akash, bigger and beefier. now suddenly he knows exactly what his wife needs... a trip to bua ji's. but before i get there, was payal just mistaken for the house keeping girl or maid by a guest at the party... really? isn't she the boss's wife? and she was wearing a couple of kilos of gold... what was the average iq of the guests at this office party, pilleejh humko koi bataibe? the other day i was watching something else and same thing random guests being rude.. really when does such a thing happen in real life?

the whole akash payal thing feels like scenes written by a freelancer. that too a clueless, lazy, uninspired freelancer, or maybe many such freelancers. production house was perhaps not paying too well? not that money can always buy mettle or magic.

so we went to buaji's where again a scene crafted around humour said payal was uncomfortable being in akash's world and felt she was a misfit. made no sense, since this thought was brought up but never gone into... freelancers forgetting to keep track of each other's stories maybe?

bua ji was fun to watch... and yeah she was even isslimmer than sanka devi... i believe her. she was issweet and isslim

the only thing that had impact on the story and felt rather nice was the bringing together of khushi and nk once more as friends, partners... i liked the fact that we easily accepted there can be friendship between a man and a woman... not seen very often in our shows. also... now in this current situation, as he grew closer to khushi and helped her, later defended her, he seemed to reflect something nand kishore, krishna as sakha... friend; saving draupadi... in this case, khushi, when her vastra haran is going on before all as we shall see later as shyam casts horrid aspersions on her character in the sitting room of shantivan in front of everyone.

he sensed she was not herself when she didn't look happy as ever but was seriously concerned when she didn't correct his hindi... that was nice.

"achha laga na?" did you like it, nk asked in that innocent happy nk way of the gift he had given her... karan g is a sweet actor, fresh clean feeling, always felt like her buddy. in this friendship again that contemporariness we often found in ipk and that too realistically and naturally portrayed.

okay, now mami wants a "tatu" and khushi has decided tattoo art is "kalakari" 🤢🤢. actually, why not, many of our tribal people and even others have had a tradition of tattoo making for centuries... kalakari it is. but how many tattoo parlours would be convinced that mami is the one seeking this embellishment, not her younger prettier companion?

i am fairly untouched by the episode and restless to see the kidnapped one.
lots of forced hasee in it but nothing caught me. no phasee, no lassi.

'asta la vista, i say a la nk... he did sound nice.

NK has also come yet Khushi and mamiji are running around in autos alone looking at kidnappers food bills. Payal is not the only hard to believe one these days.. kalakari was very very irritating..

The choice of flashback scenes to show those moments in the hut intrigued me.. talked about it a little above..

You touched all the aspects of the episode.. Thank you for continuing to write and making sense as always indi di. appreciate it..

Indu, it was beautiful to hear that, wasn't it. I was bowled over by the description.

Yesudas, what a voice! Yes, Gaana Gandharvan, indeed. This is a lovely coincidence. When I heard the name of the dubbed show, Mounam Sammadham, I immediately recalled this beautiful Tamil song from the movie of the same name, sung by Yesudas picturised on Mammooty, his first Tamil movie. Its playing in my head the last two days. Here's the song.

Indi, I agree with Indu. Most of the Hindi shows are being dubbed in Telugu. I realised that when I was watching IPK Telugu. Any current or recently completed show, you name it, it's there. This trend is slowly picking up only now in Tamil. Don't know the scenario in Malayalam. In Kannada, dubbed shows are banned, that's why we have a remake there.

I think we should take this discussion to the chat group.
