the song

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

tu har ghadi, har waqt mere saath raha hai
every hour, all the time, you've been with me

haan yeh jism kabhi door klabhi paas raha hai
yes this body has been at times far at times near

jo bhi gham hain ye tere unhen tu mera pata de
whatever are your sorrows give them my address

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

mujhko to tere chehre pe ye gham nahin jachta
on your face this sadness doesn't appeal to me

jayiz nahin lagta mujhe gham se tera vasta
doesn't seem right a relationship between you and sorrow (sadness)

sun meri guzarish, isse chehre se hata de
listen to my plea, remove it from your countenance

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

I bow before thee, O Magic Maker!

You are a BABE, Ladki! Seven and some minutes of SHEER PLEASURE...why did it have to end!! It was racy, it was cute, and it was moving. How does THAT combo comb out??! Lovely, lively moments woven into the goosebumpy teri meri magic really done me in. This love story can be conjured in so many many ways, it is that beautifully intricately complex. The mystique of it, the charm of it gets me every time but here, in your capable hands, it has found a new narrative of sorts (as it does with anything you create!)...from one phone call to another with love and longing as interludes. No lull, no breathing space, no fillers...just precious stomach flipping moments...and the 'black and white' in the farmhouse is a deft touch, smooths it out, makes it more intimate.
And the ending is fab...oh ALL of it is!!

(On a personal note, am struck so dumb you have no idea...what i'm saying doesn't even skim the surface of feelings felt right now..)

Time to watch it again. Go!

my very poor translation.

asr: khushi kumari gupta, i'm not letting you breathe in peace so easily.

asr: don't you ever, ever do this to me again, d'you understand? do you know for how long i have been trying to call you! why didn't you pick up the phone, i was so worried!

khushi: must be amma, babuji! hello! i was waiting for your call! you haven't slept as yet?
asr: what?!!

asr: khushi... khushi, talk to me! are you alright? where are you!

asr: if you're done with talking rubbish, then listen carefully!

khushi: i am absolutely ok... i am at the temple. you don't have to be concerned...

asr: it's not about concern!

khushi: arnav singh raizada!

asr: what the!! why is khushi's phone busy!

asr: i mean... there's so much work to be done, how can you leave like this suddenly!

announcer: the dialed number is busy now.

khushi: who knows who the lord governor is talking to now... and that too just when i need to talk to him!

asr hears her line is busy: she must be talking to her fiance! (note gritted teeth)

asr disconnects his phone. a call where nothing is said...

asr: khushi, i love you.

khushi: first you put it down... then i'll again say, "no, first you put the phone down..." then you'll again say, "no, first you put the phone down..." are you from lucknow or not?!! and why are you quiet now!
(refers to an old joke about the highly courteous folk of lucknow who carry on with elaborate courtesies such as letting the other person get the first chance... so, you first... no, you first ... carries on while trains planes buses spaceships are missed.)

asr pretends to be akash.

khushi embarrassed: jeeja ji... that...

asr laughs meanly.

asr: i keep track of all that's going on with you.

asr: she must be sleeping... in some taekwondo pose.

Haylos,

Leaving "fantasy just like that and hitting reality running...breathlessly" is a superb way of describing the exceptional exploits of 259...an episode intact in memory for it's goings and leapings on... When it really comes down to the crunch, "love does supersede all", however frustrating and impractical and ballistic-making it can get. And the confession of it, the submission to it, washes away all else...pushing one further to put up with more. The timing of his confession is so critical here...for both of them. And so fulfilling to watch..

My quotable quote from your luscious take :

how simply he said it at last. how enchantingly she held the feeling and reciprocated. gust of wind and rabba vey must have thrown a party that night... at last these two had got it. at long last. so who could blame the wind for hanging around to enjoy the moment.

👏 👏 👏 That's what i call a marvelous musing, Indus!
I feel like i've already said my bit about the walk through the corridor, the dream and the intercut so i won't repeat myself...but reading your take has made me go down memory lane, especially down that corridor with Khushi, happily one more time. I really do relish it!

The edits above are gorgeous.

Rewarding to read this really was -- thanks for un-res-ing in no time!

issk,
thanks so much.
that is pink... 👏 👏 👏 👏 actually isn't love what it is ultimately all about. this weird emotion we seem to be having the gift/ability to feel and express and lose ourselves to. my analyst often spoke of submission... to this very feeling, before it... knowing that is all one can do and when one finally says, yeah... this is it... a crazy making time ahead, yet a sense of peace within... or some other deep meaningful word.

of course, love is the only path to crack the distance and touch the eternal... something terrifyingly pure about love, no matter for whom.

this was a beautiful juncture in the wind and song crafted love story. perfectly timed i thought, though don't ask me why. and both the ladka and ladki were wondrous. the completely silent communication on the phone...

a good looking guy and a gun, at the risk of sounding completely neanderthal and politically incorrect... something exciting in that combo, visually.

the man was superb in those scenes... i actually was troubled by those ropes. and if i meet rocky on the streets ever, he better watch out. 😆

me a babe, awww and haww and 🤗.

you really liked it? aaa, me bhery bhery happy.

yeah that love story... it's all there everywhere... not just in the scenes we clearly understand as love... plus the phone is the carrier of that divine thing... the voice. ohhh the voice.

a new narrative... um... i can feel my head swelling and exploding. you are so good to me.

they were so terribly cute in the scenes, i almost passed out laughing or feeling things or wanting to hit someone while watching and i know there are a few more calls but the length felt right and the story completely told.

sense of timing. the actors and the directors, of course the editors, they all had a fine one.

every time i thought of a phone call, i saw the farm house or teri meri in my head... had to make this to see if what i felt had some meaning in it. i never tried to rationally think it through or anything, just went with the flow... a dream reality thing to it, now that i see.

I'm not that good with words so cannot say what it was like to watch it for the first time late at night! The song, a favourite, remember hearing it for the first time, while driving, on the radio, mind went to all sorts of places!!!!! Wouldn't mind joining a morcha, dharna, revolution... to see these two on screen again! Why the hell don't they come out with a dvd set? Imagine future blast from the past threads... episode xxx, dvd 3!!!!!!😆
P.S: Do you think we'll ever get over these two?

kizh,

to answer that last question first, in ipk trad...

if such a day should come it would really be a sad day. to let go of a floating mind, a smile... a magic... tragedy. it's like getting over a guy... even if it's done and something is ready to go to the next... such sadness somewhere, especially when you can't remember the feeling you felt at the very thought of him. loss utter loss. sigh.. and this was so much more. so much. it is and may it always remain so.

episode analysis xxx dvd xyz 🤣 another million words from yikes that indi52.

i found kuch is tarah by chance and it fell like rain all over me... only today i figured out finally what the words mean. atif aslam's voice, especially when he does his own thing... yeah takes you places.

Wind and song crafted love story indeed.

Above in Red, the essence of things all in life...no matter for whom, no matter for what. Certainly for me.

And you are so wonderfully right about "a sense of peace" in the submission despite the crazy makings. A sense of empowerment too it comes with...everything else shrivels in comparison and becomes easier to tackle... reminds me of that beyond gorgeous kishore kumar/rajesh khanna song...and that line in it..."tum jo pakad lo haath mere, duniya badal sakta hoon main. Maanga hai tumhe duniya ke liye, ab khud hee sanam faisla kijiye". Uff. What a powerful hi-wattage thought. Loved it even when i wasn't old enough to grasp what it really meant. Makes my heart skip a beat and few till date. Can i brush it off with the arguement that it's too filmy a sentiment? I can't. I know in my small way that it's true.
Wait, lemme go get the song...
