Samin, good to see you. Respect Suchitra a lot. Not seen much of her though. Thanks for that song. As much as I heard and loved that song since I came to senses, never knew Suchitra was the actress in it.

Not good times for friends, families and fans of renowned actors. A few weeks back we lost Farooq Shaikh, a down to earth actor, well known for his good nature.
Earlier this week, we lost the legendary South Indian actress of yesteryears, Anjali Devi who was renowned for her powerful acting in various mythological and social movies.
Now, we lose Suchitra Sen. A beautiful actress. I haven't seen many movies of her, but the few were enough for her to leave a mark.
RIP

Hi Durga
I can't say I have seen many Farooq Shaikh movies but 2 that I remember and really like are Chasme Badoor which is a comedy and Sath Sath which is a story of real life couples and has some beautiful songs. Both have Deepti Naval in them.
it seems strange how quickly things change... When I grew up on Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge I never thoughts kids of today will already start finding shahrukh khan old!
Here's hoping Barun can make a mark in the film industry.. Touch wood.. He deserves so much..

Yes all those actors behaved older than their years. But in that sense our ASR is hardly a guy who dresses, walks, talks or behaves like the present generation.

His formal dressing is appropriate for a CEO, walks and talks confidence which also suits his profession. Ofcourse he doesn't party hard all night which a responsible business owner can't afford anyway and is very mature and aloof that keeps him apart from others, endearingly!
Heros of yester years behaved older to their age, unrealistically goody goody adhering to "rama is a good boy" traits. ASR is quite contemporary or even ahead to his generation in many respects, be it his respectful yet firm conversations with his nani and dadi,
or his romance ki ada.. ..pulling his lady into the room or to the pool side infront of everyone.. quite unabashedly...and sharing a moment with her... to his heart's content! Smoking HOT!

In fact the time Nannav talks to NK about the love/horror story had me rolling with laughter. 🤣 ..and still finding it difficult to breathe because of all that love.. Would willingly watch never ending episodes where they kept reminicing old stuff..

Aarwen, yes would have been great had Anjlai recalled that it was Khushi. And, could there be any thing dumber than Anjali NOT recalling atleast once that Khushi mentioned her fianc's name to be Shyam not even when both the Gupta sisters were trying to prove that in the middle of the RM. Drama can be prolonged in many ways but not at the cost of characterizations.

She was a legend for a reason. I remember one line that she said once which was a punchline- (If you have saved once a person's life becaused you wanted, do you think it gives you the right to kill him in another occasion?) I think most of us know which movie I am speaking about. She had some character. I have seldom seen her in movies wearing apparel other then Sari and her wearing a Sari carried with it elegance personified.
I thought it would be good to post a song on her here.

RIP...and thanks for sharing the song!
Hi Samin! Good to see you on the thread after so long! 🤗 Hope all is well with you!

Lovely post Horizon! ASR is such a well written character. In a world of television where men specially don't seem to have backbones or anything that shows a real person and not just a goddy goody boy ASR is refreshing. He didn't let Khushi go from his arms even while dadi was staring but let her fall from his office top floor when he wanted to teach her a lesson. Never did he compromise on his point of view to be good unless he wanted to for some one else's is sake. And he had so much conviction, resourcefulness , perception and humour ..

I have recently been reading a few articles written by Gul and really liked them. She seems like a person who could create a character like ASR.

Interesting conversation going on about the enigma, Arnav Singh Raizada. A whole thesis can be written on his deep character.
Only Gul could create a character like him and partly Barun is also responsible for this appreciation. He didn't let go ASR till the very end.
Arnav got change just for Khushi but he was same ASR for outside world, arrogant , ruthless, smart and cunning businessman. I like his professional traits more than being a family man. He was perfect in them. He was still in need to be taught lessons of being a perfect father for father, husband, brother, nephew, grandson as each moment of life is itself a lesson but unfortunately serial ended. I would love him struggling through these roles. I give him 75% for compatibility and rest is space for improvement.
He was a man full of confidence and passion. He worked passionately, hated passionately, loved passionately. He never felt shamed to show his feeling to others whether it was flirting Khushi before his marriage, troubling her in his office , expressing his love to her in front of servant, spoking out for Khushi self respect in front of his grandmother, hating and avenging Shyam for destroying the life of two important women in his life.
Words for sentences in his praise may end but his characteristics will not.
