I think we saw his goofiness on IPK sets because he was in company of goofy friends. It is not possible to open up with everyone. Even during MAMR shooting his IPK friends, Akash, Karan, Sanaya, Daljeet were there with him cracking jokes, playing truant on the sets etc. But we have no footage of him letting his hair down during shooting of 22yards. I dont think he has any goofy friends in Kolkata. (Unless ofcourse he befriends me!😆)

Moreover, there is the change of place, weather, food on location in a movie shoot. And he must be working very hard here because he is the main lead, unlike MAMR where there are many actors.

During ipk days he saw little of his family but atleast he saw them everyday. Now days pass without seeing his loved ones, esp the wife he loves so much.

And recently his health is down.

So...likethe little boy Mukul said in Satyajit Ray's "Sonar Kella' to a journalist who asked him to smile while clicking his snap,
"Aamar haashi pachhey naa!" (I am not feeling like smiling!) 😛
But that does not necessarily mean barun is unhappy.

Like you and all his fans I want to see the frequent flashes of his trillion dollar smile bhery bhery soon

that shonar kella boy was a doll, and some bits of that script were so uff.

you know wiwy, all that you say is true.

but if we see anything from barun, not only during ipk, even during bhph, there's a sense of energy and zany in it. whizzes you. every time. it's in his nature. in him. that is not to say he does not have a don't wanna smile side. being smart, sharp, deep and canny, he is bound to have that and has that i am sure.

but to see practically nothing of that essential barun in almost a year... i need that to change. what ails the boy i wonder... maybe it's the cheshire cat that stole his smile... or the white rabbit took him to a bad tea party... off with the head said the queen of hearts or perhaps spades, and in all of all this alice got lost, but it is time to wake up and get back to wonderland.
