Faiqa, I completely agree wit you in this matter. My heart just pierced into pieces to see the pain of Khushi. You know today when i was writing 195 in words, I couldn't type because my eyes were getting blurry every now and then. And my heart was aching severely. We know Arnav was terribly hurt and felt cheated, but how could he impose a girl without taking her consent. She had every right to know what was her guilt. Later in spite of her incessant queries, how cum he remained silent. Ok if he could tear asunder her with afflictive words, then why not he told about her deception?
can't agree with you more that if he was the decision maker of the family, why he just married her clandestinely, where Anjali and nani also wanted him to marry Khushi. I think they did it to create suspense in the story.
Cynthia I don't think Arnav wanted to bring shame on Khushi. Though he hated her that time, but he never wanted her to get insulted in front of others. so that when amma slapped her, he got angry and cringed inwardly later in his room. Remember how he antagonized the women in the mooh dekhai rasam for humiliating Khushi. Inspite of so much hate Arnav's love for Khushi was still there.
I think he made that decision to elope at that time because he wanted to use Payash's wedding as leverage to make Khushi comply to his demand! Also, to hurt her further is to deny her the full wedding with all the rituals because he knew those are very important to her! Again the pain and rage took over!
