i think this needed to be said, if we are to appreciate ipk truly.

they were unfair to the female lead character, in order to tell teh stoory and create a strong male character.

a while back, barun in his uh ah er um way had said as much... that this is a male centric show with the woman given a lesser role somehow and he'd said this kind of happens in our world.

that is so true.

however, this story had the power to make space for both characters...

writing is a tough job. needs loads of imagination and constant thread finding. can get tiring, especially when working for a daily serial. the only way you can stay fair to characters perhaps if you believe in them all and try and feel them as much as possible. even then, thread will go haywire sometimes, but the validity of the character will keep things intact in the viewers' mind.

here khushi was never quite understood.

you are right... how come khushi never told anyone what shyam was doing while asr was kidnapped? no sense. but we shall overlook and continue to watch... 😆 because silliness/bad characterisation/weird loopholes paas aane de ya na de, mohabbat kabhi door jaane na de.

about the acting which you refer to above in red, my opinion, no one even comes close to barun. sanaya is brilliant in parts, but sometimes very good, not all the way to brilliant. but barun, almost every scene just too good. okay, till 186, there has been only one or may be two places where i've felt he could have pushed it a bit or was a little out of it. it's in the quality of his performance i feel... he just takes it somewhere else... he becomes the character... so almost anything seems natural. not an actor acting. i hope he never loses this quality.

i do however like utkarsha naik and feel she is really talented and jayshree t was a lovely nani ji... a lot of nuance in her acting, again most natural. barun and jayshree complimented each other perfectly.

i never found akshay dogra to be a strong actor, but he seemed rather sweet and at times interpreted akash nicely... a certain lovely gentleness with a touch of the goofy... but to grow and flesh out a character you need to give it more...my feeling, not the only way to look at it no doubt.
