Sheetal Maulik bids farewell to Meri Bhavya Life, joins Star Plus’ Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad

Actress Sheetal Maulik has exited Meri Bhavya Life and joined Star Plus’ new show Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad, where she will be seen playing the antagonist Ambika. Known for her versatile roles on television, Sheetal is now all set to explore a new character that blends sweetness with manipulation.

Talking about her decision to leave Meri Bhavya Life, which stars Prisha Dhatwalia and Karan Vohra, Sheetal shared her perspective on moving on from the project. “Playing Priya was a meaningful chapter in my career. Although the role didn’t shape up as I had initially hoped in terms of development, I am truly grateful for the wonderful people I met on set. The relationships I’ve built there are something I’ll always cherish — those bonds made the journey worthwhile,” she said.

In Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad, Sheetal steps into the role of Ambika, replacing actress Khalida Jan. Describing her new character, she said, “I’m thrilled to be portraying Ambika, the middle daughter-in-law of the family. She’s an interesting mix of kindness and quiet manipulation. While she appears soft-spoken and caring on the surface, there’s much more going on behind her actions.”

Sheetal explained that Ambika is someone who manages the complexities of family life with grace and intelligence, often gaining the admiration of the elders. “She has subtle motives but wraps them in warmth and politeness, making her a layered and intriguing personality. As an actor, exploring these contrasts is both exciting and challenging,” she added.

This is also Sheetal’s first experience stepping into a role previously played by another actor. She expressed gratitude towards the Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad team for making the transition smooth. “Replacing someone is never easy, but the entire cast, crew, director, and creative team have been incredibly supportive. I’m enjoying playing Ambika and discovering new aspects of her personality every day. It’s helping me grow as a performer,” she shared.

Sheetal Maulik is well known for her role as Sonali Chavan in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and has been part of popular shows like Deewaniyat, Suhaagan, Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, Pyaar Ki Luka Chuppi, and Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai.

Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad stars Afia Tayebali and Abrar Qazi in the lead roles. It is the Hindi remake of the Bengali series Kotha and explores the story of Katha, a nature lover, and Uday, a chef. The series highlights their contrasting lives and how love blooms in the middle of their differences.
