Oh no! We are not on the same page here.

Ego is when a writer thinks whatever is being written in the name of a story will be read over here (IF) just because they assume they are 'popular''.

Ego is when a writer decides to stop writing here (here means IF) as there are no enough comments when compared to the earlier chapters. Reasons for lesser comments may be due to the story losing its plot or the writers' high- handed behavior.

Ego is when 2 people don't agree to disagree.

That way ego is both ways. When an author shows her egoistic side, a reader becomes silent. When a reader is egoistic, he/she is silent. So both ways well they are silent! It doesn't matter. Their wish :)

Recently, through the TM, I came to know that stories which gets more than 20 pages of comments are considered popular

This thread isn't for discussing the benchmarks for popularity. May be this can be discussed elsewhere.

Wasn't discussing, just point it out :)

And yeah, thanks for coming back to this thread!

Oh I had to come back!

I too face this type of behavior from a writer here...Hell I even liked and commented every chapters more or less frm inception...But I am denied of private blog acess which the person suddenly did...I even pmed for the link and the person simply ignored my pm by putting a note on the blog " like blog link depend on us...
I got so offended even that person ever give me link I will never read the stories...
i dislike this type of attitude , arrogancy. When I respect someone I think I too expect same frm that person...

U have exactly penned down my thoughts...I agree with u exactly... Appreciation should be frm inside not a forced one...Beside appreciation I think writer should be prepared for criticization too... I like those writers in the face of criticisations too managed to hold up their story without moulding it as per demands...
-numbers are less of such writers😊

Other things I dislike are sudden discontinuation of a story...
*sigh*

or suddenly continuing story once written in IF in blogs that too restricted to few...who daily coaxed the writers...
My question is when u r not too sure about a story or may tend to discontinue due to hard schedules then why start at the first place...
-i understand sometimes asli duniya becomes hard and you have to leave IF but than a writer can put a small summary and end the story..writer bhi khush readers bhi...😳

again when u want to update in the private blog only that too restricted too few... then why post prologue and initial chapters in the IF that too can be read by all members...Is it to gather fans?????
-oh yes.. and if you want the links of blog all you need to do is beg them or flatter them or praise them..🤢 as if we people have no self respect..

Thirdly some of the attitude of writers as u had mentioned like hell I am updating in a busy schedule and will give update whenever I feel like may be 2/4/6/8 moths or I yr... But u readers go on commenting as u have nothing else to do...
-hahaha hum toh velle hai na..

I think the biggest compliment that a writer need that number of views he/she getting...not some forced appreciation and comments...
-trust me writers out there who are fab, they writes for themselves not for others comments are just bonus point

And here some of us though busy still try to read ffs here as we find them fascinating...sometimes have to get away with mere liking without commenting due to time constraint...
-i remember when i had classes i used to read in breaks or while travelling but then also i always left if not long two words comment for sure..

Writers have to understand that we readers too have our real life and have corresponding responsibilities jst like them...still we try to like or comment the updates sometimes if not regularly due to time constraints...
-true😊

I am one of those who does not reply to comments
I barely have time to write the story
I write for pleasure
If people comment I am happy
If not I don't mind silent readers

I am not counting

For me it is enough to get the story out and entertain

But ys, I feel happy to receive a comment

I do drop a note if I cant update

Least I can do

But you know something

Not dropping a comment or hitting a like but reading the story

is like eating food enjoying it and not even thinking of the effort of the chef

so yes, silent reading is not great

but it's a choice

-here i am not trying to clear the stand of a silent reader...i am talking about the readers who once used to comment on every updates they read but later turn into silent one just because the writers mistreated them.. for a person

so yes, silent reading is not great
here i will say again i am not talking about the silent readers😕

but it's a choice
sorry to say di, but it isn't..

Hey Shruti..
You have made an awesum post as i said earlier..so High 5 for that again..
I am commenting again after a reading the comments of few writers who post their stories in IF and i am disappointed and appalled to read some of the comments..
I read a comment where sumone has mentioned that silent reading is a choice but trust me its not a choice when u are ignored and the author has gala time with her so called friends on the thread..

I follow most of the good stories that are ongoing in the forum rite now..i follow them because the writers acknowledge the readers there..if a writer cant acknowledge a reader..who is she writing for ..for herself..then please who askd u to share..keep it with yourself..Everything in this world is reciprocal..give and take..if u are asking fr comments..acknowledge it when u get it ..and not just ignore it just because the comment is not from the spammers list who spam ur thread.I have left so many stories in this forum just because of this attitude of many writers..Because i honestly think there stories miss the soul and they only write to please their spammers..

And most definitely the no of pages or threads completed by a story on the forum does not decide the quality of the story..

i will never disagree with you baccha
but i dont mind silent readers
after all I write for fun
if others enjoy and appreciate I am happy
if they silently enjoy
still my purpose is served
but it wud be great if they commented once
