when i read an entry on fb by a friend of hers on IF this whole nairobi situation somehow became personal.

today, some more googling, and i find she was a popular, gutsy tv presenter, radio dj, during the cricket games that took barun to kenya she was very much a part of the scene. she is young and lovely.

and she was 6 months pregnant with her first child when she was shot and killed.

this morning i read of another IF member losing her life there.

i really have nothing to say... just a terrible sadness at the world we've created. i have lost my father to an unthinking person's need to kill because something he/she, people in a group, don't like; so think killing people will solve their problems.

it never does.

nor does the feeling within of the ones who lost ever go away. you touch insanity each time you visit that thought. i am wondering about ruhila's husband. a young man with a vibrant wife who had gone to work that morning. a normal day. much to look forward to... a first child. he was possibly getting all set to become a father.

IF has many drawbacks i hear, but here i met all of you... made many friends... you all matter somewhere... as did this girl i didn't know.

i have no idea whether this world will get even a tad better in my lifetime. the more we "advance" it seems the more we become less human, somehow terribly less.

thinking of ruhila... and people still dying there.

News update: Disco special -10/10/13

The release of a picture of BS in his disco avatar from his first movie MAMR has put everyone including the blasters in a frenzy. The song that was picturised from where the particular shot was taken is said to be a rehash of a popular retro song. The picture made everyone go into disco mode on the thread. Edits were created, some at odd times, resulting in increasing the pace of the disco as well as the thread. Some even went on to write disco poems. Talk of Disco naturally lead to the Disco man himself, Bappi and his creations. While some claimed to not being impressed by the man, there were some who did enjoy his songs. Nevertheless, it was unanimously agreed that the disco songs from the man were always super hit.

The release of the picture of the disco boy in his black suit, bow and a thumka has increased the excitement about the movie. The blasters are now desperate to watch the movie right away. Waiting for the release of the movie now seems to be a humungous task.

It seemed to be raining photos of the show's stars as not very long ago, SI's photoshoot in various colourful Indian clothes were seen all over. Needless to say, she was looking ravishing.

News received just now that another pic of BS from his photoshoot with his current co-star of his latest movie, has created a frenzy at a totally different level. The hot picture has everyone skyrocketing heavenwards. Some of the blasters who have seen the picture are yet to recover. Reactions from the rest are being awaited, although one can always predict the same.

The release of these pictures has brought joy to everybody this festive season. Also, an excuse to do some more disco dandiya. From the news desk, wishing once more a Happy Navratri to all.

News update - 10/10/13

The blasters have been enduring stress and agonizing feelings because of the current wedding episodes where matters turned serious for the lead couple. The nature of the marriage has brought in deep discussions vis-a-vis the emotional feelings of the bride and groom, the justification of the decision taken, the sanctity of the marriage, etc. Also, the events and rituals taking place unknowingly leading upto the marriage are also being perused.

Arshi has been verifying the happenings with a magnifying glass and has been very successful in finding those situations where the couple have taken pheras symbolically. Indi too has been studying the same and has concluded that they have been behaving like man and wife for some time. Indi and Horizon are in detailed discussions regarding the types of Hindu marriages and under which category this marriage would fall in. Meanwhile, IssK is trying to map the route that Anjali has taken for her mandir darshan. Indi insists she went to another state altogether. Sohara is back to venting her anger on Buaji for her weird double standards. All in all, discussions on the episodes are just at the beginning stage and are expected to continue for some time.

There have been mini celebrations for two of our blasters whose status got promoted to the next level. Indi, who turned IF-Sizzlerz sometime back, couldn't believe that she made ten thousand posts on IF. Meanwhile, ArshiHamesha, who turned IF-Rockerz recently, couldn't decipher what these constant colour changes meant and why celebrations were required for the same. While both the blasters get used to their new status, we congratulate them on their achievements.

BFTP is on the verge of taking another breather next week. It is expected that this breather will be a longer one. Also, the blasters have decided to celebrate the completion of 200 episodes during the breather period. From the news desk, a huge congratulations to everyone associated with the thread, on the completion of the second century.

Thanks for the news update Durga 😊 All barun fans are infected by disco fever now... I loved that song & started to imagine Barun doing those steps... The guy would certainly entertain everyone... And my heart says this song is going to rock the bollywood charts this year... The song & the movie will definitely be a super duper hit... God bless him to reach greater heights in his career... Can't believe that so many discussions happened on his waist & thumka... I guess he is the first guy on the earth to get those comments... And with the news of the first look of MAMR, it is difficult for us to come back to earth...
