@arshicritic OMG the way u described their name...all I can say is WOW...only IPK can give up such perfect symbolization...saachme "Yeh jadoo aur kahin nahi aur kabhi nahin hoga"...

Every thing about the show was so well conceptualised, and symbolism in the show was top class!

Each and every name was so perfect and a character description in itself

Lovely post, Ipoona!😊 That was as much poetry as prose. I loved your word pictures, and also your sharp observations about the upheaval in the lives of two small-town girls because of ASR's actions.
I dunno if I'm the only one who felt this, but Khushi and Payal's interactions and portrayal in these first episodes, inescapably reminded me of Pride and Prejudice when I first watched IPK. I remember thinking: "That could be Jane (Paayal) and that one Elizabeth." And, by extension then, ASR was the proud Mr. Darcy, and Akash the more malleable Mr. Bingley. Their removal to Delhi reminded me of Elizabeth's visit to Pemberly or Regency heroines moving to Bath or London from the country. I found the first episodes more reminiscent of P&P than the ones later on.

And lo and behold, Khushi appears in his side view mirror.

Objects in Mirror are larger than they Appear.

That's what is inscribed on the mirror. This is the one thought that ran through my mind at the end of the episode.

Arnav Singh driving along, utterly oblivious of Khushi, moving up from his "blind spot" to the mirror, and speeding past while his eyes are still on the road. She is larger than life. She will impinge on his life in a way that he never anticipated.

For now, its enough that she and he are literally on collision course. They crash into each other.

Fate and Devi Maiyya have a quiet laugh.

Loved it, all of it, but especially this bit! Going to bed now with a smile on my face.😊

Reflections - Episode 6

Objects in Mirror are Larger than They Appear

The stage has been set. All the principals have made their presence known. The leads have been introduced. On to the drama itself.

Khushi and her sister are banished from Lucknow. But she needs to go to Delhi - or else how will she meet up with her Prince Charming? She has to walk through the dark forest and before she can see the castle and the forbidding beast that lies in it.

Khushi has dire thoughts about Delhi, colored by the man who has invaded her life. Her thoughts are as dark as his clothes. Yet Shyam appears to her, in front of Devi Mayya and offers her a helping hand. He tells her that she has one more friend and well-wisher in Delhi. Someone who will help her. And Devi Mayya makes him keep his word. For each act of his will only draw Khushi nearer her goal - Arnav.

And Shyam mentions the dhak-dhak dhak-dhak of Delhi. Once again, to all lovers of IPK - dhak-dhak has a special meaning, a special connotation. Two hearts beating as one. For Khushi, standing on the threshold of being uprooted from all that is familiar, there must have been anticipation, worry, fear. All emotions that induce a dhak-dhak.

Yet, it is Shyam who utters that magic phrase for the first time.

This is a scene that is soaked with irony that only the future will reveal.

So with her sister, the charming Payal at her side and her (so far) rough Buaji as their chaperone, the two sisters finally arrive at their destination. Their lives have already gone past point non plus.

The beautiful interlude with Buaji and Bedi Uncle had so much promise. Alas, they never explored it. It was humorous without being slapstick - especially where they share an eyelock.

This episode has one of the rare scenes in IPK that is shot outside Raizada Mansion. Arnav and Anjali talking about the puja that Nani wants him to attend. Arnav reinforcing his disbelief in meaningless rituals, and Anjali's sugary sweet chatter.

He does not believe in fate, destiny, coincidences, serendipity or anything of the sort. Yet as he sits in his car, his assistant on the cell informs him that Khushi has left Lucknow.

And lo and behold, Khushi appears in his side view mirror.

That's what is inscribed on the mirror. This is the one thought that ran through my mind at the end of the episode.

Girl of fire... First of all...a great handle...
Loved that you mentioned the Dhak Dhak dialogue... It had left me real confused ... Now with the benefit of 20/20 vision ... I wondered why he is the one who mentions the beating heart...He was obviously feels his own heart racing...I kept thinking maybe he is actually using Dilli as sort of a subtext for his own emotions ... Really left me confused... in context of what we now know...Agree that Khushi is absolutely feeling apprehensive...and distressed...or maybe it was just a play on the word Dilli... Or the fact that her Dil is now in Dilli ... Who knows??
Hadn't even noticed the objects in the mirror...watching with everyone is like having many multiple eyes ...love it!!!

Sabs... From one Mr Darcy fan to another ... I had never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would feel this way for another character what I felt for Darcy, Lizzie in particular .. And Pride and Prejudice in general...
Let me tell you... No one is more shocked than me that I am so so crazy about our Desi version... I think it has all the elements that made P&P a classic and then some... But you are right the similarity ends somewhere around Diwali...love both all the same ... But am loving IPK a tad more these days coz it has context for us... More than a Brit book...no offence to any Austen fans as I am one myself...

@Ipoona yeah its their life badal ne wale din...it may seems like "Sab uss Laad Governer ki vajah say"...but it was destined...beautifully written...

@GirlOfFire just realized Dhak-Dhak is first time said by Snake...

He does not believe in fate, destiny, coincidences, serendipity or anything of the sort. Yet as he sits in his car, his assistant on the cell informs him that Khushi has left Lucknow.

And lo and behold, Khushi appears in his side view mirror.

They crash into each other.

This is fate...isske aage koi kuch nahi kar sakta...koi Arnav Singh Raizada bhi nahi...

@chowna So this's the first time "farak nahi padta" verbalized...only we know how much "farak padta" later...

Thanks Nishu-Shorna... Look forward to seeing comments from you always...
