I'm glad the thread has been re-opened by the DT.
Just a couple of additional things: there is obviously a lot more to it what happened back then than people know about; whether that is about Barun's reasons to leave or the Channel's reasons to close a prime time hit show in a non TRP season with 4 days notice. I guess somethings we will never know for sure but I'm glad Barun at-least put it out there that it is not all black and white.

The SP disclaimer was clearly not correct; Barun took the fall for it and still comes back with a smile saying he holds no grudges. Respect! I sure hope his fandom grows by leaps and bounds and he gets all the happiness and success. Those that bashed and mocked him should be eating their own words now.

Another thing highlighted by this unedited version is that even audio visual interviews are edited and do not always paint the full picture or represent completely what is said. I really hope people stop super analyzing his each word and action and just give him some breathing space because clearly no-one knows the whole picture.

I wholeheartedly love Barun.. this man is very humble and honest.
I loved the way he clarified the confusions. 👍🏼
Viewers can have any opinions, but they don't have enough information to judge anyone. 😊
I love how he doesn't mind the criticisms.

it still hurts whenever i see that ghostly pic of ASR spirit. it still hurts that even though both the PH n SP were aware how much asr is loved they chose to kill him...

if barun has put his papers down ,they could have easily shown any other track for replacing barun like asr not remarrying khsuhi or moving away with sheetal..
SP putting the disclamier on, blaming barun is the most pathetic stunt i have ever seen in media.

someone should ask SP, did barun give u a sudden notice for leaving the show that u have to shut the show so abruptly...

Barun Sobti, we always have believed you nomatter what disclaimer SP puts or our dear gulji tries to prove in coffe sessions..

We love you barun.

I just watched the video and will say this...I'm glad he's opening up about the blame that had been unfairly put on his head. It's about time!

Thanks, Zoha, for this post & unedited clip... at last after 6 months, a long time, Barun opened his mouth in defense of that blame game accusing him for closure of the show- which people loved the most & has earned worldwide viewership... any fool PH or channel will close the show on one actor's leaving the show... we all knew then that there is definite other reason to close the show...

PH was not much keen for this show's fate as their interest was shifted to their next project... were not bothered- show remains on or off air - proved by hurried post marriage Arshi story & Shyam's discloser...also after that, crap tracts of Sheetal & all... instead, they could plan to move ahead on lead actor's inevitable exit [ if he left the show by his will & wish ]... but behind the curtain-- real reason of his quitting show leaked by people on set... but total blame was put on him & held him responsible for show-closure.

Love this man for his courage to open his mouth at last & defend himself [ SP is a big channel - a statement against them needs guts]... it was obvious, channel blame him wrongly ... also he knows his fan's admiration & love for him... he openly don't speak against anyone but smart viewers can easily understand message conveyed by this interview...

I agree with others that he didn't quit the show & remain jobless by his wish... so in a dignified way putting his health reason, he left the show- then with crap tracts & selfish PH... am also happy that show ended with Barun as ASR [ no one can play ASR but Barun.. also Sarun pair as Arshi HAMESHA ]

After this interview, my love & respect for BARUN has increased a lot. Thanks Zoha, for starting this thread , your post after a long pause, most needed to clear wrong belief against Barun amongst his fans... everyone has his/her own view, but his true fans can come forward & share their points in favour of Barun... i apriciate your's view and all other's reply... this shows their love for him, true Barun fans & admirer of his talent

hey zoya... nice to see a post from ya, its been a while...

thanks for this vid... hadn't seen it... i really feel for him... makes me love him even more... he was never at fault but still beared it all gracefully. even in this vid, he hasn't blamed anyone.. took no names, just tried to clear his stand in a very diplomatic way.

hope people realise that the real Barun Sobti is as super cool, honest and pure at heart guy as the on-screen character of ASR he played and made it as one of the most memorable characters on indian television ever.

You know when we used to watch Barun offscreen during the show and now in media interviews I always felt that...behind the laid back personality, casual clothes, long unkempt hair, and beard there is an ASR like determination that runs in that guy. Any other person who were in his shoes, who had been hurled with all kinds of namecalling and personal abuses...and the channel directly pointing the fingers at him for show closure would have taken the easier route of having a press conference to 'clear up' his image...but he persisted in giving his reason and held forth the belief that truth will prevail...after all the dirt settles...and today he stands taller than those ppl who tried to ridicule him in every possible way...👏

Sobti I respected the actor who infused life into fictional ASR and made him the icon...and now I respect the man you are. Simply great.

Zoha...sorry for spamming...you know the reason😳

I just noticed that the post was closed and re-opened.
When he says a lot has happened that people do not know what exactly is he talking about? What everyone knows and thinks is that he left because of his health and the show was shut down because of fan demands.
Sure his deteriorating health and fan demands was part of it; but it certainly is not all.
I'm glad he finally feels comfortable enough to say something more; it's a start and high time I would say! But even here his simplicity is what shines through; no mud sliding, no tall claims like I was indispensable just a simple attempt to clear the air.
