I'd appreciate if the post overflows with the appreciation comments this man truly deserves!

BARUN SOBTI...U are the best n will be the best,,,and I'd always blv that you were not the reason for the show closure and no body among us can say anything with certainty,,,,,but I do believe there is lot more that happened! WHAT? I dont know,,but all i can do is support U and wish the best for U!

First of all... thank you Zoha for this unedited clip.

What I got from the clip,
1) He has always maintained he wanted to quit for health reasons, which is fine by me. Its his life, his decision and we should respect it.

2) The voiceover said he was sad and didnot want to leave the show. Barun being sad for leaving IPK is understandable but E24's reporter stating that he didnot want to leave is questionable. I choose to believe Sobti instead. He did leave for health reasons.

3) He was not responsible for the show's closure as cited by the channels disclaimer. There was more to it. Channel, PH just couldnt get their act together to keep the show afloat.

4) It can never be a fan's fault. Some held him responsible, some called him selfish, others just miserable that the show went off air. Anger, criticism, and hate was directed towards him. Because fans loved him. And he understands this. People are prone to misconception when there is lack of information.

5) Risks and threats... maybe business related. I really have no clue.

But one thing i know...

Barun Sobti ... after all this ... RESPECT...!!!!

I'm at work so other than the main post have skimmed through the posts... will say this much to the people who blame him for leaving the show to shoot for his movie and/or hold him responsible for show closure or .for us, audience not getting our Arnav khushi's proper closure:

Barun came back and even though he was exhausted, he was there till his last day of shoot.. right?...during all the shyam disclosure fiasco, Sheetal trtack and Mrs India track...but where was the story ? so please dont blame the guy for the story not having a proper end...marriage happened on 28th sept and IPK ended nov 30th...2 months 5 episodes/wk + 1 ME...enough time for khushi Arnav story proper ending with their kid/kids(full circle for orphans) and then leap to next generation with Sanaya( their daughter) and another lead...instead of the the killing ASR and Khushi moving onto another 'hamesha' and RV with another guy plan that the PH brilliantly conceived and SP approved...so story issues they have to shoulder the blame...not the actor.😊

Guys I'll catch up our evening time.

Zoha... Can't thank you enough for this post!! Will gush more later😉

i am so happy to see ur post got reopened! i just wanted to say i loved that u made it, i loved ur reasons for making it and agree with most of what u said. re the interview, even i did a doubletake and rewound it several times. everything can be open to interpretation but i will always believe that there were a million other things going on behind closed doors that we knew nothing about, and he was not the reason for closure.

it felt like the worlds worst best-kept secret with so much damage control going on and obvious and not so obvious lies being weaved everywhere. and yeah, maybe at some point everything will come out or maybe it wont, but i'm happy that barun is at least talking about it more openly and less carefully now. and i'm happy that six months later, with no tv appearances or show, the man is still shining brightly and is still undoubtedly a star!

the only thing i prayed for was he shouldn't get tarnished with any of the lies and mud that was being slung, and beyond IF i'm happy his fandom is growing and most people without an agenda seem to love and respect the person he is along with his talent. his name has huge pulling power everywhere, his popularity and fandom is shocking many people in many countries and on many continents, and the man still comes across the same - shy, sweet and unaffected.

i kind of feel like he was put through a trial by fire, and has managed to come through it slightly singed but relatively unscathed. i wouldn't wish what he seemed to be going through on anyone, but maybe it has helped to center his focus and make him stronger. if he had quietly crept into oblivion his haters wouldn't be so many in number, neither would they care so much. but of course he didn't!

i really wish him all the happiness and success in the world and cant wait to see what he does next. i love the rawness of his talent and the fact that he hasn't even skimmed the surface of all his potential yet. and most of all i'm so so happy he has managed to shock and prove wrong a lot of people with his fortitude and resilience - yep, he is totally a sensation 😛

ps also, i LOVE all of ur vm's, u totally capture the essence of arnav and khushi so beautifully, thank u 😳

haan Barun is a sensation! am sure EVERYONE knew ki there was more to the closure of IPK than was let out! people just wanted to 'blame' someone n unfortunately Barun was the easy target!

I couldnt stop myself from posting here. I was away from the forum and everything related to IPK from past 5 months. Im appalled to see nothing changed in the forum, still everything seems same. Did anyone move on from that off screen IPK closure fiasco?😕
I was one of them who always wanted Barun to be specific and clear when he is quitting the show instead of saying break, long break and indefinite break but I knew to some extent that was not possible as SPL UK event was at stake. So left things at it and was waiting for any official announcement from either channel or PH which never happened. Instead we got the news about show shutting down in 4 days right after SPL UK event which left me under utter shock, disregarding the fact of IPK shut down initially and finally accepted which only gave me immense pain as this show means so much to me and especially Sarun for my own reasons. But now I moved on and just cherishing the show and offscreen masti.
I wanna add my 2 cents here. I want to take everything at face value and I dont have any inside sources. I believed Barun's health or personal reasons for him to back off then(as we clearly saw how he lost his charm and was looking weary). A top GEC channel will not close the show just because an actor is opting to quit when they believed character is larger than any actor. SP ran a disclaimer saying Barun wanting to try his luck in BW when in fact he has no offer in hand then and his 2nd movie's shooting is commencing now, which is after 6 months of show closure. So this disclaimer was wrong as we can see it now. So there must be many things which happened which were not known to us and doubt we will ever know. Again I want to take this interview at face value and believe it as it is, as its directly from horse's mouth. Bas!!!!

First of all barun leaving the show and the show ending are two different things and in this unedited video he is talking about the show closure. Kindly do not mix the two things.

Barun wanted to quit the show for health reasons. Thats is his decision. Frankly speaking the show was going at the end I am very happy that it has ended. After his return to the show all tracks that were shown were bad. I was watching for arnav and kushi only.

First there was an epic scene in the show that " arnav and kushi will be always together" and after few days you were going to show that arnav is dead and kushi moved on in her life with another man. Wow glad that does not happen in the show.

Production house and the channel was very much aware that barun wanted to quit the show then why did not they properly plan about his exit. Okay viewer watched Shital track then also they had a time to plan because by that time both channel and ph were aware about his popularity( shital track ended on nov 9th and by that lot of emails and phone call by fans was started) . If the ph was so keen to continue the serial then also they had time to give proper closure to Arnav and Kushi and they would have shown some leap and started a fresh story about Aarav.

According to me and most of my friends felt both Channel and ph payed a dirty politics and put a blame on a actor who completed agreement and worked according to his agreement. Channel came up with a stupid disclaimer and media came up with stupid rumors but at last he proved thm all wrong.
