jealousy. oh what a nuance to catch and explore, chalhov. gorgeous meander through his mind. he is in agony, she's in a daze... what mining of emotions.

meri bheegi bheegi is... sanjeev kumar... such a fine actor, sometimes barun reminds me of his completely individual and immersed take. thanks, for this interesting post.

Episode 124
Kyun faraq padta hai
Ek hawa ka jhonka aaya aur phir sannaata cha gaya
Jaise dhadkan ruk gayi dil ki aur andhera cha gaya
Khabar suni aisee maine, main stabdh reh gaya
Jaise registaan ke gehre ret mein, main deh gaya
Aisa laga koi mere dil ko cheer kar le gaya
Zakhmi mere dil ko phir zakham de gaya
Aisa laga mere haathon se khushiyaan choot gayi
Jise kabhi apna na maana, wo kisi aur ki ho gayi
Kyun laga mujhe ke mera kuch chin gaya?
Kyun iss khabar se main itna hil gaya?
Kuch khone ka ehsaas mujhe kyun hai lagta?
Aakhir kyun mujhe itna farq hai padta?
Translation:
A gust of wind came and then there was stillness around
Like the heartbeat stopped and there was darkness around
I heard such a news that I was stunned
Like in the deep sand of the desert I got caved in
Felt as if someone tore away my heart
Gave hurt to my wounded heart again
Felt as if happiness left from my hands
Someone whom I never considered my own, became someone else's
Why did I feel that something of mine was stolen?
Why was I so shaken up with this news?
Why do I feel that I've lost something?
After all, why does it matter to me so much?

Wow Durga, you've perfectly captured Arnav's inner turmoil! 👏⭐️ Highly emotional and this piece made me cry! 😭 This lost soul really needs his Khushi to be whole! Thank you so much! 🤗

Episode 121-123 : I think the episode 122 was all about how Khushi introduced her symbolic fiance Arnav to her parents, 121 was a preemble and 123 was the after effects of the introduction and the role of ARSHI's parents in bringing them closer. I really loved how Arnav was introduced to Khushi's parents. And naturally as a girl's parents they asked him- to give Khushi her proper place- his arms.

Arnav's parent's role in bringing Khushi closer to Arnav :
In IPKKND Arnav's mom usually solves Arnav's problem through either Nani or through Anjali.

  • Nani's role : After Barsi when Nani was introducing Khushi to her daughter it seems sometimes she does play a role in trying to keep Khushi back in Arnav's life. We know that Nani suddenly started playing tricks like she is once again a kid. If we recall she used the same tone whenever she talks about Arnav and Anjali's parents. Like she did when she was speaking to Anjali affectionately how she had lost all her hair when pregnant with their mom. So when Arnav and Anjali's mom communicated with Nani- that she wants happiness and Khushi back in her son's life she may have asked her to be a mom to Arnav and Khushi and treat them like kids then adults. Mom may have asked Nani to bring ARSHI together by playing a trick as Nani may have with her daughter. - Very intertesting thought Samin, and i do feel Naani originally had clear intentions for bringing Khushi to RM so that Arnav would slowely fall for her, but they writers seem to forget about it as Nani was thrilled at the new of Khushi engagment...or i know its b/c she like La now but there was not disappointment shown over her plan not working out at first. or am i missing something?
So when she was playing a trick it made her remember all the times she had spend with her daughter, made her probably once more have the urge to see her kangan, made her try to solve Arnav and Khushi's problem as a mother not a grandmother. She was probably missing her daughter very much too- because Khushi's presence made her- probably close to her daughter. Then when Arnav said- after her saying for some people money is the price of everything- she understood probably where she went short in parenting. Her daughter seemed to speak through her- Not everything can be appraised with money.
  • Anjali's role :The second person Arnav's mom communicates with is usually Anjali and especially usually relates to Mom's Kangan. She was wearing them during the shooting star in between the plants, and was closing Arnav's eyes. It seemed as if their mom wanted her to wish happiness for her son, because Arnav had given the place of her mom to Anjali. So Anjali too brought Mom's Kangan and the letter and read with her brother the letter. It was a touching one. How her mother described to her daughter her son. She said her son is going to be angry and to tolerate her anger and return the love he gave with interest. It was sensitive how they missed their mom.
  • Manipulating Khushi : We know that the way to a man's heart is his food and who what someone likes more then Mom. Also moms usually spend a lot of time in kitchen cooking during the time of day Arnav came back. So her soul was probably what made Khushi slip. Her soul probably also made him think Anjali- whom he thinks as mom- is in kitchen. So there comes her third trick of having Khushi slip in Arnav's Arms. - all interesting points, agree she may have something to do with it
The next trick was drawing Khushi to Arnav where he feels closest to Mom- his garden and that too silently- because Arnavjiko Shor sharaba pasand nehi. And she also took with her the milk- as a dutiful concerned daughter-in-law and stayed quiet. However that trick also seemed not to work. However his mom's message seemed to have at last being conveyed to Arnav- because he asked for milk. So when Khushi did exactly what Arnav's mom may have ordered her- create more noise to irritate him- and Arnav seemed to understand his mistake.
After reading Mom's letter with Anjali Arnav said my mom would not recognize me and probably not love me anymore- it seemed as if Khushi was instructed to go and see that Arnav was in distress. And mom wanted her son to have someone he loved and understand not to hate love.

Khushi''s parent's role in bringing Arnav closer to Khushi.
Unlike Arnav's mom working through Anjali and Nani- it seemed as if there was no direct link between Khushi's parents other then Arnav. They seem to want to communicate to her through him and not even her directly. So when they would of course want the only person that Khushi was forced to get engaged, as he said to Anjali.
  • First time when Khushi told Arnav her parents are stars and he told sorry it appeared Arnav bitwa started to believe them but which one he did not know. and Khushi's parents approve of him. It seemed as if he believed too that they were stars It is known that a spouse's parents are also your parents. So Arnavwanted to go and see the stars to see and speak to Khushi's parents after seeing he could not face his mom with his pain of missing her. During the suicide track- Arnav said to Khushi, " how do you look at them in the eye after what you are doing". Arnav did not like his own dad so probably he saw a father figure in Khushi's dad and was getting all the bashing from him on diwali night. However on the night of the bandagement when Khushi's parents witnessed Khushi unhappy and Arnav restless they may have decided to bring Arnav back in Khushi's life. So when Khushi was forced to get engaged to Shyam Arnav was restless. As if Khushi's parents wanted him to remember all the times she had spent with her. When he woke up speaking Khushi's name it was evident that he was missing her and their role on him.
When Arnav saw Khushi and his first meeting on TV it seemed as if he wanted to tell Khushi's parents in anger- that he is marrying Lavanya and not their daughter. It must have hurt them. When Khushi was looking at both her rings it seemed as if she was complaining to her parents and asking them to give them what she is asking. We know parents try to move heaven and earth to fulfil wishes of children, but would not want them to be in a relationship where they have no value. So when Khushi was hurt they did not want Arnav back in her life- a person who will cause her distress. Then after Arnav was hurt remembering his parents he went outside on the pretext of finding his mom and communicate again with Khushi's parents. However - Khushi's parents were not speaking with him since he was not speaking with their daughter. So when Khushi came- he broke his silence. He told them all- have they become stars. He for the very first time was introduced to Khushi's parents. Her mom and her dad. Then he asked- "Are they happy now seeing us". He maybe implied- were they happy seeing ARSHI togather again speaking with each other.
Then came the second question- is my mom happy with me. It was a question not only to Khushi- but probably to his mom's soul which is around and from Khushi's dad to see if he could then communicate with his mom. The answer was in Khushi's ring under his foot. During remarriage he called the ring Khushi- so this time it meant- to take Khushi whom he considers someone so worthless which he can trample under his shoes in his hands.

Parents really do know how to bring couples togather even from heaven and beyond and their parents did abstractly play a role in bringing ARSHI togather. They were always looking over them. So I was thinking- in IPKKND and its symbolism and having a nice laugh and thinking- I really do love my parents and miss my in-law who passed away. However at the same time want love to prevail in my daughter's life. Anyway when it comes down to it parents want a spouse for their children who will love them and care for them even if it means hurting themselves.

Samin, a very interesting take and POVs! I enjoyed reading all of it, it would take some pondering on my part to see if i come to the conclusions you did, but with that said, i do feel the both of the parents have a big hand in bringing the two together.

About Shyam wanting to be like Kanha...I don't think he understood the essence of the one after whom he was named.

Exactly my thought Wiwy. He was lying in Mandir all the time about loving Anjali, dared to bring the fake will in Mandir and also during Janmashtami was chalanging in Puja that God will not be able to take Khushi from his life. That is a scambag I would say.

part one

for the first time perhaps, ever since that night at sheeshmahal, he made eye contact with someone and allowed them into his world of maa.

he could never tell anyone what it did to him. he possibly never told himself too much about it. just a searing unscalable pain in his heart, his head, his being, trapped in a nightmare, unuttered in a scream. there it stayed. him its prisoner, in solitary confinement.

even with di, he remained closed about this. classic body language as di spoke of their mother, and his eyes fixed a bit away from all, struggling with agony. he had never thought her kangan, gold bangles she wore all the time, would become a part of the conversation around lavanya and engagement. and now, suddenly, on the back of a simple request by di to check for something in the locker, they were right here, before his eyes. di could talk about it, reminisce, cry at least. all he could do was remember what these meant to him. 👏👏

sukoon.

peace.

the sound of kangan that felt like lullaby. now lost forever.

"unki khanak mein itna sukoon tha, lagta tha jaise saare din ki thakawat utar gayi ho..." in their clinking there was so much peace (sukoon suggests a sense of the sweetest peace in the heart to me), you felt the day's tiredness melt away. the words came out of his mouth as memory swamped him. and then their attendant hurt pain madness. he was not ready to go into it before anyone.

"agar maa tumhe aaj dekhti toh..." if maa saw you today, di starts to say as she finishes reading the letter written in fun but with astute advice by a mother to her son's future wife, he doesn't let her finish her sentence. "pehchaan bhi nahin paati mujhe..." she wouldn't even recognise me, he completes her sentence. cool, dead voice, a giving up and ending in it. nothing functions within, his life detaches, his pulse goes down, this is a territory he doesn't want to enter. maa.

he leaves the room.

she saw him as he strode out. red rimmed, tear filled eyes. the boy who was banging the pillar near her head just minutes ago, snarling because he couldn't shout at her. not talking to each other, part of their current deal proposed by him. and she'd been banging the mortar and pestle as hard as possible to disturb him while he spoke on the phone to take revenge for his meanness. in an instant everything changed. a man in pain, and a girl shocked to see him thus.

mirchi and its heat entered the scene again as in previous episodes, there were chillies drying outside that needed to be collected, and no, khushi would not take those kangans of maa meant for her daughter in law from anjali, she'd rather get the chillies in. chillies had taken them to the poolside before. he'd insisted on not listening to her and wolfed down fiery hot daal. and she'd come with something to soothe his burning mouth: cold, calming milk.

but this time chillies would take us to a soothing of the heart.👏 to a reaching out for sukoon. the one he lost. the one he sometimes feels around him. and yet he doesn't know how to stretch out for it. tonight someone seemed to show him the way.

"toh kya woh sach mein taare ban jaate hain..." so do they really become stars. on an evening when he'd gone seeking forgiveness for hurting someone terribly and been tongue tied, not knowing how to say the word, he'd felt the touch of a heart that felt like his. an empathy. no one understands how it feels to cremate both parents and come home, no one understands the nature, the blow of this passing. but she did. for she had been there. and she believed her parents were always there, in those faraway sparkling stars. in another dimension, but always there.

that evening, he had finally found the word he'd looked for desperately. sorry, he'd said. and with that perhaps a door had opened, a letting in of someone into a space kept tightly shut for so long.

tonight, the door seemed to open a bit more.

no rancour... no challenge... no arrogance... no deal... just a simple question to the one who his heart says might have the answer. he seemed to hear his heart after a long time, and listened to it.

curiously, no sexual tension, just a need, a reaching out for assurance. a trust in him, almost childlike... as though certain her answer can make make the difference.

maa ke kangan had its khanak, perhaps khushi's presence, her clear eyed beliefs, her cleanness unmarked by anything worldly, her unsophisticated but pristine sincere words has that sukoon in it.❤️

"baat sach ya jhoot ki nahin hai... baat yakin ki hai." she sensed his need instantly, she felt for him, two people connected by traumatic loss, by tragedy. she had found a way and it was built on faith. we split our world into true and false, black and white, good and bad, but can we ever know the whole truth or the whole false for that matter? how far does sensory perception and validation of "fact" based on the gathering of physical evidence really take us? is that all there is to life? how do you prove stars are not the twinkle of parents looking back at you? how do you prove love?👏

she tells him the heart of her knowledge... it's not about whether it's true or false, it's about belief. later she will say the next word in that family... vishwaas... faith.

"humara dil humse kahta hai ki woh tara humari ma hain, aur uske saath wala, humare babuji... hamesha hume dekhte rahte hain..." my heart tells me that that star is my mother, and the one next to it is my father... they look at me always... hamesha.

another secret of life she gives back to him, one his sister has mentioned before but he wasn't paying heed.

listen to the heart.

this time he doesn't laugh it off or deride the sentiment.

he has a question. he wants so much to believe, and almost like one looking to be led, he looks at her who shows him the path back to life and living.

"kya woh humey dekhkar khush hain... kya meri maa mujhe dekhkar khush hai?" are they happy to see us? then his real question... is my mother... the slightest hesitation on maa, as though unable to say, unable to share, and then it comes out... is my mother happy to see me?

the only woman he ever felt so loved by, the only one he so loved, can she see him, is she proud of him, is he doing right? he isn't lost, is he? she will recognise him, won't she? he hasn't changed that much, has he?

how many questions did his heart ask? why did i feel his fear? why did i feel his hope. was that just an actor? or was he the voice of all of us who had lost and were looking for our stars?

and then he turned and looked at her. letting her right in. no one till now had been allowed this access.

it felt like shubhadrishti, a quaint custom in the bengali wedding, when under a canopy, usually made of a linen towel (quaintness extreme aha) beneath the sky and the stars, the bride and the bridegroom look at each other for the very first time. a custom from the days when you never met the one you'd marry before that moment, and if you were a girl you were so young, you had to be carried on a "piri," a little flat wooden stool.

he looked at her. all his pain visible, guard completely down. she stared back, receiving his feelings, wanting to calm and soothe them and return them all healed and smiling... back to him.

on the quiet, a feeling of mother poured in. of that spread of calm she is, of home, of being whole. sometimes you are just moved that's all.

a tender, music, the sound of twinkling and stars played. in them there seemed to be the khanak of maa's bangles, her kangan so lovingly held in a box sacred with memories.

perhaps khushi couldn't trust herself to linger there anymore, perhaps her heart was telling her to show him things she was too shy to show, she sounded a bit awkward, unsure as she mumbled something, then went back to the chillies... but before she left, she did look back and asked him what usually he asked her... aap theek toh hai na. you're okay, aren't you.

somewhere along the way, without much ado, he had become her concern... always.

perhaps khushi didn't need to read that letter from maa. she already knew what was in it.

"dhyaan rakhiyega aur savdhaan rahiyega... humare chhotey ke naak pe bahut saara gussa rahata hai aur dil me bahut saara pyaar.gussa bardash karna ... aur pyaar, pyaar sood samet lautana."

pay attention and be careful... our chhotey has tonnes of anger on his nose and a tonnes of love in his heart. tolerate the anger... and the love, return that love with interest

i watched barun's reactions as theletter was read and somehow i could almost see his mother there in his delineation through turned away face, still body, glazing eyes, ever so slightly trembling lips and an endlessness in his gaze.

Atlast i read it!! thank you for this beautiful peace, it was an emotional one. Loved your thought and POV about Khushi being the only one let in where only his mother is. I remember you had said something about why he takes only Khushi to the garde, i kind of see why you feel that he only allows Khushi in this special place. I just thought certain things a hubby only shared with wife not sis, so that why, but i can see there is more to it.

So you saw Barun in that scene?? maybe, for him to do a bang on job like that, he had to put himself there. the acting was just magical. Loved all in purple at usual, extra love to the deep puples. interesting thoughts in blue :)

@samin.
hey, great to see you back after a while.
Thanks for reading and commenting.

hmm, choone ka achcha bahana hai grumpy sexy boy! 👏 Give them a break. He was just engaged a couple of days back to Khushi and so far could not even get her alone. Only had her in arms once- of course as a newly engaged couple would want a bahana to touch her.

I absolutely agree with you. didn't think like that. thanks to point it out.
