Episode 116: The key to you

"aap ki manat ki chabi gir gayee.

Her pearls had already made its way into his pockets the night before, and when she picked up that key of his both had become an intricate part of eachtoher's lives by only their second meeting.Today the key truly comes full circle👍🏼. The key was to a mannat that Anjali kept for Arnav before he started his empire and by the design of higher powers (and some crafty CVs), that day Khushi became the key's guardian. Today she returns it to Arnav only to lead him back to her and bind her to himself forever... and in a way become his key's guardian for life. - aww very well said Ami...especially the last line 👏

He watched her leave the RM, leaving him feeling untterly hollow. About to bury his head in his file again (as if he could really concentrate after watching her walk out of his life), the key called out for him. He picked it up and gathered all his might to toss it far away, "Rukiye! (stop!)" Khushi's voice stops him, he remembers "aap ki manat ki chabi gir gayee. (you dropped your prayer key)."

Though the mannat meant nothing to him, perhaps the realization that Khushi had kept it all this time did mean something. - true...she had kept it all this while safely with her😊

Maybe that's why he feels the key with his thumb and encloses it tightly in his fist as the sight of her blood. - good notice

"Khoon? (blood?)" thoughts rush back to when he shoved her, her name echoes on his lips from within "Khushi?" ...how was this man ever going to even begin to live with out his Khushi? His need to protect her, to keep her safe surpasses any 'farqs" and any promises to himself. After ordering her to "leave dammit"...here he is dropping his important files, at a mandir, with a bangage in his pocket, ready to tend to her injury...kind of a comedic in a way. how right he is when he would later say "Love can reduce anyone to anything"

Before he got here, she prayed to DM to for courage to move on. She talks of never going back to that house, or seeing the face of that laad governor, she even talks about the key that she returned.." bhool se bhi unhe yaad nahi karenge". How her eyes go to a place where she knows how hard that will be...maybe even impossible.

"bas aapka ashirwaad hamaare saath rahe, hamme yekeen hai ki aapne hamaare liye kuchh achha hi socha hoga "

The shankh (conch shell) is back with a bang indicating another auspicious milestone for these to meant-to-be lovers. The first time we heard it, Arnav broke Khushi's fast on teej and the second time was when a chunri was flung from him and landed on her head, in that moment her amma's words rang in her mind

" jisse rishte ki taar judi ho... agar usske haath aapke sar pe, matlab aapke man ke meet ke haathon, aap ke sir pe chunri gir jaaye... toh uss jodi ko shaadi ke bandhan mein bandhne se koi nahi roke sakta."

Well the chunri as fallen and today the they come one step closer to "shaadi ka bandhan (unionship)"

The conchshell announces his arrival, and she feels his breeze.

She leaves the mandir after ringing the bell. The windy gusts blind her with her dupaata, there are also red chunnis fying everywhere with great anticipatin. They're here to symbolizing whats to come, and to accompany the auspicious moment at 6:00pm

She pulls down the dupatta from her face, only to find his [handsome] shakkal in front of her. so much for all all the goals she just laid out...then again😆, DM has never listened to her when she asks to be away from him.

What is this girl to thinK? he just very roughly told her to leave and now he's here, voice mellow as ever calling out for her, "Khushi" his eyes filled with concern and alot of mooshy things but not a trace of that red hot anger she left him with.

She decides to ignore and walk around him

"Khushi, i'm talking to you, you can leave like this!" change of tone, he means business.

This is the second time he's come after her after breaking her heart, can't blame a girl for getting angry now. "why can't i go? this life is my own, i can go where ever i please anytime, besides, i don't work for you anymore so you have no right to order me!" no right, no haq ? this doesn't sit well with Arnav, he turns around, teeth clenched "Dont talk to me like that" how dare she, he has full rights, pura haq one her...only he wants her out of his life..silly ASR - i really love the way he says it her...

She's scared but she dares him still 👍🏼"Kyu? kya kar lenge aap?"she forgets he can do plenty. He grabs her hand and swiftly pulls her, his hands on her shoulders for the second time today, only this time its in public.

Khushi asks him to let her go a people started to stare, as always, he could care less about other people. He slowly releases the shoulders seeing she's hurting only to glide gently down to her hand , closely. Her resistance is short lived.

"Tumhe""You're" lost composure, cracked voice, gives himself away for a sec as he uncovers the the wound. He quickly gathers himself "Tumhe chot lagi hai (you're hurt)".

She snaches her hand away "SO, what's it to you?" she's has had enough with this side of him since she knows the other harsh side is not too far away. He is in no mood to argue with her.

"Khushi, stop fussing. apna haath do mujhe (give me your hand)" ooohh the clever CVs, have they snuk in a proposal ASR style? - good catch Ami 😉

Khushi tells him that he needn't worry about her, then she started to use his line against him "hamme na hi aapse baat karni hai..nahi -" but he interrupts, he can always dish it out but can never take it .." don't cause a scene Khushi"

Khushi tells him that she is not the one causing the scene, he grabs her hand with tight grip, she tries to escape but his hold uff, his hold, she askes to be released but he ignores reaches in his pockets with the other hand to pull the bandage out. lots of talk going on with eyes.

Parellel moments take us to the GH, where snakwa learns that 6:00 is the best time engagement. It is 6 o'clock, much to snakewas disapointment...as Khushi's amma said, noone can stop such a union from happening where the chunri lands on her head from the hands of her "man ka meet (the one she secretly loves)"

So it begins, he starts to wrap the bandage around her ring finger, the one that goes straight to her heart as buaji would later say. Mantras are being chanted while DM is shown smiling in the back ground, - nd so are we 😊

Khushi looks on, taken back by him, all of him, and he look up a few times to see her face, the shankh is heard again, announcing the happening. The camera circles around the two, as their bond is strengthened. 👏

Her dupatta rejoices like never before, and the red chunri continue to dance in celebration. The chanting of the mantras come to an end as the mandir bells get louder. Under the brights shining sun, as DM as their biggest witness, sound of the Shank is heard for the third time, announcing the completion of their engagement. - really well described 👏

What an amazing scene, designed, written and directed so well. If only i was one of those people who got to see the shooting that spoiled the dramatic shot...if only.😊

Though they are oblivious to what just happened, i sense they feel some significance of this moment.

She will soon understand it and at some point he'll get it too because he will remind her of this moment during their remarriage and tell her that technically she has been his "tab se" (since then). - i was just rememberin the same thing whn i read the previous para 😊

She moves her hand away, His eyes remain on her as if trying to figure out how he will survive without seeing her face.Khushi breaks the silence, "humne m-mana kiya tha na, phir bhi aapne..(I told you not to, but you still)" then she asks the million dollar question "What do you want from me?" Arnav is saved by the Pandit ji, who is there with the prashaad, she takes it and and is highly offended when he refuses is. "You cant come to the mandir and disrespect God -"

"i don't believe in God" he swifly fires back

Another resemblence here to the day when Khushi found the key. There was a similar spat between the two then also that was spawned from his "phaik do (throw it away)"

"haan hum to bhool hi gayee the ki Arnav Singh Raizada bhagwaan mein vishwaaas nahi kartey, kyu ki woh khud ko hi bhagwaan maan te hai"

Just like that day, he tells her that he writes his own destiny, and does whatever he wants. So she reminds him

"ek din aisa aayega jab aapko pata chaelega, ki aapne apne liye jo bhi likha hai, woh DM ne aapka haath pakad ke aapse likhwaya hai, aap jo kuchh bhi karte hai, unki marzi se karte hai, aur aage bhi unki marzi hogi"

Based on what just happened, Khushi would be proven right. Maybe that way the maker were trying to prove today by coming full circle. nothing is wrong in Arnav's belief system or lack there of either. But the makers built this aspect up for viewers to believe that he would come around some day and admit Khushi was right👏. \

Thankfully he didn't, I always felt he found peace and sense of faith in life after Khushi, but showing him to become a worshiping man would've killed a part of his character that makes ASR, ASR. - Very true nd very well said

Khushi continues "but the day you find this out, i won't be there that day" this rubs him the wrong way

'uss din kya, aaj se, infact isi pal se meri zindagi se nikkal jaao, na tumhari shakkal dekhni hai, na tumse koi baat karni hai aur yeh def mere haath mein hai Khushi Kumaari Gupta"

a fast rendition for "tu hi bata mere maula" as they depart in opposit directions, but the sun still shining brightly, to me a sign of their bright future. 👍🏼

What a scene it is as they both walk on each side of the mandir, but beside each other, symbolic as that's how they continue to be with eachother till the kidnapping, giving true meaning to the words "Na paas aa sake, na door ja sake"👏

👏Hey sohara excellent review that underlined for Arnav ,he was going through with serious mind VS heart pains and pulse of heart was taking control of his mind .Its't the next level of premonition as the can feel each others'pain and distress like that but its more from Arnav side than Khushi she will get it strong during Kidnapping.

Love that word"sullen " yes young boys have this in a very strong version especially when this ego of "I am a man " takes the whole lot toll of them.You have brothers you know that.As a mother and teacher these 5-6 ft ppl taught me a lot about them.

The sense of belongings and possessiveness is getting stronger and they both want to be with each other but right now its EGO which is going t o play a big role.

The quintessential thing of the episode is that, an engagement truly occurred on an auspicious time in a sacrosanct place with the blessings of God. What can be more solemn and portentous than this! The God is gradually showing all kind of signs and implementing all the rituals of their togetherness. It's proven again that Arnav and Khushi are made for each other, and inseparable at any cost. He confiscates her by putting the bandage on her ring finger for the rest of her life! Isn't it a marvel! KESARA SARA marriages couples/jodis are made in heaven

He watches her ruefully, leaving his parapet forlorn, pensive,sullen, with a scorching pain in her heart.May be it's their last meeting, may be they will not see each other ever in their life. he is contemplating her keenly, there is no hate in his eyes, but concern and tenderness instead. La is sad, "why chamkili left in haste?" Anjali tells her to let him know that she is going to some mandir. He turns away trying to palate that she is over from his life. But God is playing a different game here. Arnav Singh Raizada writes his own destiny, but he forgot for a moment that God is making him to write his destiny according to his will. And this time God's weapon is the mannat ki chabi what will be the atonement of Arnav and Khushi now.

When he tries to concentrate his files, her sight goes to the key, what is laid on the table.He picks it, grabs hold it for a moment, intends to throw it. but the repercussion takes him to the dargah, "zara suniye, aap ki mannat ki chabi geer gaye.(Listen your key has fall)" So he recognizes that it's the same key. how can he throw this now? He knows he can't mend her inside wound of her heart but can treat her outside wound as a compensation. But my sexy boy, this wound is nothing comparing to the wound what you gave her.hurting and curing bonding again and again

A strong girl is in volition,"I'm not gonna see his face again, I returned the key and I'm not gonna go to his place also." how adorably she said "not gonna remember him by mistake." She is praying for her well being and for her future. But how can she forget her first love! God also doesn't want that. so she doesn't grant her wish.A blow of conch, a strong wind are heralding the arrival of her prince charming who is now in the guise of a beast. The strong wind is shrouded Khushi by her dupatta. her dupatta always plays a pivotal role in their love. So that lifeless object also got agitated at his presence. She uncovers her dupatta slowly and finds Arnavji in front of her. she is now embroiled with his preposterous behavior "how cum he is here! where he doesn't want to see her face!" He gradually puts his aviator down, to look in her eyes. He moves to her and calls her name tenderly, "Khushi." But why khushi will listen to him after those scathing words. Khushi turns to leave

He is indignant, " when I'm talking to you, you can't leave like this."

She is ramrod today, "why can't i go, this is my own life. Wherever and whenever I can wish to go. moreover, I don't work for you any more.so you don't have any right to order me."

Arnav says grimly- don't talk to me like that

Khushi is valiant- kyu, why, what will you do?

She turns to leave, but he grabs hold her upper arms vehemently, his eyes transfixed at her. She squirms in his strong grip, "what are you doing. leave me."

without breaking the eye contact he loosens his grip and gently glides his hand on her arm. She shivers in his touch.He uncovers her dupatta from her hand and picks it up.

pause:how carefully you are touching her hand, I wish if you touch her heart with that same care. why do you riven asunder her heart so brutally my sexy boy!

"tumhe chote lage hai (you are hurt)!" he says huskily. now my heart is getting a chot to hear that sexy whisky voice. She brushes his hand away, "to apse matlab? (what does it matter to you?)"

He says imperatively "Khushi stop, fussing. Give me your hand" He tries to hold her hand.

Khushi antagonizes, "you don't have to be worry for me. you go from here. neither I want to talk to you nor" she can't complete

"tamasha math karo.(don't do drama)" he says with a big grin on his face.
"Tamasha mai nahi, aap karrahi he.(not me but you are doing the drama. where I'm telling)"

Arnav doesn't let her finish. he grabs her hand strongly he looks at the wound. but Khushi is tenacious, "leave my hand."

He gets his hanky from his pocket and presses it on her wound to absorb the extra blood.

She winces in pain, what makes him wince inwardly. she looks at his eyes with astonishment. He looks at her too.

a lovely scene that has happened the bandagement love it

In GH there unpaid servant Shyam Jha gets delectable to hear that the auspicious day is today of the engagement. But got sad at the same time that the time is 6:00 P.M. and he sees that it is just 5 minutes to 6. so how cum the engagement will take place. he is getting furious, His expressions scared me . i must say Abhas is a brilliant actor. how he changed his expression from upset to angry, looked so slithery! he looks at his watches that strikes 6.😡😡🤢 but he makes the story move forward with his moves

The ambiance rifes with the blowing conch, recitation of the chant and the shrill bells In the mandir right at 6 P.M. Arnav puts the bandage on her specific finger, what goes straight to the heart. we will later see how Arnav really considered it as their engagement. "mei to apki hi hu" God made her only for him and he marked her of his own at the auspicious time. Time ceased to exist as they just stood there, caught in a little babble where nothing else could intrude. As he stays silent, all her pent up emotions spits out in a slightly incoherent manner and with her voice quivering a little, "I refused, but you still. what do you want from me? he can't continue as the priest intervenes for Arti. Khushi performs the ritual and drinks the holly water. But Arnav refuses to do the ritual. Khushi agitates, "this much of disrespect to God! " Arnav says, 'I don't believe in God." Khushi emulates, "I forgot that Arnav sing raizada doesn't believe in God. Cause he thinks he is God himself.

Arnav says sternly, "also remember that I write my own destiny. i do whatever I feel to do."

Khushi is also incorrigible,"aur aap bhi e bath yaad rakhna, ekdin aisa ayega jaab aapko pata chalega, ki apne ap ke liye jo kuch bhi lekha, devi maiya ne apko hath pakar kaar likhaya hai. aap jo kuch bhi karte hai unki marji se karte hai. aur age bhi unki hi marzi hongi. lekin jis din apko e pata chalega naa uss din woha hum nahi honge.(translation: you also remember this thing that,a day will come when you will realize, DM made you write whatever you have written for you. whatever you do, you do according to her wish and you will also do the same in future. when you will realize this thing I won't be there.

arnav- us din kya, aaj se issi paal se mere zindegi se nikal jao.na tumhare shakal dekhni hai, na tumse koi bath karni hai. aur ye definitely mere hath mei hai Khushi Kumari Gupta.

translation: why that day, right now you go away from my life. nether I want to see your face nor want to talk to you.and it's definitely on my hand.

her heart lurched painfully, "aaj ke bath hume bhi aap se kahi nahi milna Mr. Arnav singh Raizada.

translation: from today i also wish not to meet you ever.

pause: pondering point is, almost a year later Arnav will come to the mandir, complete all the rituals as per khushi's wish before the remarriage. he will actually be more eager to do all the customs of the marriage.So we should think before, to challenge God. Only he is the supreme power who knows how to write a person's destiny.

The shrilly sound of "Tuhi bata mere maula" depicts their inner turmoil. They avows not to see each other again. But still can't takes their eyes of from each other.There is billow of words in their gazes.

A cruel man in GH is ravaging a bed ridden sick man. As the engagement couldn't happen he is taking his revenge on him. he is now fabricating his medicine.He throws the real medicine and shows him another medicine what will detour his condition. he shows a ring and a file of medicine and tells him that "suhaag ka sej sajane ke liye arthio ka daar dekhana zarrori hotha hai. nahi samjhe, kuch pane ke liye kuch khona parta hei" he gets the wrong medicine and smiles derisively.

pause; I didn't understand what Shyam actually meant.

Khushi enters GH in a very pensive state. Buaji doesn't take a moment to remind her about the engagement. Khushi turns in a jolt, hearing this.she still wants to elude from this engagement, despite of Arnav's rejection. Buaji is taunting her why she is surprised to hear about her engagement. So buaji knows Khushi is not ready for marriage. Payal and Amma also get agitated. My question is, if everybody know khushi is not happy with this marriage, then why they are coercing her? payal lets her know that buaji went to pandit to look for the mahurat of the sagai. she can't finish her convo when they hear Shyam's holler, "mausaji kya hua?" all of them rush to his room and see baabuji is gasping in pain. the wicked guy is smiling devilishly back there. khushi asks shyam about the medicine. the liar lies her. khushi runs to call the doctor. Amma and buaji are really tensed. the nefarious guy tells them that he gave the right medicine, but he doesn't know what happened? "i just told uncle that the engagement couldn't take place as the auspicious time was over. and don't know when the shubh mahuraat will come next." buaji's mind triggers at his words. he continues."I just said so, then saw uncle started to gasp." Shyam protrudes the issue of the engagement."now how the engagement will happen?"

Khushi comes and feed babuji the real medicine. the devil gives an evil smile and thinks that buaji gonna implement his next sham now.

Arnav pushed Khushi away from his life,but it's not easy to forget her.

Arnav and Khushi's engagement took place at an auspicious time at Devi Maiyya's temple. But, instead of a ring, a bandage was used. The bandage is made up of cotton fibres. Cotton fibres are used to make threads of various thicknesses and sizes. Some of such threads are used to tie rakhis on Raksha Bandhan day. Some are tied as sacred threads on arms and wrists.

In the south, during the marriage rituals, the mangalsutra used to tie, is made up of mainly thread smeared with turmeric. It is said that the mangalsutra has always been made of the turmeric thread. Only very wealthy women would replace that with golden ones. The gold mangalsutra is essentially only a substitute for the actual thread one. Even today, many women wear turmeric threads for mangalsutra even when they can afford or already have golden ones.

So I felt, after thinking all these, that Arnav and Khushi's engagement has actually taken place in the most traditional way. It just makes me more happy. 😃
