The Hoax

Can spiders smurk? Well, I see one with a disgusting hoax in his web and his many beady eyes have zoned in on his prey. He has placed the bait out there and Buaji has grabbed it and is now forcing a nave, upset Kushi and family, to engage herself to this smurky spider. Yuck!

Of course this engagement is carried out in an inauspicious way. It is not real, it means nothing. She has already pledged her heart to Arnavji and he has to her, even if they are both being ninkanpoops right now. He has engaged her at the auspicious time and day even though her ring was made from an adhesive bandage. They have been linked together for all eternity by Devi Maiyya.

Buaji you really are behaving like an idiot. I am trying to understand your feelings but I just can't. I guess if I was in her place thinking her thoughts, I may have the same feelings of urgency to pacify my brother and help him healif I hought these were his wishes. Just maybe but I don't think so.

Buaji insists that Kushi put the ring on Shyam finger, it is most appropriate she says. Kushi is confused and looks to her father but he is of no help right now. Garima and Payal's words have no meaning to Buaji. So Kushi is brought into this Hoax by Buaji and Shyam. Kushi is handed the ring by Buaji and with tears in her eyes she places the ring on him with only thoughts of her LG. When it is his turn to place the ring on her finger she has to be told to give her hand to him. She lifts her hand with the bandaged finger and they realize this ring can not be placed where it is suppose to go. Someone else has claimed that finger! She hands him the other hand and he places the ring there. It doesn't count in my opinion. I loved the conversation you girls had about the ring actually belonging to Arnav so I guess that is ok and now she has been engaged to Arnav twice! It is all a hoax. You deserve it Shyam, but poor Kushi is in pain and I feel for my little one. During this entire time her mind has been on her rakshas, her LG, the one who has been her torment but who has become her savior and love as well.

He is restless. Does he feel or sense something happening? I wonder. Her blood is on his fingertip, it has stained him. It seems to seep into him and he can feel her. He speaks her name. This man is in his own turmoil.

She is outside under the moon and the stars. Her mood, serious and brooding, instead of an excited bride to be; she sits with tears rolling down her cheeks. Shyam comes and continues his hoax. Smooth talker you are Shyam; Kushi is silent. He gives her a gift, she doesn't want it but he says to think of him as a friend and she can't refuse. She takes it. He leaves.

She looks at her engaged hands, both of them, one Arnavji the other Shyam.

He is still restless, his words playing over and over again through his mind, "I want you out of my life! I don't want to see you or talk to you!" Kushi's answer to him is the same as his. They have gone separate ways…this bothers him. It doesn't feel right. DAMMIT! He furiously tries to remove the blood from his fingertipe that belongs to her. It won't shed so easily. He hears himself, '"I said leave Dammit!" As he wipes his fingertip, he recalls his heoic saving of her. He throws the tissues down one by one they aren't wiping away any of her memories! That's it! Her throws the tissue box, throws himself on his chaise, closes his eyes, taking a deep breath, he is done. Recalling placing the payal on her ankle just did it.

"I won't remember it! From today, I won't think about it again"

Shyam's back home after getting engaged to another woman. Anjali says he must have won a case he seems happy. Oh yeah, Anjali he has won a hoax case. She notices his wedding ring off his finger; he says it is being polished ay yhe jeweler. This disgusting man bases his marriage not on a ring but on her wealth.

His relationships with the Gupta's and the Raizada's are based on his well made plans and the wicked web he weaves, the Hoax, which they have all fallen into.

Kusi has taken off the ring and Buaji scolds her and tells her to put it back on and when her wounded finger heals she should put it on that finger because that is the finger whose vein connects straight to the heart. She remembers her finger being wrapped yesterday at 6 PM by Arnav.

She has given him her heart ….

Episode 116: The key to you

"aap ki manat ki chabi gir gayee.

"you dropped your prayer key"

Her pearls had already made its way into his pockets the night before, and when she picked up that key of his both had become an intricate part of eachtoher's lives by only their second meeting.Today the key truly comes full circle. The key was to a mannat that Anjali kept for Arnav before he started his empire and by the design of higher powers (and some crafty CVs), that day Khushi became the key's guardian. Today she returns it to Arnav only to lead him back to her and bind her to himself forever... and in a way become his key's guardian for life.

what a perception. never thought like that.

He watched her leave the RM, leaving him feeling untterly hollow. About to bury his head in his file again (as if he could really concentrate after watching her walk out of his life), the key called out for him. He picked it up and gathered all his might to toss it far away, "Rukiye! (stop!)" Kushi's voice stops him, he remembers "aap ki manat ki chabi gir gayee. (you dropped your prayer key)."

Though the mannat meant nothing to him, perhaps the realization that Khushi had kept it all this time did mean something. Maybe that's why he feels the key with his thumb and encloses it tightly in his fist as the sight of her blood.

"Khoon? (blood?)" thoughts rush back to when he shoved her, her name echoes on his lips from within "Khushi?" ...how was this man ever going to even begin to live with out his Khushi? His need to protect her, to keep her safe surpasses any 'farqs" and any promises to himself. After ordering her to "leave dammit"...here he is dropping his important files, at a mandir, with a bangage in his pocket, ready to tend to her injury...kind of a comedic in a way. how right he is when he would later say "Love can reduce anyone to anything"

he went to heal her wound as a compensation to injure her heart. or may be his compunction was killing him, may be it's an excuse to see her for the last time again.

Before he got here, she prayed to DM to for courage to move on. She talks of never going back to that house, or seeing the face of that laad governor, she even talks about the key that she returned.." bhool se bhi unhe yaad nahi karenge (i won't think about hi even by mistake)" How her eyes go to a place where she knows how hard that will be...maybe even impossible.

"bas aapka ashirwaad hamaare saath rahe, hamme yekeen hai ki aapne hamaare liye kuchh achha hi socha hoga (just keep bestowing your blessing, surely you've thought of something good for me)

The shankh (conch shell) is back with a bang indicating another auspicious milestone for these to meant-to-be lovers. The first time we heard it, Arnav broke Khushi's fast on teej and the second time was when a chunri was flung from him and landed on her head, in that moment her amma's words rang in her mind

" jisse rishte ki taar judi ho... agar usske haath aapke sar pe, matlab aapke man ke meet ke haathon, aap ke sir pe chunri gir jaaye... toh uss jodi ko shaadi ke bandhan mein bandhne se koi nahi roke sakta."

"If a chunri lands on your head by the person you have a connection to, by the one you secretly love, noone can stop that couple from forming an union"

Well the chunri as fallen and today the they come one step closer to "shaadi ka bandhan (unionship)"

The conchshell announces his arrival, and she feels his breeze.

She leaves the mandir after ringing the bell. The windy gusts blind her with her dupaata, there are also red chunnis fying everywhere with great anticipatin. They're here to symbolizing whats to come, and to accompany the auspicious moment at 6:00pm

She pulls down the dupatta from her face, only to find his [handsome] shakkal in front of her. so much for all all the goals she just laid out...then again, DM has never listened to her when she asks to be away from him.

What is this girl to thinK? he just very roughly told her to leave and now he's here, voice mellow as ever calling out for her, "Khushi" his eyes filled with concern and alot of mooshy things but not a trace of that red hot anger she left him with.

She decides to ignore and walk around him

"Khushi, i'm talking to you, you can leave like this!" change of tone, he means business.

This is the second time he's come after her after breaking her heart, can't blame a girl for getting angry now. "why can't i go? this life is my own, i can go where ever i please anytime, besides, i don't work for you anymore so you have no right to order me!" no right, no haq ? this doesn't sit well with Arnav, he turns around, teeth clenched "Dont talk to me like that" how dare she, he has full rights, pura haq one her...only he wants her out of his life..silly ASR

She's scared but she dares him still "Kyu? kya kar lenge aap?"(why? what are you going to do?) she forgets he can do plenty. He grabs her hand and swiftly pulls her, his hands on her shoulders for the second time today, only this time its in public.

khushi belongs to him. he can do anything with her. Don't know why i love his possessiveness.

Khushi asks him to let her go a people started to stare, as always, he could care less about other people. He slowly releases the shoulders seeing she's hurting only to glide gently down to her hand , closely. Her resistance is short lived.

"Tumhe""You're" lost composure, cracked voice, gives himself away for a sec as he uncovers the the wound. He quickly gathers himself "Tumhe chot lagi hai (you're hurt)".

She snaches her hand away "SO, what's it to you?" she's has had enough with this side of him since she knows the other harsh side is not too far away. He is in no mood to argue with her.

"Khushi, stop fussing. apna haath do mujhe (give me your hand)" ooohh the clever CVs, have they snuk in a proposal ASR style? Khushi tells him that he needn't worry about her, then she started to use his line against him "hamme na hi aapse baat karni hai..nahi -" but he interrupts, he can always dish it out but can never take it .." don't cause a scene Khushi"

Khushi tells him that she is not the one causing the scene, he grabs her hand with tight grip, she tries to escape but his hold uff, his hold, she askes to be released but he ignores reaches in his pockes with the other hand to pull the bandage out. lots of talk going on with eyes.

Parellel moments take us to the GH, where snakwa learns that 6:00 is the best time engagement. It is 6 o'clock, much to snakewas disapointment...as Khushi's amma said, noone can stop such a union from happening where the chunri lands on her head from the hands of her "man ka meet (the one she secretly loves)"

So it begins, he starts to wrap the bandage around her ring finger, the one that goes straight to her heart as buaji would later say. Mantras are being chanted while DM is shown smiling in the back ground, Khushi looks on, taken back by him, all of him, and he look up a few times to see her face, the shankh is heard again, announcing the happening. The camara circles around the two, as their bond is strengthened.

Her dupatta rejoices like never befoer, and the red chunis continue to dance in celebration. The chanting of the mantras come to an end as the mandir bells get louder. Under the brights shining sun, as DM as their biggest witness, sound of the Shank is heard for the third time, announcing the completion of their engagement.

what can be more solemn than this! just perfect isn't it?

What an amazing scene, designed, written and directed so well. If only i was one of those people who got to see the shooting that spoiled the dramatic shot...if only.

Though they are oblivious to what just happened, i sense they feel some significance of this moment. She will soon understand it and at some point he'll get it too because he will remind her of this moment during their remarriage and tell her that technically she has been his "tab se" (since then).

that means,he actually cherishes all the moment of their togetherness, love or hate!

She moves her hand away, His eyes remain on her as if trying to figure out how he will survive without seeing her face.Khushi breaks the silence, "humne m-mana kiya tha na, phir bhi aapne..(I told you not to, but you still)" then she asks the million dollar question "What do you want from me?" Arnav is saved by the Pandit ji, who is there with the prashaad, she takes it and and is highly offended when he refuses is. "You cant come to the mandir and disrespect God -"

"i don't believe in God" he swifly fires back

Another resemblence here to the day when Khushi found the key. There was a similar spat between the two then also that was spawned from his "phaik do (throw it away)"

"haan hum to bhool hi gayee the ki Arnav Singh Raizada bhagwaan mein vishwaaas nahi kartey, kyu ki woh khud ko hi bhagwaan maan te hai" (oh i forgot, ASR doesn't believe in God, because he thinks he is God!)

Just like that day, he tells her that he writes his own destiny, and does whatever he wants. So she reminds him

"ek din aisa aayega jab aapko pata chaelega, ki aapne apne liye jo bhi likha hai, woh DM ne aapka haath pakad ke aapse likhwaya hai, aap jo kuchh bhi karte hai, unki marzi se karte hai, aur aage bhi unki marzi hogi"

"One day, you'll realize that, whatever you have written for yourself, DM has grabbed your hand and made you write it, whatever you do, is what she wants."

Based on what just happened, Khushi would be proven right. Maybe that way the maker were trying to prove today by coming full circle. nothing is wrong in Arnav's belief system or lack there of either. But the makers built this aspect up for viewers to believe that he would come around some day and admit Khushi was right. Thankfully he didn't, I always felt he found peace and sense of faith in life after Khushi, but showing him to become a worshiping man would've killed a part of his character that makes ASR, ASR.

So true. Later before the remarriage when he came to the mandir, he came to make Khushi happy, it's not that he became a devotee of God.But whatever is his belief I do respect him a lot.He is a man of strong principal and ethics. He is not deceitful like Shyam who shows tremendous trust on God, but harm people vigorously.

Khushi continues "but the day you find this out, i won't be there that day" this rubs him the wrong way

'uss din kya, aaj se, infact isi pal se meri zindagi se nikkal jaao, na tumhari shakkal dekhni hai, na tumse koi baat karni hai aur yeh def mere haath mein hai Khushi Kumaari Gupta"

"why from that day, from today, infact from this moment, get out of my life, I don't want to talk to you or see your face .

a fast rendition for "tu hi bata mere maula" as they depart in opposit directions, but the sun still shining brightly, to me a sign of their bright future.

What a scene it is as they both walk on each side of the mandir, but beside each other, symbolic as that's how they continue to be with eachother till the kidnapping, giving true meaning to the words "Na paas aa sake, na door ja sake"

but the quintessential thing is, woh dono dur ja ke bhi paas he. Their hearts are always close to each other.

Shyam who is exulting his victory after giving the poison to the ill man, now gets more happier to see buaji's reaction. so his evil plot is getting successful gradually. How cum a loving daughter can refute when somebody black mails her with her father's sake! Payal is frustrated, "Khushi's engagement like this?' She knows how she always dreamed for a big wedding. amma also can't support bua, "Let him recover a bit." No buaji is inexorable. she is determined to slaughter that girl as early as possible. She thinks this marriage will give her bro peace. wow how shyam manipulated that naive old woman!

He is getting imbecile, vehemently trying to wipe the blood away from his finger. He grabs more tissues to erase all the memory, how she bumped and landed on his chest, how she pulled her towards him when she accused him a characterless. He wants to forget his apology to her. wants to efface,how she hugged him in the hospital for condolence, how they fall on rangoli entangled. He throws the box of tissue in rage. the tissues of the whole world can't wipe her memory, cause her memory is engraved in his heart permanently. How can he wipe the diwali night, when she took his breath away, made him insane by her mesmerizing beauty. He wants to efface his first gesture of love to a girl, how he grabbed her foot to put the anklet, how he attempted to kiss her luscious lips passionately! A tempest in his heart is pulsating him vehemently. He is grumbling in agitation, "not gonna think of her again."

Shyam is exulting his triumph. he hides the ring as he is in shantivan. When Anjali notices him delectable, as usual he veneers with his mellifluous talk, "I won a case, what was troubling me for so long. today judge gave the verdict on my favor." Anjali gets incredulous not seeing his wedding ring on his finger. but sly shyam answers her in his usual knavery. And naive Anjali trusts his swindler husband. we also came to know that he married Anjali just to suck her money.

While Khushi was going for shower, she feels the breeze again. The bandage makes her sense her Arnavji again. She takes off the engagement ring, what doesn't go unnoticed by buaji, she scolds her to put it again. she wants to make her understand the significance of the ring. she also reminds her to put it on the ring finger when her would will heal. She tells her that the nerve of that ring finger goes straight to the heart. buaji's words makes her ebbing in Arnav's memory again, how Arnav wrapped the bandage on her finger! Her dil is already connects to his dil. so their reunion is inevitable, just a matter of time.
