Epic scene 3: Arnav's repentance

After a long time I am continuing the epic scenes series
Too held up in work
I had waited for this scene for months
Revisit it to rekindle your memory

I had fought for this scene
Made multiple posts for it
Yeah this is the repentance scene from Arnav
Repentance for the way he had ruined Khushi's life
For the way he had destroyed her dreams
For the way he had misjudged her
For the way he had ruined her image in front of the society and his family
For the way he had caused her umpteen miseries
For the way he had mercilessly thrown her out
I remember I had hoped and dreamed for a month of intense repentance
For regret from Arnav's side for every action
For him to realize how each thing had impacted her
For him to realize that things gone wrong cannot be rectified with a simple sorry because Khushi's life had suffered beyond repair
But what did we get? Just 2 mins of Arnav's realization
Followed by a sorry
A blink and miss realization
Some people said, it is enough he realized.
Why should he repent?
He loves her etc.
I agree. Realizing is a big thing. I was happy too. But was it enough?
I wondered if these people ever thought from the POV of Khushi and her life
From the POV of a woman and what happens when her character is questioned and she is forced into marriage
Though Barun was brilliant in this scene
I can't help thinking how good he would have been if there was an entire repentance track
People said the repentance track was chucked because he left for the MAMR movie
I for one never believed this.
From Feb-May he was available when they had GH and Swami and other tracks
Again from June onwards he was availabe
I refuse to believe that the writers could not even give a week of repentance track
And could only think of a 2 min repentance, though it was heartfelt
Till date this remains my most disappointing scene which was supposed to be epic scene, because what has been anticipated for months turned out to be a sheer flimsy affair

The repentance track was the reason the hoopla over past was created, the hate marriage was just too much & the kidnapping track was sort of accepted. But when we got was the DKS track all thanks to the Negotiationist & later on due "the concept of not letting ASR's character get spoiled" the repentance was never there & we got more lame tracks like Hitler / Another saut in the form of Sheetal as if Anjali was not enough for it !

If the repentance track had happened I am sure the show could have easily survived !

Indeed it is an epic scene. I wish there had been a better redemption track where Barun could bring his brilliant acting skills on.

I think that the PH wanted to just finish of the story instead of developing it further ,felt from their post that they no longer were interested in the show.
yes the regret that he conveyed was truly epic .

Well said rima , We waited so long for repentance track, as you said at least one week of repentance is also good but cvs wasted time on unnecessary tracks . And Barun would have done justice to this track also, for two mins he could show so much emotions, I wish PH should have put above track

I don't know what to say now, as I am in agreement-disagreement with this. Yes, if they had brought the redemption track, it would have been really amazing. It was because of Barun's absence they introduced that kidnapping track and where he got to know about Khushi's innocence and realized his love for her. As he was unavailable, these feelings could not be executed so nicely, or it didn't come that well for the audience to understand what he is going through. Then the story took a different deviation and Anjali was in focus, where also they could have shown this redemption along with this anjaliy drama. What they showed in the name of repentance was a useless thing, the only thing that attracted me was arnav stood up while asking sorry and that gesture attracted me a lot, someone mentioned this at that time, I don't remember if it was you or Ricky, so the credit goes to that person. The only thing i wanted arnav to repent strongly was calling khushi a characterless person, which I could not stand.

As khushi told him during farmhouse SR, whenever he made her cry, the one who hurt was him only. Strictly my point of view. Instant redemption one or the detailed one, either of this was okay for me.

I forgive and forget things very easily. I don't expect any repentance from my loved ones even if they hurt me, because I know when they hurt me, they also get hurt.

Khushi and arnav were epic characters, but their story didn't grow much after remarriage, it got stagnant after that. Khushi didn't get much importance and her feelings were sidelined most of the time. Her being an orphan was not discussed in the story where anjali's feelings and her story was given more importance.

Its so refreshing to see post that talk about the show and characters and its amazing that even after the show had ended, analysis to the core we still have so much to analyze and so many layers to peel - THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF THIS SHOW!!

I miss the show goes without saying - but I deeply miss reading everyday analysis and writing my own analysis!!! This show has given many many things to many of us and one of the key contributions of the show is it woke, created, polished and groomed some amazing writers among st us.

THANKS FOR THE POST RIMA 👏
