Sim - I wish I had an answer to your question. We all want to know why SP ended the show all of a sudden on that Monday. Some were ready to accept a replacement or new character while others weren't. Think about how the ones who wanted the show to continue with someone new felt... cheated right? You cannot please everyone. The calls demanded that they retain BS thinking he had been wronged, but that was not going to happen, so then the callers demanded no matter what no one else can play ASR, so then they made a new character but no one wanted that either. The callers also demanded that if BS cannot be retained and a new character is being brought in then they should end the show. It's pretty confusing for a channel in such a situation trying to figure out what to do, they had just lost the lead of a show, the PH was not cooperating, and the fans were upset. The interview you have mentioned, well after it, the theories became even more incessant.

It seems as if the problem was between the PH and actor and SP had to step in to fix it but while doing so they also got stuck in the muck.

IF is not a good sample of the t.v. viewing demographic. We are not the trp bringers, half the people here are living outside of India so the opinions of those of this forum probably did not matter to SP. Maybe the 1000s of calls annoyed them and exhausted their staff, or maybe SP got tired of the issues the PH was having and rather than continue a show that was causing them trouble they decided to end it. It's not like ipk was doing amazing trp-wise for a long time anyways right?

In the end, it was us, the fans who were taken for a ride.

The purpose of this post was to get some fun out of his funny/confusing interviews. Every part of life has humor and one should take it humorously.

I am not blaming Barun here for taking his decision. He has every right to explore and get success. He is a brilliant actor. But at the same time if he want to be successful he should stay committed to his job and most important to his words. Giving contradictory statements, confusing audience by giving different interviews with different reasons will only create chaos and damage his image.

I guess in this forum we cannot give negative comments about him but we are not allowed to get humorous about his quitting statements. Tis forum is meant only to drool, drool and drool. BAS.

Me too ..I am tired of this constant Sobti Samachar express every single day. This obsession has gone out of the limit that some people are not ready to accept the reality and above all they don't want to accept the flaws that he created.

Only Gul said he is leaving. So if anyone is being unethical here.. it's Gul... saddest part is .. she was the only one speaking the truth but if all the concerned parties have mutually decided on something then she should have stick to it na?

My memory is a little shady regarding the sequence here, but I had thought that when some people had called Sp their representatives had said that he was leaving for bollywood and that was before the UK event b/c right after the UK event they put on the disclaimer..but I'm not too sure

We had seen the show going down the drains since march and with Shital and Mrs. India track it hit the rock bottom... that gave me enough time to judge them.. they lost my trust at least. Frankly if you ask me.. IF they had given a mind blowing story to the new lead.. it would have been the ground for more conspiracy theories. Think about it.. Barun the main lead actor was given the crappiest tracks.. and the new guy is given amazing tracks... more fodder for conspiracy theories. So in a way.. it's good that they ended it.

See, if I was a creative how do I write for an actor when I don't even know he's staying or leaving because according to some his contract ended in June or July. How do you come up with a track not knowing how long you will have to execute it because your main lead actor is leaving.

And my disagreement is with those people who want to put the entire blame on Barun. I agree it was a collective thing... that lead to the shut down. I'll say it once more.. I think the entire thing was handled very badly by ALL of them. I don't think Barun is God but I don't think he is the devil either.

I have never put all the blame on Barun just like I don't absolve him of any as well.

This was my first post regarding the matter https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/70594166 right from the beginning I have never blamed him alone.

But I also never agreed with the abla actor theories some of his fans put forward. To me he is not a dhood peta hua bacha who doesn't know what he is doing, saying or what is happening around him.

Barun wanted to have the cake and eat it too. Bas. That was the reason he never gave a clear cut solid answer. He was in two minds about quitting or not quiting.
