I never bothered posting about Barun earlier bcause I was not a drooler and not a fan girl. I was more interested in what ASR did to Khushi

I joined the forum to defend Khushi, because at that time she was the underdog, she was the one needlessly accused and unfairly discussed

Today I feel the same for Barun. It is my empathy for the underdog which brings me here.

What did he do?

Chose a film over the show? (I am waiting for Balaji tele films to announce it. But assuming this is true)

So none of you out there accusing him change jobs? Think of your life? Move on?

Why one standard for you and one for him?

Because he is popular? He is a star? He is not speaking for himself? He is not talking straight?

Say, two months from now, the show ends, and he is out on the streets

I want to know will the same set of people bashing him, even care what he is doing to fend for himself and his family?

So the logic is, he can be jobless but he cant make a life for himself

And who are saying this?

People who have a life of their own

Jobs of their own

Who can change jobs any time

Being a public figure does not deny him the right over his own life

There is another section screaming he lied to them

Excuse me

Does this mean none of you have lied in your life?

He owes the truth to his friends, family and co stars

To the fans he said he is leaving

What, why and where is no one's business but his own

So you have a right to your privacy and your plans but he doesn't?

After 13 years in corporate life, let me assure you when a person leaves a job and takes up another offer, they always keep things under wraps till the 11^th hour

I have done it many times to avoid needless questions. Many I know have. Those in ciorporate life know what I am talking about

And there is one more section behaving as if he has wronged them

Really?

He left a show

Whatever be the reasons they are his reasons

He worked for 18 months on this show

Gave us countless hours of his life

Double shifted with a movie

Where is the thank you for that?

Because you think he slogged for money and all this effort thing for audience is nonsense

So now he has decided to slog for more money, you should not have a problem

If you think he was in this show for money, then there is no reason to feel wounded if he left for more money

But if you think he loved the show and worked for it, then there will be some appreciation too along with bashing

So if he does not get a thank you,

Such an audience also does not deserve him to stay back

Another section blaming him for Sanaya's tears

Really?

Sanaya herself has always spoken of him in high regard

She blames the fans and not Barun (which is also weird because star plus and 4 lions could not handle the business pressure)

And even if we agree he is to blame

He still owes an apology to his costars and not us

We are not the moral police who can hang him for daring to choose to leave a show

Which he wanted to leave

Everyone hs a right to job satisfaction and growth

How is Barun an exception?

There is this famous Rafi song in Pyaasa which says

'Ek hath se deti hai duniya (The world gives with one hand)

Dono hathon se le leti hai (Takes away with both hands)

Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye to kya hai (What is the point of getting such a world)

So today if some section of his fandom have ruined him with excessive adulation

Another section have ruined him with excessive attention

And one more section have ruined him by enjoying his acting without accepting him as a human being

Just a small section remains which wishes

Barun the human being does well in his life

Because Barun the human being did not ask for anything except to do his job and entertain his audience and give his role everything, which he did till the 11^th hour

So what is the use of fans who cant be happy for him?

So, I would say,

Go Barun Go

Live your life and your dreams

And away from fans who cannot wish you anything good

Though you entertained them for 18 months

Because those who appreciate your work

Will always be there with you in all your ventures

PS: I know many of my own friends will not like this post

But at present I am speaking as a human being

And what I feel for another human being and his rights

And to me that is more important than the show or differing ideologies

I agree with all that you have said Rima except the lying part. I agree we all have a right to privacy but when you become a public persona you also have some public reponsibility. He was point blank asked if he was leaving for movies and even when StarPlus was saying that he was he denied it and that one step added fuel to the fire that the conspiracy theory people already had blazing. Now, StarPlus was also lying and people as a collective needed to fight even more for this poor man who by the way never asked anyone to fight for him. He didn't need to reveal his contract or negotiations details, all he had to say is that yes it's something I'm looking into instead he said 'no, I'm taking a longish break and I may even come back to IPK2 if the storyline demands it'...which further fueled the PH wrongdoing rumors.

No one person or group is totallly responsible for what has happened, it was a complete hash up between all parties involved whether it was the PH, SP or the fans out to save Barun or the fans out to save Arshi/Sarun and Barun.

Barun Sobti has every right to live his life the way he chooses and I think he is an amzingly talented actor who God willing will achieve every success in his career but he does need to take some responsibility for the show shutting down not because he chose to leave but he chose to remain silent even when he saw what was happening. If Sanaya knew that people were asking for the show to be shut down then Barun must have also known and at that point a proper well thought out statement may have stopped the havoc that has been wreacked and maybe this evening would not have been the last episode of IPKKND.
