i haven't heard any of the interviews. i gather barun wanted to act only for a year. somehow, neither irritates me, nor makes me angry. makes me smile if anything.

so the guy felt that is what he wanted to give this serial. what is wrong with that? and when he realised the popularity of it, he respected the realities and his production house and his cast and didn't go shouting from the rooftops how he wanted out. he knew that would be irresponsible. he expected his ph, his employers, to do the needful.

that's where everything went wrong. everyone started the game, the fear of losing money top of mind.

let the guy go. his life. his choices, his decisions.

love must allow for that. hai na?

in the the case of mr bond, we know what happened to the one who took the shot. she was his friend, remained his friend. maybe the same in the skyfall of mr sobti?

pity, the lady boss here wasn't made of the same mettle as m. but she also perhaps won't survive what is about to ensue.

as for mr sobti, a little chill out time. and then that "r" word.

oh i so want to see a vm with that song and mr sobti, barun sobti.

just posted that above on crooner 1.56. really as i look at the words, it's as though my dear dear actor's inner desires emblazoned there. he has dreamt of this moment and would have been a dream too if the ham handed handling of the situation by his employers and channel hadn't turned it into a nightmare. sometimes i wonder what he'd feel if he read the things we write.

gut tells me, he'd laugh his head off.

but one part of him will be deeply touched and that will change something in him permanently, just the way he changes us. like this boy, because he feels real, and big, and capable of honesty and learning, open to another world. i wish him a fabulous break and time with his family. and if after that, bollywood is his desire, all the best there. strive, seek, find, do not yield. to again borrow from m's lines and tennyson.

oh and i don't really believe the ph let him go because he wanted a break. my theory and it need not be absolutely right but again i feel might have some truth in it: he did at a point say he didn't want to work more than a year. we all say things. have a feeling he was quite happy to go on, provided certain conditions were met. like decent tracks, no messing of characters, a short break. normal things. that was not to be. and everything spiralled out of control.

now of course the actors must take the fall. happens. we know who gets redeemed. and returns.

viraf/no viraf. who cares. magic once created cannot be destroyed.

nor can it be created by deconstructing it.

so dear star plus and ph: enjoy your viraf as asr days. it will be interesting to see how sanaya handles this.

it's a lovely poem and reminds me again of something from a movie or something: it doesn't take courage to die, it takes courage to live.

i hope this whole fiasco gives more to barun than it takes away.

Then I googled and came to know that the actor playing the role of Arnav Singh Raizada is "Barun Sobti"..Didn't like the pic that was given in Wikipedia..Days passed and there came Teej episode..after watching that I had to go back and watch all the episodes from the beginning and that's when I fell in love with ASR'his entrance got me hooked to that character..I started thinking about his attitude and the one liners that he gave.."Arnav Singh Raizada ka nishana kabhi nahi chubta" who would forget that.. But I didn't like Barun's voice..I had to rewind the episodes again n again to understand what he spoke..Again I didn't know at that time that he would prove me wrong. First time I liked Barun as an actor was in rain hug scene which I watched much later..His eyes spoke volumes in that scene..and when I watched him say "Lemme finish"'there was no going back..

I have ended up watching BHPH to see how Barun was as Shravan, landed in IF, watched all the ads where he appeared, browsed for all the interviews that he gave. I was never obsessed with any actor, I liked Kamal Hasan, Chiranjeevi in 80s as commercial hero, SRK in 90s, Aamir as a matured actor in '00s but never fell in love with an actor, that too both as an actor and as a person. I started loving his work even more when I saw his offscreen segments. How can one man be so chilled out off screen and with full of attitude and power on screen..

This show, Arnav-Khushi, Barun-Sanaya, gave me lot of relief in my life, when I needed the most, when I needed to be distracted. I will always remember their fights, his attitude, her fighting spirit, her madness, their unspoken love, heart breaks, misunderstandings and their final submission to love.

I had problem with broad band connection once, when service engineer came and logged on to my laptop, 4 windows were open with ASR's pictures, I was so embarrassed. I called up one person to enquire about their services and I asked "Is it AR group?"..Even today I have no clue what I was thinking. I called a colleague "Barun", my dinner shifted to living room, I used a male actors photo as DP. This list goes on.
I was about to write more but realized that I am getting carried away. Just now I wrote in a PM to Farha that there can be only one ASR and there can be only one Barun..which already happened to me I have had enough of wonderful memories for a life time from this show.so I don't want anything else from Indian tele..I am done!!

just now i was telling my friend in her 40's how much i have learnt from my being hooked on ipk. apart from the sheer joy of watching a lovely show and feeling energized by the mere presence of a man, i entered the world of forum, spoke to so many of you, had a first hand experience of a new world, where connectivity had changed things so much we have not yet even begun to fully understand it.

she smiled and called it midlife crisis. we always need to put everything into neat little boxes. not understanding something unsettles us. she and another friend laughed loudly at my state. loving a hindi serial? ugh. i thought i'd say something. then i just let it go.

but by then i'd already said it was a major growth point and experience in my life and i'd rank it with falling in love, meeting and falling for my husband, having my kid years later, and other such major experiences.

she almost passed out. oh i have disturbed my friend a lot today. hehe.

was never a tv person, after barun leaves, no more indian telly. unless he comes back in another show. fine actor, i have never felt like this about any actor before. intend to watch him grow. if he returns.

Wonderful post. All these last days' negativity has literally drained me. So from a "barun this and Barun that' I'm at a point where I'm more like readingthe awesome thoughts about him from the others and hope that some net savvy person in the set shows him how much he, Barun Sobti the actor , the person is well respected ...not only for his epic portrayal of ASR but for being who he is.

I wish him all the best in what he strives to be...he has what it takes, the luck part we can send all our good vibes his way.

The guy whose art inspires other cannot be just a tellly actor...he has the potential to be something much bigger, only if bollywood is lucky enough to tap it.

I bade adieu to IPK after thursday's episode, but ASR Khushi I still believe in...as the actors portraying them can turn a mundane scene into something else, like daari chubhta hai scene on friday. That cannot be replaced.

hopefully some smart bollywood guy picks on this. and there's noneed for godfather or casting couch.

this guy will make money for whoever works with him.

and what a real, out there, human guy this is.

to even dare to be just human in this plastic worshipping world.

i have not yet stopped watching. till barun is there. i feel i owe this to him and me.

again a wharton educated, 40 something friend of mine told me with a slightly pitying look on her face: this is midlife crisis. then said she's read all three volumes of 50 shades of gray.

asked her if she knew how that came about.

she didn't.

she felt while reading it that she'd perhaps missed out on many things in life.

i said, there's still time.

thanks to my funny connection with barun sobti, i have enjoyed myself so much for a year and a half, explored so many emotions and feelings again and again. all edifying, all returning life to existence. so much thrill in just a few moments. can only have the most positive effect on everything 😆. and i discovered the online world of viewers and fans, i found you.

how come nothing of all of this feels like a midlife crisis. seems to be fab fifties discovery. ha ha. me incorrigible.

if this thread fills up with lots of love. and no tension. just a whole lotta luv, shall find a way to send it to mr sobti. may make him feel hot, cool, wunderbar. the way he is.

dere z an actress called Manju Warrier in Malayalam movie industry..by far d most versatile actress in Indian cinema without any doubt... if anybody wants to see her movies go to to youtube ..she wont disappoint u...language z not a barrier ...barun sobti z a male version of dis amazing actrss in many ways...in talent n in character...utmost humble actors they are...u will be hypnotized by dem.interesting thing z both r not awre of d impact they created in d audience with deir epic portrayal of deir onscreen characters...
