Out of The Picture
Khushi watched with a sinking feeling as she watched them play. She did not know why, but suddenly she began to feel as if she was the only obstacle in that perfect family she was seeing infront of her eyes. She closed her eyes, willing herself to wake up, wishing she was just having a nightmare. She opened her eyes slowly, but to her utter disappointment, the scene hadn't changed. She watched as they played, and slowly a thin film of moisture blurred her vision. Her lower lip began to tremble and her throat became dry. She tried to hold back the tears that threatened to spill out at any moment. She saw her 'family' cheering Sheetal and Aarav, and that playful smile on Arnavji's lips. She did not fit here...Not here not anywhere in their world... This was a picture of the perfect family, and she was out of the picture...Slowly, she moved back to behind the grills, away from the Raizadas and watched mutely as they played. Her throat constricted and she wanted to run away...Run away to some isolated place and just die all alone and let go of this misery...Was there no end to her troubles? Who was she kidding? She knew she did not belong here anyway...
