Seven

Arnav leaned in with interest and passion; he felt a new sensation firing through his body. It wasn't like this with Lavanya, what on earth was happening? Arnav was inches from Khushi's lips when she suddenly moved back, this was all so wrong.

'W-w-what are you doing?' Khushi stammered, Arnav froze in his movement and just took in the situation he had been in a second back. He inhaled the essence of how awkward the closeness had gotten before looking at Khushi. He didn't have an answer to her question; it wasn't something he mentally thought about, it just physically happened. Khushi's face reddened at his selfishness, were women a joke to him? Was he trying to toy with her feelings on purpose? Rage began creeping up Khushi as she slammed the door of the telephone box open and ran out into the rain, clearly upset at what she thought Arnav was trying to do. Arnav had clearly frozen, unable to go after her; did he actually try to kiss her? And better yet he didn't even know why. Arnav brushed a hand through his hair as he tried to make sense of what had just happened, he looked up focusing outside the booth and looked around before he kicked the floor in worry. Khushi had ran out onto the busy streets of London in the rain by herself, she didn't know where the hotel was and she was nowhere to be seen. Arnav sprinted out into the rain and searched her all over.

'Khushi!' He screamed into thin air, but it was know use. She was nowhere to be seen on the busy streets of London. He tried her phone but it was off causing Arnav to worry a lot more then he ever had before, his wife was lost and he was in desperate need to find her.

After an hour Arnav covered his face in his hands, unknowingly feeling frightened for his wife, hoping she was okay. He looked up and spotted a red figure in his jacket in the far distance, instantly knowing who it was Arnav ran towards her, unaware that he was running across the road. Khushi's eyes widened

'ARNAV WATCH OUT YOUR ON THE ROAD!' Khushi screamed, the fear etched on her face. Arnav didn't once look back on the road before he grabbed her hand and pulled Khushi into his arms

'Where the hell were you! I was looking around for you like crazy! Do you even know how scared I got?!' Arnav tested, anger and relief indulged together on his face. Khushi pulled away from him, even more annoyed then before.

'Please stop this fake caring! I don't like to be played like this Arnav. Just because we are supposed to be having a honeymoon, doesn't mean you have to treat me like a real wife because I'm not. I don't want to be anywhere near you! In case you've forgotten, you're doing this for Lavanya. Not me' Khushi said bitterly

'Im not pretending, its my duty to take care of you. You are my real wife Khushi, we did the seven rounds too? You're my real wife and I have to take care of you. Even though its only going to be for a few months, but that's a different thing' Arnav replied

'Take care of me? What happened in the telephone box was not taking care of my Arnav. That was taking advantage of me' Khushi spat back

'I was NOT taking advantage of you Khushi! It' I don't know Khushi, it just happened' Arnav finished softly lowering his gaze to the floor, for once in his life Arnav Singh Raizada felt weak because of the woman that was standing before him. In the space of a few days, she had him totally vulnerable and he had no explanation to it.

'It just happened? What sort of explanation is that?' Khushi questioned, staring him down with her big hazel eyes. Arnav looked up at her and once again noticed the innocent but pained glint in her eyes providing him with the urge to hold her close again. STOP. He couldn't betray himself like this.

'Khushi, it wont happen again okay. Now lets just get back to the hotel, we've been standing in the rain for ages' Arnav distracted, rubbing his arms for heat. Khushi began taking his jacket off to give it to him.

'Keep it on' Arnav replied to her actions, Khushi did as he said and began walking towards the taxi stand. Arnav could just see the silent treatment coming his way.

The couple reached the hotel later that night, both soaked like anything. Khushi hurried to her bedroom and slammed the door harder then she had intended. Arnav knew he had blown it today, his plans were to aid their relationship into reaching a reasonable level of understanding but instead he had attempted to kiss her and practically ruined any chance of understanding between them, clearly putting up more misunderstandings in the process.

Arnav lay down on his bed, resting an arm behind his head as he went through the events that happened today. He saw Khushi today in a new light and a new sensation had overcome him in a very strong force. So strong that her beautiful eyes had managed to compel him so deeply, he was more then willing to steal a kiss from those red, bow shaped lips of hers, but why? Images of Khushi in the rain, in her red dress flashed before his eyes, making him uneasy inside. The answer was clearly staring him in the face. Arnav was attracted to Khushi. He was attracted to his wife. The idea of it seemed absolutely stupid, but it was most definitely true. Arnav didn't ever have the urge to kiss Lavanya, nor had he ever felt a source of energy, a sensation swim through him like it did today, it only made it more visible that Arnav didn't feel anything for Lavanya, only assumed he did. Arnav was puzzled as to how this hate filled relationship with his wife emerged to attraction in the space of two weeks. Arnav smiled to himself as he pulled the covers over his body in readiness to sleep. Maybe, just maybe he didn't mind his feelings.

--

Arnav's eyes opened at the crack of down, the sun shining on his face clearly symbolizing the change in weather. Arnav sat up in bed with difficulty as his head felt heavy because of the lack of sleep last night. Arnav got off the bed and headed for the bathroom, which was outside beside the kitchen. He opened the door and found Khushi had made him breakfast and placed it on the table, it was obvious she had gone back to her room. So she wasn't going to see him either, Arnav groaned at the lonely food before he stepped into the bathroom to have a shower. Arnav walked in and slid off his top to get in the shower when he realized he hadn't brought a towel with him. Crap.

'Khushi!' Arnav yelled from the bathroom hoping Khushi could hear him

'What?' She replied, her voice still bitter

'Khushi can you pass me a towel please?' Arnav bellowed, after a moment of silence Arnav heard Khushi's anklets clinking as she emerged towards the bathroom door, she knocked to inform him she had the towel. Arnav opened the door slightly and peaked his hand through to grab the towel. Khushi handed it over not realizing that the end of the towel had gotten caught on the body work of her dress. Arnav pulled the towel tagging Khushi along with it. She stumbled into the bathroom as Arnav tugged the towel and fell on his bare chest. Khushi's palms landed on Arnav's well toned, muscular body. Khushi gasped as she fell in contact with his skin, she pulled away instantly but the towel was caught extremely tight and pulled her back, causing her to fall an him again. She instantly looked away from Arnav giving him the green light to let out a smirk that he couldn't control. He smelt the flowers again and the feelings from yesterday came creeping back again. Khushi grabbed the end of her waist where the towel was stuck and began tugging at it, almost begging it to break away so she could run out as soon as possible. But there was no use, she could just about reach it let alone untangle it. Arnav brought his hand over, instantly stroking hers causing her to glare.

'May I?' Arnav asked pointing to the towel, Khushi's stiff body loosened to aware him of her approval. Arnav's hand trailed to her waist causing her body so explode a canon of butterflies, his touch burning her deeply. As soon as Arnav untangled the edge of the towel, Khushi made a run for the door trying her best to hide the bright red blush filling her cheeks. Arnav's heart began to race, this couldn't be happening. IT was too soon, it wasn't right' he couldn't do that to Lavanya. All the thoughts from last night washed over like a wave of wind. Arnav couldn't help but admit that his emotions were in no order right now, what was wrong and what was right wasn't clear for him anymore.

Arnav organized his thoughts after his shower and planned out what he needed to do, and for that he needed to get out of London fast. Within twenty minutes Arnav made arrangements to leave London today for India.

'Khushi, pack your bags' Arnav said walking into her room

'Why?' Khushi asked confusion written all over with her face

'Erm, something came up and I need to go back to India. I grabbed the soonest flight back, pack your bags, we're leaving soon' Arnav ordered as he walked out. Khushi let out a sigh as she sat down on the bed, at least he was back to his usual Raakshas self because that other side did not seem normal to Khushi.

Within an hour the couple had left the hotel and reached the airport. They boarded the plane after an hour's wait and left for India. By the next morning Arnav and Khushi were in India again and riding home in a taxi.

'So if they ask you, tell them that I had something important I had to do. That's why we came back straight away' Arnav told her, making sure she knew what to say if approached by any of the Raizada's. Khushi glumly nodded and looked away, she couldn't be bothered with Arnav's mood swings. One minute he was trying to kiss her, then he was worried about her and the next he comes all the way back to India because he needed to meet Lavanya but covering up the reason by saying he had an important meeting. Arnav noticed that Khushi knew exactly why they had come back but he couldn't help it, he was in desperate need to talk to Lavanya, it was extremely important right now.

--

The couple walked through the doors of Shantivan 10 days earlier then they had planned. As soon as Anjali saw them she gasped and stood up, her eyes suspicious for Arnav.

'What are you guys doing here?' Anjali asked knowing that a greeting was way too inappropriate for the situation

'Well Di, I had a lot of unfinished business here in India and it was urgent so we had to come back' Arnav told her, his words were anything but lies

'Chote!' Anjali moaned 'You were on a honeymoon?'

'Yes I know, I'm sorry but Khushi understands why I had to do this. Don't you Khushi?' Arnav ushered to her

'Course I do' Khushi mumbled, wondering what him and Lavanya do together that he couldn't even spend a few days away.

'See, Di I really gotta go now okay. Khushi you go and rest. Ill be back in a few hours Di don't worry' Arnav said walking towards the door. Before Anjali could reply Arnav had disappeared from the doors of the house.

--

Lavanya opened her door to find Arnav standing there, while a slight guilty expression on his face.

'Go away' Lavanya said before she attempted closing the door, Arnav managed to put his foot in and stopped her from closing the door.

'Lavanya I need to talk to you' Arnav said seriously, Lavanya knew if he said it then it was definitely important. She sighed and let him in expecting an apology from him.

'What is it Arnav? Are you here to say sorry?' Lavanya urged sitting down on the coach opposite him.

'Yes, sorry for what I'm about to tell you' Arnav said gulping at how the conversation might play out. It definitely wasn't going to be pretty.

'What is it ASR?' Lavanya asked curiously

'Lavanya, I've done a lot of thinking, and I don't think our relationship is really convenient anymore' Arnav began sending goose bumps up Lavanya's arms, she wasn't liking where this was going

'Lavanya, we did this relationship for AR and for the growth of your character as a business leader, and somewhere between this all we got a bit comfy with this relationship. It never had a deep thought out meaning and here I am sacrificing myself for something that wasn't built to last in the first place' Arnav said looking at Lavanya who had a helpless expression on her face.

'We always planned this is good for the business but my feelings for you grew Arnav, and genuinely seeing for what you did for me, I thought the feelings were reciprocal' Lavanya said as calmly as she could

'The truth is Lavanya, I realized I didn't feel much for you, but because I ws so used to you, I was compelled at the idea that I had to be with you when that wasn't true. And for yours and my futures sake I think it would be best if we just went separate ways, I initially only planned to raise your standards as a business leader, and I did what I said I would' Arnav said, making sure he didnt sound pathetic

'This is Khushi's fault isn't it? She's influencing you to do this isn't she?' Lavanya replied angrily, her fists curling up

'No Lavanya its not her fault, I'm telling you the truth here' Arnav said

'I cant believe you sometimes Arnav, you completely toyed with me' Lavanya said painfully

'Lavanya this relationship was never built on feelings, and I thought we knew that' Arnav answered

'ASR just leave, I'm glad this was cleared sooner rather then later so I know what you're intentions were. Just get out' Lavanya cried opening the door. Arnav walked out soundlessly knowing she was being melodramatic, Lavanya would have a new guy in the space of an hour and they both knew it. Arnav walked towards the car sliding his hands into his jean pockets inhaling the aura of the fresh air. He was slowly beginning to sweep the floors to success and this was the perfect place to start. Surprisingly Arnav wasn't really affected by the conversation that had just taken place in Lavanya's house only once more proving how Lavanya was a waste of his time and fight. Arnav sat in his car and drove back to Shantivan, feeling less burdened inside, maybe even happier.

--

Khushi was packing the clothes back into the wardrobe when Arnav walked into their room. She acknowledged his presence before she went back to the clothes, then suddenly Arnav spoke up

'Its over' Arnav said simply

'What is?' Khushi asked not really interested in speaking to him

'Me and Lavanya, we're over' Arnav told her,

Khushi's eyes widened as she looked over at Arnav, the clothes falling from her hands.
