I agree with the post. This is the reason why I did not care much for yesterday's episode. This reverse psychology did not work for me.

I was upset yesterday because Khushi was "deliberately" tadpao-ing ASR. As it is, there is no feeling of man-woman love in their relationship at the moment. What pleasure was she getting out of making him feel bad. All this for teaching him a lesson? Is this some kind of competition. what was wrong in wishing him and asking him what is it that he would like to do on his special day and go from there.

I am not very impressed with Khushi that we are seeing these days. They are potraying her as smug, full of herself, I am always right and a loud person. People may say she was always like this. It is the degree that has changed. She is now almost a caricature of an Indian Soap bahu. She is not only loved but revered by all including elders. She can do no wrong. Even if she does something wrong, it is not actually wrong because it was done with good intentions. She is perfect. So where are the flaws which she is supposed to have.

hi mother,

pity isn't it? khushi was always so unique. so in touch, in sync. so natural and never full of herself. the more i am seeing i am wondering, is this the opening to the new track where khushi will evolve? she will learn to understand him and understand herself too? so we start on a disturbing note and then go down that path? or is it the sp thing. never mind, i'll just watch and keep hoping i guess.

This is what was going in my mind. If this is a track. and the track is about getting to know each other and evolve then why regress? I absolutely loved Khushi. Her spirit, her attitude towards hardships and her optimistic nature. I also loved her childlike innocence, her mannerisms, her devi maiyaa, her halooo, infact everything about her. they have taken away so many things that made Khushi Khushi. It kills me to see them doing this to her. I am sad about them taking away ASR's SUV too.

Now they are making her fight for causes which do not need fighting. They can have some substantial road blocks in their relationships without compromising on inherent nature of each of these characters. Actually they are quite similar in many ways so it should not be difficult.

How are they going to tackle the relationship issues if they are not showing a very very important part of the relationship which is intimacy. this is from a viewers point of view. How will we be able to relate. Perhaps major problem in yesterdays episode was also the missing intimacy. There were plenty of opportunities but not once they showed how much they are connected with each other.

I always wanted ASR to just change his rude and mean nature. Insulting people around him, calling them gold-diggers, etc... are bad qualities that needed to be changed. So I was happy when ASR became a better person compared to his previous self. Then ASR falling in love and believing in love was an obvious change that was expected because this is a love story.
But ASR praying in the temple because of his love for Khushi or him doing the towel dance are not changes I wanted to see. And the recent one is ASR who did not like b'day celebrations might end up giving in to Khushi's liking for celebrating b'days. And I don't get it why he needs to change these things. Not wanting to pray or not wanting to dance or not wanting to celebrate b'days... these are his personal preferences and why should he change these? These are not some bad habits or something that he is expected to change. It doesn't make sense to show a love story between two people with contrasting personalities if one of them has to change to become like the other.

The Khushi I knew would not have set out to teach ASR a lesson about how he was wrong and she was right if the means was to snub a loved one and make them feel like they don't matter. The writing has made the issue about having the 'big celebration', which is a shallow goal, whereas the ame writing has made ASRs issue NOT the celebration but a quiet acknowledgement from her. If it were all fun and games, most people wouldn't be feeling horrible for ASR.

I despise that she said there should be change after marriage because he has in every way for her and it is she who has yet to listen and understand. The writing is doing no justice to her character. An SP bahu may always be shown to be right, but rarely do they go to the extent of intentionally hurting their husband for something as frivolous as a 'big celebration'. I am sad they are howing Khushi like this and I will be even sadder when another piece of ASR is broken and sent to the altar of the SP soch nayi.

That Khushi was before 1st marriage, even then she has manipulated ASR to do things her way and POV. Eg, the party and sangeet during Payash wedding.

The writing is horrible, what is worse in the end Khushi will be the one who will get angry and ASR will have to again bend and manofy her.

In this show it has become what ever Khushi does is correct and ASR is always wrong.

CAN i EXPECT A POST FROM U OFTEN!

I decided to stay quiet again! But your beautiful presentation of the things we dislike here, makes me open my mouth! Yopu are one mbrilliant writer, n best think is your are frank, aap ki kalam mein sachchai hai,, to be precise!

I totally dfeel each n every word u says,,,,,,This man is chanigng a lot,,,,a lot,,,, aloot,, i cant measure,,only if I had that measuring tape n I could measure the depth of his love apart from his stats,, only if khushi could get such a tape n she will never bother to change him!

Khushi changed him,,I believe that,,the beautiful changes in ASR was due to khushi,,,,but here,,,he doesnt' need to change any further,,,and on her birthday he was hurt, in his birthday he is hurt,, Y are CVs doing this with khushi's beautiful character!

Anyways,,,,I know both are flawed at some point, I can take many things positively, n if I am not taking I judge that part as it has crosses the limit!

BEAUTIFUL POST!

To begin with, let me just thank you for making such an endearing post ..really touched my heart, so much that I felt I should pen down my thoughts even though I am not half as good as you are with words! I started watching this show only a month back and fell in love with the characer of ASR..this has got nothing to do with how good Barun Sobti looks..just clarifying incase people say Im drooling over a hot guy for nothing..No its the character of Arnav Singh Raizada that has really drawn me to this show. from day 1 we got flashes of the humane side of his otherwise ruthless character whenever he was with his di..he was arrogant, airheaded, rude, obnoxious but for his di he has always been much more than a lil brother..sometimes its hard to tell who is elder of the two ..I was so touched by his lil gestures that showed so much love, affection and protectiveness for her..the slighest hint of something that could possibly cause her pain and he would get alarmed..that was the side of his character that only few people could stir till Khushi walked into his life and changed his whole world... From day one, they had clashes, misunderstandings, fights and what not..but even in that I noticed how everytime he hurt her, he felt apologetic..something he had never felt before for anyone other than di..I loved the contradictions in his thoughts and actions when he was struggling to comprehend the feelings he was slowly but surely developing for Khushi..Especially the diwali night, when he was mesmerised by her lush and radiant beauty and almost kissed her on the poolside..But as soon as he realised that he prolly stepped out of his character, he put his facade on and announced his engagement to Lavanya..Khushi was devastated and he understood but dint respond ..why would he? He was ASR back then! But when the same thing struck him..when Khushi announced her engagement ,he couldn't handle it.. as if some1 took away his reason for existence..loved the track that followed .Both aware of each others feelings yet helpless..then payal akash wedding saw some beautiful moments between the two..Arnav was still ASR, in control of everything, knows exactly what he wants and how to get it..even Khushi couldnt resist his bold advances, proximity and passionate gazes despite of making many futile attempts to escape from the situations..But as fate would have it, the day he decided to propose her for marriage, he saw Khushi, the woman he loved and wanted , in some1 else's arms..his own brother in law..his whole world came crashing down...he was impulsive ..true..wrong in not asking her for an explanaition ..true !!! But I dont think his decision to marry Khushi was wrong..even though it was based on a wrong assumption..Coz I look at it from an angle where he actually saved Khushi from Shyam by announcing to the world that she's not alone and no1 can dare make advances at her..that she is now HIS wife..other than obviously saving his sister's wedding in the only way he could think of at that point after hearing she was pregnant.. He was mad with anger and revenge ..hated Khushi from his head but from his heart could he ever hate her? NO! Still remember the flash of anger on his face when Garima hit Khushi..Still remember how he was restless the whole night thinking that she might be cold and uncomfortable outside..I actually think that was the best part of ArShi relationship I saw..he tried so hard to hate her but never really succeeded.. My heart went out to him the day he lied to Khushi about the fainting incident..how he made everything seem like cheap trick by him to fool her just so that she dsnt feel guilty..i still remember how he was so worried for her when her parents turned her away from their house for the pagphere rasam..he did everything that one would expect of a dutiful son in law to Khushi's family despite of having a farce marriage..But once the truth was out, that was when all his emotions surfaced out so beautifully..all the transformation that was happening all this while became so evident..he did everything in his power to win her back and get her back to his house..It was such a pleasure to see the romantic lover boy side of ASR's character ..maybe we can start calling him Arnav from this point onwards..he became the quintissential lover every woman would want in her life...agreeing to perform all rituals, walking up the stairs of the temple for her, dancing for her, standing upto dadi to protect her from her wrath, forgetting and forgiving everything related to past to embrace life with Khushi on his side..I have said this before that I think ASR has more than redeemed himself..he dsnt need to change at all now..about the birthday celebration..yes I too felt bad for him coz we know this is not the ASR people think he is..this is Khushi's Arnav ...eventhough he mite have wanted to celebrate it quietly with her but I know he'l be happy as long she is happy..and it'l all come down to him thinking fine if this is what makes her happy, so be it..but if you ask me honestly I would want Khushi to realise what he really wants I know she's not naive like they are making her out to be..she understood he wanted to make love to her in the farmhouse..now she cant understand that all he wants is a simple wish on his birthday? lets see how things turn out tomorrow..thanks again for this wonderful post..I realise I went overboard .my apologies :)

vaishali-ar, hi

apologies? i love your post. how wonderfully you recall the evolution of asr in detail, how well you understand him for what he is. i am honoured you spent this time and effort on the topic.just been watching a month. bravo. 👏

he's worth every bit of this contemplation, isn't he?

just couple of things where my thoughts are slightly different.

i think the way he married her was wrong. but his reason was essentially love. i wouldn't like to discuss it here though, that should be another post.

asr and arnav to me are one and the same person. when he's seeming all out asr there's still something of arnav in him and the other way round. and the whole character has a strangely compelling nobility despite glaring shortcomings. how beautifully loves touches him and how completely he gives in to it.

khushi is a girl after his heart and soul. and i love her as well.

he actually accepted his love while in captivity without any physical evidence of her innocence. her complete love and his feelings for her guided him to the truth. remember the telepathic conversation?

touching isn't it, we all know that he will go along with whatever khushi plans for his birthday, even though he isn't for it. because he gets his sanka devi. he never used to, but something in him always called out to her. he loves to see her innocent soul happy. even when he hated her he couldn't bare to see a single tear in her eyes, now of course, he will do anything to see her smile.

i wish like you, the beautiful character of khushi would come to the fore and realise what he wants, not manipulate him. that is so unkhushi.

BEAUTIFUL POST!

my dear dear zoha,

my posts are not as beautiful as your vm's so, no way too many posts 😆. and i find i am always here when i'm troubled. not fair, huh? my favourite favourite serial and man and woman, and me complaining. how bad is that. next time, a happy one.

thank you for saying those wonderful things about my writing.

love what you wrote in red 👏. let's get this tape and give it to our sweet khushi whom who knows what is leading here and there.

about that change thing. yes, it was khushi and her love. but to me it was evolution, a release of what was already there in him. not a radical change as much as a freeing up of a treasury of beautiful things that was buried deep within. just as her soul called out to him and got heard by him finally, so is her soul awakened and transformed by his love. i would like to see that. we saw beautiful glimpses right through kidnap and more. the farmhouse scene was unforgettable.

would be good to see khushi on that path, connected to his love as he is to hers.
