Regarding their sisters yes...but Arnav is righteous and just whereas Shyamu cannot be that... he is trying to right the wrong that was done to his sister by committing wrong deeds, attempting harm on other people. Arnav will never do that.

however hard he might try, arnav cannot be as dark and unjust as shyam even if it is for the sake of his sister!the forced marriage has a lot to do with his own feelings of betrayal and rejection than protecting di! he could have easily sent khushi off along wid her family to far away from their lives!!
