OS:The First Date

Khushi had been sitting by the poolside recalling all the lovey dovey moments that she had during her remarriage. Another drop of tear flowed down her cheeks as she recalled her first date with Arnav.

She had called him and asked him to meet at the Purple Orchid for dinner and to her amazement he had arrived there way ahead of time, even cancelling his video call. As she walked in, she could sense his eyes staring at her intensely. As she came closer to the table, Arnav had stood up and held her hand bring her to the chair and seating her down.

She recalled how he had complimented her on her black suit and how they had ordered his favourite Pasta and it was that evening that Khushi's misconception that Italian food does not taste good was changed as she had loved it. She remembered how they had been discussing of the remaining rituals and how Arnav held her hands as she spoke.

Arnav had told her that he will miss seeing her and had promised to call everyday. Khushi felt the same way and as he dropped her home that night, they shared their first kiss for once uninterrupted by anyone. Khushi once again had surprised him by initiating the move.

The more she thought of it, the more she ended up crying. Lard Governer she thought. Once again he was back to ASR mode that morning. He had shouted at her and had not even called her once. Nor did he pick up the calls she made. All that raced in her mind was had he grown tired of her now that she was 5 months pregnant.

Just then the door of the room opened and Arnav walked in with his laptop bag. He glances at the poolside and sees Khushi crying. He places his bag on the table and walks out of the room once again with a call. Khushi was so upset with him. This cold war continued even at the lunch table and it went on till 5 in the evening.

At 5, Arnav walked into his study and Khushi into their room. Just as she settled down on the bed, her phone started ringing.

Khushi: Hello

Arnav: Meet me at Purple Orchid for Dinner

Khushi: No I won't

Arnav: We'll see about it.

Arnav cuts the call and Khushi makes up her mind not to go. As it neared dinner time, Khushi changed her mind and starts getting ready. She goes to her wardrobe and starts looking fo clothes to wear. She comes across the black suit she wore the last time but looks at her bulging tummy and decides against it. She then picks out her maternity dress and wears it together with a pearl set adding a classy touch to her. She picks up her clutch bag and goes down. Nani was seated there and she tells Nani that she will be meeting up with Arnav.

As she leaves the house, she sees a white benz waiting for her. The driver steps out and opens the door for her. She gets in and soon they reach the place. As Khushi goes in, she notices the entire restaurant dark. Just then, the lights come on. She sees an empty place with almost no one around except for a table where Arnav was seating. He was still looking angry and Khushi hesitantly went near. As she went there, Arnav stood up and held her hand before seating her. He then sat opposite her and said You Look Beautiful.

Khushi who was looking down all the while looked up at Arnav's eyes.

Arnav: I am sorry Khushi. I shouldn't have shouted at you.

Khushi by now had started tearing as she realized he was holding on to her hands. Arnav proceeds to kiss her hands and continues.

Arnav: I should have expected that pregnant ladies crave for things at the weirdest time like an ice cream first thing in the morning.

Khushi managed to smile at him. He then stood up and bent on his knees. He said Khushi will you dance with me. Khushi nodded and Arnav did a slow waltz with Khushi when he whispered Happy First Anniversary for our First Date. Later on, Arnav ordered the Pasta and they ate. At the end of the dinner date, when Arnav parked his car, Khushi pulled him close and kissed him saying I remembered this as well.
