And for those that are saying they could have planned around his leave- seriously? U expect someone to put in overtime in order to take a break? If so - I really pity the person that works for/with you. A holiday means just that - a holiday... Without any work for that day. He certainly shouldn't have to make for that time off!

Had there been a need, cv's would have definitely managed with body doubles...They knew it very well...They planned it this way...We must learn to appreciate...
