The thing is the more women watch such things on tele, it gets reinforced to them that it is an accepted behaviour and it shows how well cultured the woman is accepting all the abuse whether verbal or physical. So, imagine if it changes with class episodes where it is shown how even a middle class woman can change such a thought. It is unacceptable and cannot be hidden because the man suddenly feels oh I love this girl and can't stay without her and so I should show how I can protect her and fight for her when he has simply not accepted the fact that he needs to apologise for all the cruelty he has shown over the past one year. Like you, when I watched this series I had the same feeling.

Frankly I am more amazed at the support which ASR generates in the forum, though he is a fictional character but he is shown on prime time television.

How can people blindly support him is beyond my imagination. A strong redemption track will have negated peoples resentment but it will not happen and we are getting ASR being a hero by protecting a damsel in distress.

correct imagine if asr sai sorry to khushi after she has had two or three kids😊

Rima, I read your other post late last night, but was too sleepy to comment.
Excellent points raised in both posts.

Quoting, Swathi's reply there,

At the risk of sounding controversial I am going to declare ASR can never ever be a Devdas. Devdas was an iconic literary character superbly interpreted by Dilip Kumar and anything or anybody else would be a pale imitation.

More than anyone else being a pale imitation of Dilip Kumar, we cannot expect such deeply resonant and powerful, complex, human characters that Sharat Chandra created, from writers like the CVs of IPK.

They were doing a reasonable job until Feb/March, when suddenly everything went haywire! They began a steady and systematic decimation of Khushi's character. This over emphasis on bro sis bond is killing ASR. I think their fear is if ASR aplogises to Khushi, the sis doesn't have any leverage to exert her influence and that is the reason they are dragging this forever.

Devdas courted and embraced destruction with both hands for his momentary weakness and failure in standing up for Paro. It is not necessary for ASR to go down that route. It is not necessary for ASR to destroy himself and Khushi for the sake of the blasted sister!

They used and abused SI for months until their show became a success and now DB is trying to piggy back and they are attempting to palm her off on us.

true creating a character like devdas takes powerful writing and the CVs lack it...they bend as per their interpretation of trps

I repeat it perspective. You see it your way. I see it mine.

When he said "tumhare koi galati nehi thi" , I actually wanted to laugh! How does that sentence even make sense?! Of course, it wasn't her fault that he MU her and forcefully married her with so much hate for his beloved di. How exactly is it her fault?

Rima I think it's "How Redemption?" rather than " Redemption or not?".

Here perspectives differ. I guess it depends on what perspective the CVs have.

actually those who r waiting 4 redemption wont say all these..others r MUed meaning of redemption as u said..the thing is tat they cant see ASR in tears...even though it is heart breaking 4 me too...i think which i cant understand is tat these people do not have problem 4 khushi's tear...r they happy with her pAin??? if no then surely they'll say redemption is needed...i am mad of BS/ASR...but at the same time i wont forget 2 see them in the story level...
those r forgetting all the past episodes & the story of it & those who r simply want ASR 2 b smile wont want redemption...but bot me...i think not u too..

yes we can't forget the past
you see the future is built on the past
if past has holes they need to be mended and not left open
i too wonder why khushi's pain is unseen by many...because she smiles?

I can't make you see it my way. I've failed as a debater. That's alright.

He still has more to do but all i'm saying is that this is a start. This is redemption for me. We have a long way to go yet. I don't disagree.

But before the redemption, if the cvs decided to surprisingly show one, there should be an apology!
And his fault is not a small one, the list is pretty big!
He insulted her, insulted her dead parents- and that really hurts! :/

And before people begin to argue upon asr being unqiue and complex for all this:
Remember, he did apologize to her once!
That was ASR saying a 'sorry'
But he isn't asr to her now, he's arnav, which gives him all the more reason to say a 'simple sorry'.

And yes, remorse and redemption are not the same thing.
Whenever i do see a very rare scene of Arnav repenting, even the slightest, i do feel happy!

But that isn't enough, is it?
Or am i being a bit too hopeful?

correct being arnav there are more reasons for him to tell sorry
you made a good point. remorse and redemption are not the same
one is the feeling and the other is just acts of being sorry
without the feeling the acts don't work
it is not enough at all to see the rare scenes because we have seen way too many full of her grief
