If there is one word which is used and abused in the forum it is 'redemption'

Whenever people say they want redemption from ASR there is always one more set of camp who says 'We don't want ASR to cry'

'We don't want ASR to be Devdas'

'We don't want ASR to say sorry. He has already done enough'

'Why is redemption needed? Hasn't ASR suffered enough?'

'Khushi has also made mistakes'

'khushi herself doesn't want it'

Well, well, well...

First about ASR crying

ASr cried for his di,

ASR cried after terrace scene,

ASR cried for his mom,

He almost cried for Khushi when he thought she is dead...

So he is capable of crying and we are capable of accepting him crying.

So will it hurt to see two drops of tears (Ok even one or may be a droplet😊) having Flashbacks of how he called Khushi characterless and threw her stars and how he threw her to the pool side etc? Come on ek droplet to banta hai boss so what if he has made her smile recently. He has made her cry so many times.

About ASR turning into Devdas

When ASR ran after the ambulance and kept hurting over the terrace scene he was Devdas and we did accept it. Now do we want ASR to have a drink in his hand and seek a Chandramukhi to relieve his pain? 😃 Defenitely no

All we want is for him to realize that one innocent life and the dreams got lost because of him...something he seems to realize a little already. But if he gives her the dream marriage then he will return her dreams and dignity. Why her dreams, they are his dreams too. What is wrong in restoring dreams? Or for that matter what is wrong in realizing mistakes? That is the first thing towards maturity...when you realize you are wrong. I would say ASR is becoming more mature by admitting his mistakes and not becoming a Devdas

Redemption not needed because he has suffered

Of course he suffered. He has loved the girl and almost agonized over the fact that she is his Di ki saut and she loved another man.

He saved her from goons and now he is protecting her and giving her love in his own way.

People say ASR speaks through his actions

But, but, but...when he told her she is characterless, or threw her out to the pool side or said he wished he had never met her or faught with her after Heer Rabjha...he was inflicting his pain on her.

So you see he took out his pain on her, whereas Khushi has not been able to and that is why Khushi's pain needs an outlet through more nice gestures and some equally nice words from him.

Come on. It is the same person right? If he can say bitter things will saying nice things change his character? No

Khushi has made mistakes too

Sure she has. She hid Shyam's truth...but for his sister and she suffered both from Shyam and ASR

Khushi gave him public bath, deprived him of food and played so many pranks on ASR...sure she did...but anyone in her place could have actually done worse. But she did not.

Do you know when you shoot in self defence it deserves lesser punishment in legal courts? Like that Khushi was lashing out after being hurt, but she never inflicted the first wound

Khushi herslef doesn't want it

Sure she doesn't. She has a large heart. She has forgiven and forgotten.

She loves him. She will forgive him a 100001 wounds. And that is the way it should be. Holding grudges is not love

But, but ,but ...we are the viewers. Imagine a child being beaten by his parents regularly. The parents forget. The child also forgets after they give him some lollipops. But if you watched the scene you will feel bad for the child. You would want the child to be loved more, pampered more, understood more...

That is what is happening to viewers. Anyone wanting redemption is not an ASR hater, but simply a human being wanting to see some joy and justice done to a suffering human being

So those who say they are ASR lovers in wanting no redemption are totally wrong.

I find myself a bigger ASR lover in wanting to correct himself, evolve, mature and become the superb person that we can all adore. That will not ruin his character at all. He can still fight with Khushi over other things or be strong with others like Mami. Don't tell me he can be ASR only if he is mean to Khushi.

Tell me who loves him more? People who want him to be loved by becoming better or people who want him to be just as he is and keep on making mistakes for which he will be bashed?

So the whole logic of who loves ASR more is debatable...one love is like a mother's love that corrects the child and the other is like a spoiling mother who does not correct the child

PS: ASR is the best fictional character I have seen on TV. He is like Heathcliff of Wuthering Heights. But Heathcliff never corrected himself and became a villian. But ASR is capable of great love and compassion and he is capable of evolution

Thank you for taking the time to clarify some things rima, excellent post as always. I will address the last part: "Khushi herself doesn't want it."

I think its such a ridiculous excuse to say there should be no redemption because Khushi herself doesn't want it. What does that mean? Khushi is...I don't know what she is anymore because I've never met such a selfless and confused soul in my life. It doesn't matter what she wants, she is a fictional character who the CVs will conveniently change daily depending on whatever direction they want to take the story in. They don't care if they strip away the essence of her character. So forget about them. Its about what we, as the audience with functional brains...who have stuck with the show through its highs and lows in hopes of seeing a redemption track where Khushi as a character gets her due justice for all the ways she has been wronged since day one...its about what we want to see.

Also...if you want to use that excuse, why not use it when it favors Khushi as well? Khushi should be proud of her silly antics during the 100 ways to irritate ASR track because whatever she did to him back then, he never held a grudge against her. In fact, he loved her for it. He thought back to those memories of her acting silly fondly. He likes it when she fights with him and challenges him. Yet people used to bash her left and right back then, as if she had committed a crime. If ASR himself didn't have a problem with Khushi's antics, why did you have a problem with it? I guess you use this excuse only when convenient.

if ASR never had problems still people were up in arms against the public bath or the desi girl dance and all

but asr did not mind

so the reverse logic when we apply it seems to hurt people. strange

as you said we are people with functional brains. how can we not feel bad for her though CVs have decided to give Khushi's memory some months off?

AND ON 12TH JULY

People wanted redemption for 12th july- ignored

wanted redemption for entire hate marriage- Ignored

wanted redemption for , past 2011 harsh experiences- Ignored

ASR fans how can i forget these 5 instances among plenty of them.

1. She was dropped from 1st floor of office

2. How once he thought khushi broke his laptop and afterwards near ANjali he called her SERVANT.

3. She was kept in parking lot in heavy rain...even though he saved her, but he spoiled his good act by a harsh dialogue, and asked her to leave when she came to his house to submit files. (i can never do with any guest in my house, even if its a servant )

4. After knowing that Khushi is crying badly from inside her heart due to engagement news still after dropping her in diwali night, again before leaving he says dont dream of luring a rich tycoon in ur magic spell with the help of ur anklets.

5.When after humiliating her in lehenga showroom, still he burts out at lavanya saying that why she was being a lower class like Khushi.

OK forgot all these with lot of pain

But

Hate marriage-(some selected instances)

1.Putting her down from his lap harshly in Griha pravesh scene

2. Throwing her out In cold in pool side.

3. Hurting khushi by doing fake drama of happy couple.

4. Telling Khushi that he wants to see her getting pain and then unknowingly hurting her hands while closing the door of Pool side. ( cant forget thus scene)

5. Harassing her after Heer-Ranjha act instead of appreciating of her generoisity.

6. Hurting Khushi that he is pissed off leaving in this Horrible gupta house.

7. Listening emotional convo between Khushi and amma and khushi prasing arnav.( asr heart shud burst out remembering that)

8. The emotional suicide note where she leaves her priced posession the fancy stars for arnav and wanting to sideway from asr-la relationship.

9. How arnav harshly throws away the stars mercilessly( this scene should make arnav cry if he remembered)

10. The entire characterless dialogue, questioning her Upbringing and even upto questioning the genes she has of her parents . ( the most important for me for ASr to repent)

11. Khushi removing her belongings from room and sttaing to arnav that she understands how hurtful its for arnav to see her posessions.

12. The helpless scene of Khushi in airport begging for claiming her innocence.( i cant forget that scene at all)

After Mu cleared again he hurt on

12 TH JULY

How can one forget.

Ok are we not rational beings????

After listing all events do u have anythung else to say why redemption is needed????

Wel Arnav realized that he did a mistake by forcing Khushi to marry him.But when Khushi comes to him all tensed about the fact that they did not take pheras.What did he do?Instead of taking immediate initiatives to make this marriage valid for eternity he is teasing her about Suhaag Raat.
Well this is ASR's style of redemption.Teasing Khushi,giving her gifts,hugging her,kissing her.But still no word of assurance that he will support her no matter what.

not just the outburst

i remember everything clearly.

not that i have elephant's memory

just because i hope and hope someday the CVs would remember all this

I am not going to give those lamba chaura bhasan justifying or not justifying the track.just want to ask a simple question if a guy constantly throw sheet on you for example dragging you to a mandir and apply sindur without your permission or throw you to outside of his room to sleep on cold or called you CHARACTERLESS (thats a very strong word mind it) and said that what will your dead parents will think about him.for that particular guy your family abandoned you you have to make a goat your friend.and after you almost died rescuing that particular as***ole (pardon my language) one day he wished that may you never came in his life.and hang on a sec when you chose to stay away from his life he blackmailed you to come to his house.and the most interresting fact is that he still didnt understand whats the impact of his words or his action in your life what will you want.dont you want that he say sorry for once.what will you want that guy to do.do you still idolise him if any one i repeate any one of the facts i mentioned happened to you.think about it guys

A fantastic post rima DI loved it so much you have put forward everything but it is sad that still people will be blind to read your thoughts and understand it. Well well well i am fed up asking for redemption again and again and now i have reduced my demands😆now man ASR atleast a verbal sorry please and that too not for some silly reasons😡. I want him to ask sorry with tears in his eyes for calling her a home wrecker mainly and then for forcing her to marry him and many more. I don't care whether he is ASR or Arnav😊.

And last but not the least if u peoples can't bear ASR in pain , i could not bear Khushi pain Damn it😡, she has suffered like hell, no one had pain like her and hence i will put out my frustrations. I will be demanding for justice because i saw Khushi in damn pain for no mistakes on her side. Sorry if my words are rude

And Arnav now is caring for his wife and respecting her i am liking him now but whatever may be i want him to ask sorry to her and re-marry her as soon as possible instead of joking around. 😊

for that my dear friend others will tell you 'ASR is not good with words. He proves through actions'...but here action also is missing so far.

If Dadi goads him and then he remarries it is not the same as he doing it himself

Rima im really glad u opened this thread with the popular misunderstood subject doing the rounds.

I have just one question to those who dont want redemption do you plan to stop watching the show when the CV's decide to show redemption.

The redemption will be "unique" & it will start so will you quit or u will still watch.

About Khushi not wanting it, i think its the other way around the CV's dont want to show Khushi wanting even if Khushi would have loved it, her expression when ASR supports clearly shows that she didnt expect ASR to defend her so if the most debated topic redemption starts i think Khushi will the most happiest character on the show if the CV's allow that

They have twisted the track for their convenience !!

I love ASR very much, i loved the way he is very slowly & gradually changing & letting Khushi enter his heart but its not enough infront of characters like Mami, Shyam & Dadi in the show.
