I don't think Barun can be / or should be compared to Aamir or SRK simply for amount of work they've done and the years of experience they've had.

But when Barun is compared to his Bollywood contemporaries, I do feel he's better than many. Most of the actors that have joined Bollywood in the last 4-5 years are either starkids or models...are they really all that good in terms acting?

Would some of them have made it big if they didn't have a particular surname?

Does being a BW actor automatically make one talented?

How many actors ( from a non-film background) have made a debut in BW in the last 5 years by passing an audition?

totally agree wid u!!
its unfair to compare barun to other senior BW actors...but in a way its good dat people consider him worthy to be compared to legends😃
@green- oh yeah..some people are surviving in BW jus coz of the big surnames😕

I understand your point, and I feel that he does have a long way to go to become an amazing actor. He only started out in the business a few years ago, though, and I don't think he had any training prior to this. If you consider all of that, he is a really good actor. I watches a few other Hindi serials because I felt all leads would act as well as Barun. I was wrong. They were awful, and I concluded that Barun is definitely the best as far as TV serials are concerned. He has a long way to become the best in Bollywood. Although, I must say that nowadays the new talent in Bollywood is so poor... Barun is definitely better than them. But he can't be compared to veteran actors as he's just not as experienced or established yet.

But anyway, we all still love him cos he's the complete package 😉 (well, minus the dancing 😆)
Good post!

Agree that the shaven and cleaned up face are a must.

But I am against the hair cut. The long gelled up hair of ASR gives a m'man of the house' look to ASR. I loved them during havan scenes. It highlights the age difference of khushi and Arnav and I feel it matches with the characterization.

Ya I can see curses and tomatoes coming from either side of the forum😉. Still i stick my point, no hair cut please. Just trim it sobti jaan.

sree🤗
tomatoes are costly so no tamatars 4 u:)
i thought i was the only one who liked him in his long tresses... but a trim is a must! those bangs are a distraction!

So I'm a little surprised when people say Barun is the best actor in Tellywood and Bollywood. Comeon people we all love Barun, but if you dont appraise his skills fairly you are not being fair on him and his potential. If fans dont push the actors they support, who will inspire these actors to perform better?

Are you seriously saying that Barun is better than Aamir in Lagaan when he encourages each of the villagers to become a part of the team. gives them hope and encouragement? Or is he better than SRK (I'm not a big fan of his, but still) in Chak De, when at the end he walks with his mother back in the street of his old home, with his head held high. Or is is he better than the great Amitabh Bachchan in Black when he pushes the little girl to get over her anger and get her to open up to him?

Barun has potential and can do well, but its also true he has a long way to go. None of these actors were fantastic from Day 1. So lets admit that with time, and effort Barun will get better. But labelling him as the best actor ever is unfair to him. If fans dont push an actor, where is the scope or inspiration for development?

NB,
Spot on!
Fans can make or break an actor
Lets face it the peasants revolted and brought about the French Revolution alongside it the guillotine of the Royals.
Appreciation and appraisal can only aid in the enhancement of an actor on the early rungs of his acting career
Long way to go before comparison and accolades comparative to some impressive BW actors are bestowed on a soap opera actor
There is potential without a doubt
Its all in the lap of the Gods, luck, talent and opportunities that will manifest one way or another

Warnings- Stong critisism ahead.

I have noticed that Barun is treated is nothing short of a God/Supernatural on this forum. I admit I've speant an unhealthy amount of time drooling over this guy and his killer looks.

But then I saw a post(s) where people of this forum said that Barun was better than the likes of established Bollywood actors. Actors who have been the industry for 2 decades. Now I mean this in the least offensive way - haaahhhaaa lol. Sorry but that was true and instant response.

Barun's dialogue delivery is passable on his best day and his expressions are almost stone like in some scenes. As a student of the theater arts I cringe when he speaks sometimes.

Ofcourse BS has his better days as well. In scenes like when he tells Khushi doesn't have a character , the hate is actually palpable. Even the I hate you scene was good. BS seems to do hate/anger really well. The other things he does really well is flirting. His eyes seem to flirt and it gets us all high and giggling.

But other emotions- not so great.

Which got me thinking, is that why so many of us complain that when Arnav becomes lovey-dovey he is OTT? Is that why Arnav in love is cringe worthy? In that hug scene during kidnap-hug I was closing my eyes.

No one can do ASR better than BS. But that doesn't mean BS is the greatest actor out there as many make him out to be. Or perhaps he is to some of you here.

So do share your views and let's debate. All views are welcome fangirl/haters/critisism.

wow your love for barun is interesting to say the least.(refering to the begining of your statement about how you love barun, very cute)

now i haven't actually gone through all the pages and i'm sure there were many who disagreed with you in the most nicest and logical way possible and others well not so much.

i'm coming from a unbiased point of view well sort of when i comment.

people on this forum treating barun as the best in the whole wide world like you said is blatently obvious. which isn't a bad thing at all, its fun and people love him that much. and why not. but i do watch a whole lot of stuff and as much as i love barun and ASR there are actors who surpass him. but that the thing is love is blinding. that's not to say barun isn't a good actor, he is and since he gets compared to SRK a lot, i might as well say this, i love SRK but there are times where his acting is cringe worthy or just slightly off for some reason and that is sometimes the case with BS. so my point is i defintily agree with you when you say there are moments where his acting is off and his emotions passable. i also agree with the kidnapping hug part as well, just did not do it for me. i may not be a art or theatre major but i i'm the type of person that can admitt that even my fave actor/actresses have their bad days, i'm biased but not to the point where everything he/she does is perfect and the best. and i can tell without any credentials that i didn't like the way they acted there or they were just terrible. case in point that is how i feel at times about barun and sanaya, well pretty much any actor big or small, fan or no fan.

as for the other emotions of barun portraying, he can do it quite well especially the angry young man and the cocky bad boy Casanova. but when it comes to scenes where is just nice and lovey dovey it can be a bit off here and there. but maybe its because i'm so used to seeing him in his angry avatar. maybe that's the case for you and everyone as well. idk. but i think that has a factoring influence. becoming so used to something that a change can be quite unusual or unlikable in a sense. maybe that's why everyone throws a hissy fit when ASR does become a sweetheart. or it could be the bad boy complex. girls love bad boys but when they start becoming nicer, girls begin to lose interest or appeal to them they once had and the reason why they started loving them. its not the fictional guy they fell in love with, to put in a better way.

of course he will be the best actor in the world for many because biases are biases and love is love and preferences are just that. just like how my top actors are tom hiddleston, robert downey jr, Matt smith, Benedict cumberbactch.

well i seemed to ramble on about things but i really liked you unbiased post. you should do this more often for other things concerning IPKKND. this is far more entertaining then either just full blown bashing posts or love posts. its refreshing to have a debate.

The bottom line is that brilliant actors need an excellent script and exemplary direction to stand out!

An outstanding script and first rate direction needs a skillful actor to deliver a superlative performance!

Barun is skillful, his strength is his ability to convey emotion without opening his mouth, which is perfectly suited or was perfectly suited to the character of ASR we have known in the past. This new avatar, I am not sure about, either he has to adapt his acting or the script needs to focus on his attributes, and by attributes I don't mean take the man's clothes off! That might get the TRP up for an episode or a week, then what?

Siggie reactions mostly depends on the definition of 'angels and demons' and which side you stand😉. So I am not amused at the reaction. Poor black kettle and pot, they are friends. Don't MU them pleez. Being an IPK fan you are not entitled for any more MUs.

Of course, if there's one thing we have learnt from IPK, it's the Law of Stubbornness.

If it's about 'Angels and Demons', i stand by Dan Brown, to hell with Black Pots and Kettles.

Can i also say as much as I like Sobti, in my opinion the best actor in television at the moment is Ram Kapoor. I have watched him in a few episodes in that show in Sony and loved him to bits. But its another thing that I refused to watch the show because of the vampish like characters.
