"Long since, the desert wind wiped away our footprints in the sand. But at every second of my existence, I remember what happened, and you still walk in my dreams and in my reality. Thank you for having crossed my path."

Pause 'n Affect...a Prelude to a new beginning...I just love that first Gibran quote to pieces. So poignantly used in the Crooner! What a well thought out and BRILLIANT piece, hun! Take a bow, sweets! 👏Finally, a smile that reached those eyes after days of anguish...Yes, brief, but you could see the thanks there. I couldn't help but reflect back to the poolside, too: The almost kiss at Diwali, the kiss after the sangeet, her illusion when he was kidnapped...of coming together and being one. Today, a first step in that direction. In her home. Significant in so many ways to what is to come. A courtship within this relationship which for her is still undefined. Unresolved. But finally, some clarity. Heart and soul on the line. He makes it so apparent. How can she not be affected?😊 That moment aside, it was an absolutely DIVINE episode for me.
I have to take a minute here to give thanks to this PH and the writers. Tying up loose ends so beautifully, making the "connects" on virtually every front. Keeping the characters consistent IN SPITE and PERHAPS BECAUSE OF the Tooheys who stand to question their every move. Today, Arnav wooed with ASR's trademark smirk and wit. No, we did not get some lovesick puppy who many here in this forum were quick to name him. No, we do not have a man who has suddenly changed overnight into a doting husband. It has been a journey for him, as it has been for us! He is who he is. Always has been. Always will be. Ultimately human and defined by only his ability to adapt and completely accept his own reality: allowing what was once "barren" in that heart (Priya's word here👍🏼) to finally flourish!
Khushi's "antics" have also been questioned over & over & over again! But do we suddenly expect our lead to change and don a new personality? Do we suddenly want the "sanak factor" to disappear? Really, who is our female lead, ppl? Take her for who she is! A beautiful soul inside and out. She is not perfect. But her intentions have always been just that. Defined by her own experiences and her own independence. Her "self respect"& her "dignity"--bang on, Priya!--are paramount to her!! She may not be justified in your opinion, but in her mind's eye, she needs no justification! Period. Get it, and move on!
"Arnav Singh Raizada toh haath doh ke humari jaan ke peeche padein hain!"

Coming back to the epi, a truly brilliant piece of writing and execution witnessed pretty much across the work. In a lot of ways, I almost found myself to be an audience member of a riveting play. Being a Broadway buff, it was as if I watching a comedy of errors as the unraveling starts even before it is finished. Absolutely loved Khushi in that first scene as she sees him come into Laxmi Nagar...Tom and Jerry at the starting blocks! Her classic line: "Arnav Singh Raizada toh haath doh ke humari jaan ke peeche pade hain"sets the tone for the epi. Hiding behind the steel vessel to duck from him...His line about her "hide 'n seek" already at play. Her cooked conversation about Buaji's illness, doctors, doctor's illnesses, and Arnav's cocked eyebrow as all the doubts finally start to simmer in that shaatir mind. Khushi Singh Raizada alias Jhalli Singh Raizada (thank you, Gandhari!😃) in full sanaka mode as she spins the tale of Buaji--that "Naanhi si jaan's" woes to keep him away!😆 The doctor eats into her tale, knowing well that the pati outside is not very different from what she is describing. Vitamin pills become a prescription...and a chit for romance.
ASR, smelling a big rat, uses the shaarth clause and his "haq" on her as her husband. Yes, two can play this game, and he is in it to win it! Caught in the moment...he draws her to him...hand on her waist...Anticipation, willingness, she almost gives in...only to come back to reality and a realization the game is still on! He does not relent. As she stands still, his arm around her shoulder. That ultimate sign of acceptance; he marks her as his own, yet again! The one reflection on this scene kept bringing me back to her poolside mirage when he was kidnapped. Which is why I chose to use a pic from that epi and a quote to mark where we have come from that point. The irony is not lost on us: here she is being wooed, being cared for, being accepted completely--that dream she dared dream in her anguish is actually coming true before her eyes! But she does not choose to acknowledge it, even though deep down she knows how much he cares and how much that means to her. She has defined her love, but she chooses not to give words or emotions to it. A sad reality. But the dream for her still remains. It was evident in her eyes today!😊 As you said Priya, for that one moment, she basked in that love...blanketed it around her. Made it her own. Let the "sea" "win" over her. Then she moved on from it...But somewhere along, silently giving thanks for that very love.😊
He moves to get to the bottom of her story...Yes, Arnav Singh Raizada will not leave her alone!😆 In perhaps the most amazing rendition of a comic monologue I have seen in years, he comes back to her home to "his" Buaji's place, with no hesitation, no formality as he starts to tell the tale of the aunt and her niece...verbatim...just as the Mrs. did, not too long ago! Facial expressions, words laced in emotions, a quivering voice, he mimics his wife to perfection...his eyebrow, the only dead giveaway to her for the unraveling! For all those people in this very forum who question the GH track and its validity in the storyline, today you got your answer, yet again! Arnav's familiarity and acceptance with the Guptas is so evident now!
That last scene in the Gupta house is perhaps the most revealing and poignant scene in this show in a long time. He is now beyond the "farq padta hai" because he has his answer. It is right in front of him in her eyes. Annapoorna speaks...She is still stuck on kyun of the "farq padta hai": "Hume aapka koi aisaan nahi chahiye"...She can take care of her own...she would have paid the rent! The first sign of her anguish & the disconnect in understanding who and what she is in this relationship--he finally starts to get it..."Aaisaan"...he mutters almost to himself...then the outburst..."Tum meri patni hoh, Khushi!! Buaji aur yeh ghar mere liye bhi kuch maayne rekhta hain"...The damaad who is now the son speaks...he has married her, he has married into her family! Crossing the "I"s and the "T"s on his love for her and her own. I just love your Hesse quote here...his journey to her has been anything but "rectilinear"...and he knows it. Finally, the truth about the why behind her leaving is going to hit him...the disconnect in their lives. Moving forward--because that is what is now paramount to him--he will choose the right path...rectify his wrongs!
Other thoughts:
~Sobti/ASR/Arnav: Please. Stop. Driving. You are the biggest distraction in that driver's seat...The killer smirks, the cocking eyebrows, We got a dose yesterday and yet again today, and I am so dead!
~Hand on the waist: O.M.G. Stop. Breathe. Not working.😆 Resuscitate. I only wish Khushi was in a sari...but I will wait for the "full" picture for that one!😃
~Buaji: Tussi chah gaaye! I can never get over her fantastic chemistry with Sanaka and her babua!
~The black snake in the room: *Shivers*...Anjali's expressions and voice said it all...
~Naani: LOVED her today, the precap...WOW!! Ever the "rook"--protects and reminds...time to get that chessboard dusted!
What amazing performances...Sanaya, take a bow, hun! You are just a gem. Absolutely breathtaking today across the board! Sobti, where to even begin...just get a haircut, yaar...baaki sab need not be touched. Hum manage kar lenge!😆 What will it take for the haircut, yaar...like, seriously?😡 Abha Parmar--loved you in the bedroom scene! Missed your brilliance during the kidnapping, now back in full form!

A prelude to their future...I can't help but think of this classic from John Lennon...One of my favorite love songs--if not my most favorite--ever!
"...And Woman hold me close to your heart
However distant don't keep us apart
After all it is written in the stars..."
