Even Payal has face the trauma of a broken marriage. She has seen her father to suddenly have a heart attack in front of her eyes. Her younger sister's wedding was fixed before her.She has a MIL who always keeps on taunting her.Her husband is treating her like a tissue.
But still she is not weeping like Anjali. She is happy to see her younger sister happy. She did not cry a bucket as her younger sister's husband a birthday party for her.
Anjali on the other hand has the whole family beside her.But still she is jealous of her SIL.Why will I have sympathies on her?

You have captured the essence wonderfully! But may I ask, where and how are they trying to gain sympathy for her?

As far as Anjali's character goes, even God Helps those who help themselves and we are ordinary mortals!

No one can feel sympathy for a whiny, clingy, avoidant, self centred, self obsessed, rich woman willing to kill her baby as you said, because she feels the baby might alienate her from the brother and the rest of the family.

We would feel sympathy if she grew up and became a responsible adult, stood up for herself and her baby, came to terms with the fact that her husband is a liar and a cheat and a criminal, do something meaningful with her life.

Compare this with the girl who was orphaned at 8, adopted by a family, desperately trying to make ends meet, forced to endure the advances of the above woman's husband, forced into a fake marriage by the above woman's brother, illtreated by him and his family, abandoned by her own family, but inspite of that manages to smile through it all and forgive the very people that have ruined her life! How can we not feel sympathy?

First of all its not an Anjali bashing post. Consider it as a note to CVs

I do consider her a unlucky soul who got her glass world shattered in seconds.I agree on the sympathy points - past trauma, cheating husband, pregnancy etc etc

But why I am not feeling the 'required' sympathy for her?

Past trauma - Cvs have well conveyed the past trauma of arnav with enough FBs and scenes. But when it comes to anjali, the past trauma is not established at all. I see a clingy sister who most of the time have a parasite relationship with her brother, who has all the emotional support of a brother and family. ASR deserves more sympathies here than anjali any day for shouldering the responsibility of a entire family at a young age.

Adulterous husband - That's the only sympathy factor which works for me at least on minute levels. But CVs have shown lot of scenarios where she could have caught shyam red handed. But we saw her blindly trusting him and falling for his sweet sugar coated words. Somewhere during that times, I lost trust in her intelligence and I started considering the blind faith as simple dumbness. So it diluted the sympathy factor in a way.

Pregnancy - Ok First of all viewers have to feel that there is something growing inside that vegetable cutting board tummy to feel something for the kid and to be mom. I do not see anything. The pregnancy aspect has not reached the audience (at least me). I remember that she is pregnant when naani or someone else mentions about it. Visual confirmation is very important. There you loose sympathy points. Then again why should I sympathize with a mother who was all ready to abort the child for the love of a man? Rather than helplessness the selfishness and stubbornness are conveyed to many audiences.

Now everyone behind the scenes seem to be on a spree to collect the sympathy points for anjali, trying to explain her view points be it as an IF post or tweet or as a buzz article. Why? I am kanfused here. If in the last one year, IPK as a serial could not establish the so called sympathy factor well for 'Di' then why PH is hell bend on selling the sympathy factor through other channels? Let her be the character she is.

Anjali as a character, I can take her either as a grey or mental unstable character or a sub lead who has an impact on the story. I respect the role and understand the importance but I do not connect with it or sympathize with it the way I do with arhi.

So the selling sympathy factor outside IPK is not working. Establish the sympathy using IPK as a serial. I would respect it more.

Sree (my kiddu gal!!)😉

Your posts always make such fabulous sense!! I cant find fault anywhere in your logic. It might be mean but the only thing i feel for Anjali is annoyance! How long can you live in denial?? It doesnt work like that in real life. If everyone hates your husband then they are probably seeing something you are not. Unless of course you dont have any common sense left to distinguish between right and wrong.

Great post!!

yes, i cannot sympathize with anjali at all...and now she is turning into jealous selfish women...
how can she think it's all khushi's fault and her husband is all dood ka dhoola innocent...?????
...first of all she is dumb, she has been married to a man for years and she doesn't know him at all !!!!!!

if there was no proof for her to believe that her husband is at fault, there is also no proof for her to believe that khushi is at fault...and don't bring mami here...mami has always been against khushi and she knows that...
and I am really not happy with mamiji...as far i understand her character, after hearing all that she shuld have gone to gupta house and talked to them and their neighborhoods about shyam...
mami khushi bond was such a hit...and in a moment broken...she has seen how much khushi was concerned for arnav, how can she forget that???...i cannot digest this fact...😒

it cannot be called even sisterly affections... her brother was kidnapped, had near brush with death ... is she bothered?????...k, if she doesn't believe her husband did it, then why she is not concerned to find who did it????
she doesn't love her brother at all, she only loves herself... her life, her husband was everything for her...she is plain selfish...
now she cannot see anyone happy...poor khushi... and poor us !!! it's becoming difficult to watch...😭

the way things were shown... it's only one thing clear...she is simply jealous of khushi...
..and what made her throw those flowers and crying as if she has seen something devastated..!!!!

i have never hated any TV vamp so much as much I am hating anjali today...😲
I am very sorry to say but she is becoming pathetic...plain selfish women...

Exactly, the balanced and mature way would have been to apologise to Arnav for jumping to conclusions, if she indeed cared for him...

Excellent post👏you hit the nail on the head. A natural progression is so important and also the pregnancy issue - no credibility. All these issues are making it hard to empathise with Anjali's character. Don't get me wrong, I know I should feel bad for her but but it's hard to!

Well written post... agree with you. You have worded what I failed to put a finger on. I knew something was missing... I want to feel sympathy for Anjali... since in my opinion Daljeet is doing a fantastic job portraying her vulnerability and disturned state of mind. But somewhere the show has failed to show us her point of view... so now suddenly out of the blue they are showing her feelings and thoughts... and I am not able to relate to it that well.
