What I LOVED: 11th July 2012

2 minutes of Arnav-Khushi and the rest of the episode, Fandom explores the Anjali-Shyam album.

Performance

Totally ROCKING, Barun and Sanaya

Progress Points

1. Arnav declares he intends to live with Khushi for good

2. Khushi gives a strong speech to Anjali (really good one!)

3. Anjali is disoriented - goes for abortion

Favorite Scene

Arnav: Wow! Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada ko sharmana bhi aata hai? It's high time Khushi ke jab main tumhari taraf aaon, to tum peeche jana band karo. In fact, tumhe mere saath aage badhna seekhna hoga.

Arnav Singh Raizada & His Missus

The man who didn't believe in marriage talks of looking forward to spending his life with his temporary wife.

The Long Walk Home

From:

"You deserve everything that has happened to you. Going forward, it'll be worse for you."

To:

"You need to stop stepping back when I walk towards you. You must learn to walk with me. I just want to see you smile."

That was a very long walk, ASR. (And, it is still not over.)

From wanting to see her in pain, wanting to give her more pain, making himself believe that she deserved every bit of the torture that she was going through, Arnav Singh Raizada has indeed come a long way.

From convincing himself that her pain did not impact him - even if it brought him pain, Arnav Singh Raizada has indeed come a long way.

From pushing her away, refusing to face his feelings and accept his heart, from refusing to believe in love - Arnav Singh Raizada has indeed come a long way.

He faces his feelings, he listens to his heart, he knows she is in pain and he accepts that he can't bear it, he wants to make her comfortable, he wants her to know he's really there for her and she can trust him.

From wanting to bring more deserved pain into her life, to keeping the pain for himself and letting her smile; from telling her she has worse coming, to giving her a hope for future - ASR has indeed come a long way.

From threatening her with a marriage of 6 months after which he'd dump her, to giving her a view of a life together - ASR has indeed come a long way.

In other words - I know the present looks a lot muddy. But I want you to look forward to a life with me where we walk together. You can leave the current pain to me, I want to see you smile, and have hope that we will live together for good.

Contract? What Contract!?

Yeah, so it seems. Arnav and Khushi have been prone to occasional amnesia where they relocated important files from their memory to recycle bin - which of course were retrievable when the conditions for retrieval were favorable.

Post Diwali, everything pre-Diwali was sent to recycle bin. It was retrieved for a short bit till the Payash wedding day. Then, following their own wedding, the whole pre-wedding package was sent to recycle bin. A new contract had come in. Now, that the conditions are again favorable for Pre-Diwali and Pre-wedding packages, the Post-Diwali and Post-wedding packages have been - it seems - permanently purged; Which would also mean that the contract is in the recycle bin - from where unfortunately or fortunately, it is in fact retrievable, when the conditions are favorable.

I wonder if the Greek, Latin, and Hebrew script up there made sense to anyone who dares to read it.

Blame it on Nostradamus who introduced me to the idea of using multiple languages to encrypt mysterious messages pertaining to future events.

Oh well, let us get back to IPKKND, which by the way also invests heavily in symbolism.

Oh well, let us get back to IPKKND, in any case.

[I had written this segment before I saw the new Promo and wow! Arnav-Khushi answered my query and retrieved the contract from the recycle bin - or rather, they'll do that on Saturday.]

Romance Shomance - part 1

In the episode on 10th July, Arnav and Khushi attempted to side-step each other but kept bumping in to each other - till of course, Arnav caught the moment and decided to let Khushi have some respite from the onslaught she's faced in the past 2 long weeks.

Initially an accident, he used the moment to get in her way on purpose till she realized what he was doing. In last night's episode, he raised his eyebrows a bit when she blushed, as though he realized something. (I didn't comment on the scene because it was cut-off mid-way and I usually avoid commenting on a scene/sequence before it plays out completely.)

The moment she blushed, his comment came along - "Wow! So, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada knows how to blush."

Yeah! That was new one. Usually, she'd have given him a piece of her mind if he tried anything like that, and an additional one for him to munch on till they met again.

He was playing a game, yes, but only to make her smile. Nah! It wasn't fake. It was as true as the time he lied to her about his health being okay, when he had in fact fainted.

Okay, now that you hear what the LOVED part was, the rest of my view of it in On the Side segment!

Anjali & the Raizadas

It seems Anjali has actually forgotten about her baby. She kept Shyam above everything else it seems.

Anjali and Arnav never mention their father. The man probably did not set a very good example for his children, and perhaps they were raised by their mother mostly. Even in their childhood memories, their father is not heard of a lot. If he was around, then at least he isn't a lot respected. Who know, he probably is one of the reasons why Anjali is

Is Anjali afraid that her child will also be brought up without a father or without a father who is respected? Is she afraid of bring up a child on her own?

She seems unable to get the picture of Arnav slapping Shyam and throwing him out of the RM out of her mind. Her decisions are not based out of any rational thought. She is doing whatever she is doing by the one factor that is the basis of most of her decisions, choices and beliefs - fear.

Anjali is afraid. She is scared. She is insecure. It seems she looked upon Arnav only as her younger brother, not as someone who held her secure. That place was reserved for Shyam. This is strange because if Anjali was secure in her life it was because of Arnav, not Shyam. Anjali never saw this.

For her, the person who made her secure about herself was Shyam and he is gone now. With Shyam around, she knew she was loved and cherished and wanted as a wife. Now, facing a fact which says that her husband never loved her or wanted her as a wife, but another woman, is hard for her. She refuses to see it.

Khushi is a very different person. She has not been dependant on another for being secure about herself. For this reason, there aren't many things that can get Khushi down. Khushi knows who she is and she is not ashamed of it - thus, she is not afraid. The words that Khushi spoke to Anjali are actually what Anjali needs right now. She needs strength.

Nani, Arnav and the rest are complying with Anjali's wishes. It seems they are doing the right thing. However, letting her do what she is – is that really helping her at all? She is pushing herself deeper into depression and mindlessness, abandoning any reason, giving herself to all despair.

When Khushi faced the biggest challenge - when Arnav married her - she stood up strong and declared that she was not going to give up.

When Anjali is facing her biggest challenge, she has fallen and everyone is letting her fall.

Khushi was all alone with little to no protection over her. In fact, Shyam was a constant threat and Arnav, the one person who could help her, did not trust her.

Anjali has a load of people around her and loads of protection. There is no hazard to her life or honor, except herself.

Is the family doing the right thing by letting her shield herself from truth? Are they doing the best thing by keeping Khushi away from Anjali?

Methinks, Khushi is one person who can effectively help Anjali come out of this and be a strong woman - strong enough to raise her child on her own.

The Wash Down & the Dirt

I remembered the sequence tonight when Arnav was at GH and Shyam was attempting to get a duplicate key made.

Anjali called Shyam and he refused to answer. He was so focused on getting the key, that he ignored Anjali.

He called her by her name, which is something he rarely did.

When Anjali saw that Shyam did not hear her, she sprayed him with the water hose, until he was drenched.

Shyam hid the soap (with the key imprint) and approached Anjali with mud on his hands.

He attempted to stain her face with the mud, but at the last moment he took the water hose from her hand and drenched her.

Hmm... Let's think!!

Some Weird Ones...

1. Before Shyam was thrown out, Anjali wore her sari with the pallu flowing over her arm. Khushi had her dupatta around her neck, her arms bare (nearly).

Now, Anjali has pinned up her sari pallu, and keeps her arms bare. Khushi is wearing her dupatta flowing over her arm.

2. Last time Anjali ran off, Nani sent Khushi with Arnav when he was going to look for her – even though neither Arnav wanted to take her, not Khushi wanted to go.

This time, Nani stopped Khushi from going with Arnav to look for Anjali - even though Khushi wanted go with Arnav, and he might not have refused.

The Dove has effectively come between Arnav and Khushi. Nani is effectively keeping Khushi from Arnav, though unknowingly.

3. It seems the whole Raizada clan is gearing up for big time guilt trip regarding the Gupta sisters.

New Promo

Khushi: Ye shaadi shaadi kahan hai. Kucch dino ka contract hai. Kucch hi dino main na aap hamare pati rahenge aur na hum apki patni. *she is angry and she runs from him* [This marriage is not a marriage, just a contract for a few days. In a few days, you will not be my husband, nor will I be your wife.]

Arnav: *he pulls her back* Khushi Kumari Gupta, main tumhe hamesha ke liye Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada bane ke rahunga [Khushi Kumari Gupta, I will make you Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada forever.]

*Tu hi bata plays in the bg*

Arnav ain't ready to let his birdie fly!

Last time that song played in the promo, it was the hut sequence. Arnav was forced to hurt Khushi and get himself away from her, to protect her. Later, he sought forgiveness, saying that he'd never be able to forgive himself for hurting her.

So, is that good or is that bad!?

One question? When did 6 months get over? Wasn't it 3 months at GH house? Arnav-Khushi stayed there for about 8-10 days. Then, they got back to RM for a couple of days before Arnav got kidnapped for another 15 days. At the max, this should be about 4 months.

What's with the 6 month contract getting over in few days?

Sheesh! I thought I was bad at Math. Glad to know someone's a better at being bad at math than I am!

On the Side

Romance Shomance - Part 2

I smile.

You blush.

I comment on your red cheeks.

You blush some more.

Winds blows your hair.

Wind blows even my gelled hair.

I step forward.

You step back.

I shock you with my expectations from you as a wife and plans for our future life together.

You get shocked.

I smile.

You try to leave.

I step in again.

You again surprised.

I let you go.

You go.

I look at you go.

You turned around to see me.

We hold the look.

You go.

I go - Yeah, baby! Mission Accomplished!!

Here is what really methinks,

Dude, Romance stinks!!

*ducks to hide from the Fandom's attack!*
