This is the second version to my OS 'You Need To Know'. This version ends on a highly different and interesting note compared to the first version. A heart-felt Thank You to my friend Jems (Jhalak) who provided me the outline for this unique ending. OS: YOU NEED TO KNOW... (II)
She took three steps toward the Castle door, stopped... turned around... went three steps back, paused... turned around, and waited. She took in a deep, calm breath and then, took three firm steps toward the Castle door and opened it.
The room was filled with soft lights, red flowers adorning little tables set at intervals, a lingering smell of freshly watered leaves wafted through the air, and twinkling golden stars decorated the ceiling.
She walked in, slowly, hesitatingly, as her stunned self acquainted itself with the soothing atmosphere. She heard the sweet tinkling of wind-chimes, gyrating to the gentle wind blowing through the open windows, and it awakened her from the magical stupor.
The lights and shadows played on her eyes, and her wandering eyes settled on a figure standing in a dark corner of the room. All she could see were the eyes. Strong, powerful eyes, that filtered through hers and reached down to the depths of her soul. Those eyes that conveyed the conversation of love to her, of longing, of understanding and care.
She stood there, rooted to the spot. The figure slowly detached itself from the darkness and walked toward her - toward the light.
Slow steps, each of them measured, teasing, taunting, confident steps that led right up to her.
He stopped, three feet in front of her, and waited, knowing and testing her.
She couldn't resist and hide it anymore. She quickly closed the distance between them with a run. Her arms went around his neck as she pressed her body onto him even as he entwined his arms around her in a loving embrace.
They remained like that for some minutes. Exchanging themselves, breathing in their love, sharing the flaming passion of their hearts. One in spirit and soul.
Slowly, their eyes sought each other, and they loosened their hold on one another. A soft smile flitted around her features on seeing his eyes soaking her in.
"Khushi," he said, breaking her reverie, "I can't wait any longer!"
A small shallow smile etched the corners of her mouth as she said, "No more waiting for us. We're almost there."
She ran a finger from his temple to his chin teasingly, knowing that this wasn't enough for him. Sure enough, he brushed her finger away lightly and asked, "When?"
"Soon", she replied softly, "When my name receives the signature of trust, and the value is attached to my name in writing."
Her words were mixed with gleeful laughter causing him to smother her in a powerful hug. She responded by lifting her feet off the ground, content to be held in his secure arms.
He nuzzled against her neck, breathing in the pleasant scent of her hair and whispered huskily, "This is why I love you so much Khushi!"
The golden stars reflected in her eyes as she whispered back...
