With just a drop of blood, swabbed onto a specific testing sheet (if your not in a proper lab) you can determine the blood type. There are testing cards available that if you place a drop of blood on the card and mix with a toothpick, you can determine the blood group. These cards are compartmentalized with fields of antibodies. And because blood has antigens (thats what gives the characteristic of A, B, and the lack of it O), when mixed with the antibodies on the card, and depending on your blood group, the blood will clump. I won't go into the logistics because then I will end up providing you all a long and probably boring lecture on science. :)

If anyone wants me to send links about how its done and the logistics behind it, let me know!

**I haven't watched the episode yet, so I am not sure what Khushi has done with the blood. However, from what I read about swabbing the blood should actually be fine. :)

Wow .. awesome .. thanx for throwing light on this ...

And then we moved to DB leaving the show.. So the dynamics of running a show and about actors and their demands etc was discussed
Again today abt blood grp.. We have Kopal and Appu our resident Drs.. So they shed awesome lights on this!! It was an eye opening discussion 😃
So I will tell you we will be master of all trades by the time IPK ends!!!

DB leaving the show was continued till yesterday... I know we were discussing that on Sunday !!! I'm still reading Dood's analysis of yesterday... just read her "chat" with Gul... 😊 Completely agree with her !!! If the creator of the show gives into the whims and fancies of all actors, then she has a big problem at hand ! Can't blame Daljeet, if she has decided to leave... she was supposed to be one of the leads... but all she gets to do is Pooja or giggling !!!

Tell you what... I stay away from doctors and anything related to science 😉 but even as a layman I thought she'd go in for a DNA rather than blood group test ! All she needed was his hair or tooth brush along with the swab
.

thanks...what you said is true...but thats a drop of blood on a the card...if the blood is already on swap...absorbed in it its hard to squeeze a drop out of it specially if it is atleast 2 hrs old 😃

Sorry for jumping in but DNA tests take a long while, don't they?

Hey Nina... yeah I guess they take at least a week for the results to show ! However blood group test can come out in a few hours !

But then, I'm no medico, never even studied science properly in school... so I'm not sure !

I agree with you, wet blood is more valuable than dry blood when it comes to blood type determination. Even though it is harder, its not impossible. But I will say that DNA testing becomes more sensible at that point and the way to go at that point. And for the blood type, it requires proper lab equipment and chemicals and they should be able to determine it. And also, I have no idea what she swabbed it on, so I won't say anything about that :D

She swabbed the blood from Shyam's shoes on to a cotton ear-bud which she gave for lab testing.
