Ya, usually wills are kept in custody of the lawyer and it comes to light only once the news of the testator's death is confirmed. If ASR has left everything to nanhi khushi, making Akash the holder of the prior interest, he wouldnt know that until ASR dies.

What I feel is Mr Roy's asst probably returned the old will for ASR to destroy but ASR needed some documents for leisure reading so he kept it in the locker. 🤣
