You ready for this? its kinda emotional! 😆
Over
It was over.
Six months.
Over.
Gone.
Finished.
Done.
Over.
Arnav looked at the girl who he assumed to be a home-wrecker, looked at the girl who was strong with her eyes steely glazed, her hair up in a sophisticated ponytail, her eyes void of the jhumke, this wasn't his Khushi. This was a foreigner, a alien, a stranger.
She begun to step out of the room, the Raizada mansion empty without the clinking of her anklets, she looked from one face to the other. The all looked sorry, sympathetic, solemn, but there was a resolve in Khushi that told her not to melt, not today.
She went to the kitchen and took out the knife, she saw her husband descend down the stairs, she saw everyone's faces and she uttered a few words indicating the end
"Remember Arnav-ji the day I tried to commit suicide?" Her voice hoarse and heavy with emotion.
How could Arnav forget, that was the time where he felt like his life was slowly leaving his body, he felt as though his heart stopped beating, he felt as though the air within his lungs was sucked out of him. But that voice, he was so grateful after such a long time she had presented herself to him, spoken to him, spoken to his family who was so indebted to her, but that voice how different it sounded. There was no laughter, no joy, no humour there was just pain, tears and emotion.
"I do" He whispered back.
"Well today its actually going to happen" She said, the knife sauntering dangerously close to her jugular vein.
The whole family held their breath, it was only Arnav who trusted himself to speak
"Don't.You.Dare"
The knife glinted at him, as if mocking his authority.
"Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada DON'T YOU DARE"
"No, its just Khushi, remember me Arnav-ji as just Khushi, I am no ones, my sister the woman I had done all this for was too selfish to tell her own husband, my so called aunt and mother gave me away to the highest bidder and my husband.." She laughed, a sad mocking laugh
"He hated me on sight, and still does" She laughed again, hollowing out the air in her lungs.
"No honey I don't hate you" He said, his voice and his body dangerously close to her.
She looked up then, her eyes glazing with emotion and before any of them could breathe she cut herself and ended the anguish and torment.
It was done, finished, gone.
It was over.
